Which is better integra or ek b swap? Cost wise and performance?
Love this video
I picked mine up for about R100k, which is about 8k USD. But interior was perfect, just need to maintenance. Mine had around 148k kilometers on the odometer. I did CAI, exhaust and reflash and it goes pretty damn nice. I might start posting some sound clips and so forth in the future. Still thinking about it. Mine is a 2007 accord type S by the way
is it even needed to take off the bottom storage bit or unscrew the gear panel at all since u guys didnt even end up taking the storage bit off?
lmao the no oil got me
Thanks boys, yall saved me some time with figuring this out.
Do u notice any cracks in the skunk2 downpipe in the welds?
I have a 4 door automatic integra, i want to manual swap it, what transmission am i looking for?
S80/Y80/S4C
Awesome stuff!! I’ll be doing this same set up
Where did you get your head from?
Second hand from a car that was being parted out. In my case an ek4 civic
Sounds awesome ! Planning to do the same with my EJ8. Are those OEM weathersheilds? And do you know if you can use a del sol ECU with an EK4 engine or vice versa?
Oem weathershields. EK4 and Del Sol use pretty much the same ecu, as long as you get one that matches the motor you’re all good to go! Some ecu will require an immobiliser delete
Can a Civic EK be swapped with a Del Sol Sir B16A2 engine?
Why not , you can even do b18 and b20
They certainly can, as mentioned you can even do b18/b20!
is the engine of an eg6?
I think the biggest disadvantage is that they didn't give them a proper diff locking system
Im still trying to find a decent XT here in Germany cause atm they are either overpriced asf or just rotten
Honda used to make such clean looking cars unlike these new cars that look over the top styling.
Could you pan a little faster? Please...
Did you guys reuse all the D-Series motormounts except the rear one?
KiwiCarLife did 5.8s lol insane - check out his series on these absolutely awesome.
great video guys
How did you do the ECU reflash?
Good job You learned a lot doing all that, that is precious - well done 👍
Mines done 320k kilometres and only now needing to replace the clutch, more of a precaution really And with a 6 stacker cd player! couldn't ask for much more Great cars 👍
I think you needed every part you bought for the car. So, it's not a waste of money. I think you're going to be happier with the way the car is running now.
I sold this car long ago, but regret it ever since. The car ran like a dream when I sold it and you’re right, it wasn’t a waste of money. Quite the opposite actually!
@ValveHouseAU I have an 03 civic im trying to fix... the misfire has been an issue for a good while and its gotten worse over time. I threw in bosch platinum spark plugs and some new coils. Friday, me and a friend are doing a compression test and we're cleaning the injectors in hopes it'll help. Thanks to your video, I have some more ideas to look into, but I seriously hope i can get it fixed without taking it to a mechanic. I really just dont have the money to be dropping that much into a shop. I barely have the money to do it myself. Its the first car I've had and I love it to death, so i hope to figure it out... im new to cars (been working at a lube and fluid exchange shop for over a year now), so i dont know much yet.
I just picked up one of these last week, except mine is a CL8 and its factory awd but has the shitty 160hp k20.
Still a great engine.
Radio code is 212121
make sure to paint your rotors with a complimentary colour for good contrast
Then cover them in wd40 so they can still slide with the new layer of paint (this is sarcasm!)
@@henrygobblesag1815 yeah wouldn't want to add too much friction
GREAT VIDEO BOYZ‼️🔥💯THANKS FOR THE CONTENT MY GUY IM SUBSCRIBED
how much?! 1000 dolllars for SF?? Jesus, in Kazakhstan SG5 starts from 9000 USD. I'm about to buy one for myself, that's why I ended up here I guess. I haven't decided turbo or naturally asp.. oh... it's 5000 for SG, but it's a lot cheaper. You guys are lucky
in the uk its like 3k for a decent sg. dont buy a naturally aspirated one, you will just regret it. Also, keep a close eye on the cooling system, particularly the thermostat. they can fail and it wont always be obvious. i lost an engine due to debris getting into the little bypass hole and preventing enough hot flow to open it. dashboard read normal temps the entire time. If you have any overheating issues at all, and are inclined to blame the head gasket, check the thermostat first, and use rislone head gasket sealer as a precaution. Otherwise, they are amazing. amazingly crap mpg too tho, lol.
@@Nbomber why would I regret atmo? Genuine question. Because of the lack of horsepower? Or something else. Because I've been watching reviews and turbo engines are not recommended, as it's not as reliable as atmo
@@unrealkinoart the lack of power pretty much, ive heard from a few people that have owned then that the N/A versions are gutless. and if you are buying it to enjoy, then you would always wish it was a turbo version. As far as reliability goes, they arent too bad really, just pay attention to the cooling and oiling and they will last. The funny thing is, its everything else on the car that constantly breaks. They eat clutches, suspension components and brakes. You will always be fixing it regardless of wether it is manual or turbo. But they are easy and cheap to fix (yourself), and amazing when they are running good.
