Great work young fella. Sam should have a cluster and a mirror..

Sorting out engine before cluster. I actually got this mirror off him but it was broken unfortunately. Shouldn’t be too hard to fix👍

Hey mate, usually white smoke is coolant burning, as you mentioned could be a head gasket or cracked block or head. As for the weird smell from the exhaust, if is smells of sulphur (egg smell) it is the catalytic converter. It can be damaged due to many things if the car sat for 5 years. if not the smell can be coolant, ethylene glycol, which is the active ingredient in coolant can smell sweet when burnt. As for the misfire, go thru the essentials (spark, fuel and air) if you got all of those check compression and consider head gasket. If you