@@unrealkinoart Most of the reviews you will see are just rubbish from people who have owned their cars for like a month, or heard memes about reliability. Speak to people who own them. But i'll be honest, im on my 2nd engine, thermostat broke on my first one on a road trip, overheated the engine till it was bone dry (temp gauge read normal temps) and blew my head gasket due to cylinder head warping. The N/A is equally at risk of this since its the same engine.
@@Nbomber I see, thanks. I hope I'll end up finding a decent one 😁
Forged rings pistons extremely strong motor, leaves a lot of the moden car's for dead
Definitely the standard cl9 is way better than the laxury
Mission accomplished. My 1994 LS runs way better in manual than auto. The better part is when accelerating, feels like the seat suck you in. Totally different way of driving from now on, gotta get used to it now after 18 years driving automatic. First was my 1987 Jeep Wagoneer Limited with an AW-4 and now the DB7, but after that, even in traffic jam I rather drive manual than automatic, not only because manual is fun while driving, but for me manual transmission are more entertaining for drive instead automatic. The better part of the swab was that ECU has not turned on the check engine light. Got transmission, shifter, clutch master cylinder, slave, disk, plate, flywheel and bearing from a 1998-2001 CRV and I feel that the SBXM runs pretty good. Diff ratio is 4.56:1 over S80/Y80 which it's 4.4:1, got good punch when accelerating. Going to fit a little bit bigger tire to bring down fuel consumption and rpm's while going on 62 mph (100 km/h). Here in Panama is very difficult to get a S80/Y80 because it's sold (used of course) between 1000-1200 transmission only. Shifter, flywheel, pedals are quite difficult specially on the engine. But as I told before, I got the parts from a 1998-2001 Honda CR-V and my DB7 is a different beast compared with the automatic transmission.
No need for a cat?
Headers bolt up to the stock cat
Nice video! Quick question, what mufflers are in the 3 vehicles in the beginning clip, and does the ryobi impact have enough torque to get everything done? Crank pulley, etc. just picked up a 98 civic dx hatch. Planning to do a manual swap. Great work!
How do you get on with rego. I’m in NSW too, Illawarra. What wreckers sells those engines & what price range. Tia
Hit up Type R Spares (Sam Daftar) on Facebook, prices have come down quite a lot so I’d be getting one now if you can. Rego is simple as we got the engine registered to the chassis.
I just got a 2008 CU2 accord euro 6spd mt in Milano Red with 180k km for $6.5k. its turned pink and I wanna respray it and the drivers window isn't auto for some reason. I tried the reset tips for the windows on the forums and on yt but it still isn't auto. Does anyone know how to fix it? also what mods would anyone recommend that's not too expensive
hey mate, are you saying your cam and crank were out of time or your ignition timing? i have the same deal, my car clears up with the ac on and is misfiring bad with it off, replaced the TB, ECT and o2 sensor so far, cheers
That correct, the timing lines were not correct and slightly off
Did it also have an exhaust leak in the B-pipe, mate?
The car had no rear muffler and a had a bad leak from a cracked header but I replaced them both.
WTF is an Accord Euro? Looks like the Acura sedan
Acura TSX in the states
I can understand doing things on a budget, but using sealant on the distributor and cardboard boxes for gasket is hack work man. spend 20 dollars on gasket material and an o ring. You cant turn the distributor to set timing nor did I see you do it in the video. These are the things you do to get your car home on a breakdown, not proper practice.
Seal on the dizzy yes, probably not permanent fix but I replaced shortly after when I set timing. Cardboard box for TB gasket however, works perfectly and has never let me down. I am now running a skunk2 IM with 70mm TB with supplied gasket but the cardboard one lasted the whole time.
The intake sound is extremely fire
Intake sound is the best ever. No replacement
Love it boys good job!
If you want technology, sexy looking car and freshness then get the gen 4 prelude with 4ws
I have an 07 SG with 480,000 km on the chasis and a rebuilt engine on 40,000km great cars
You still have that Honda !!!! Damn kiddd....and perhaps Honda should use you for their promo videos
And sow it down with that geer shifting because you really have a great car in your hands. Probabaly better than your dad who drives new BMW3
Damn kid. That Honda accord car belonged to your father who gave you one....Honda should really hire you
While you are still young and crazy enough for TV
Beautiful engine bay
Cannot forget to tidy the engine bay!
whered u get ur intake from and what reflash
Intake was on the car but looks like a cheapy one, reflash I believe was Chongdata
Still running
Still running like a dream! In upcoming videos we will show what we mods we have done since then👍
@@ValveHouseAU how many miles have u put on her? I ask because I'm in the middle of building mine and I want reliability
Where did you guys get the engine from? Looking for somewhere that sells B series engines
Depending on where you are located it varies. We have a wrecker who specialises in old Hondas so has most engines and parts readily available!
Did you completely swap the wire harness and ecu or modified the original d16 harness?
Swapped with B16 harness. Plugs into original D16 chassis harness
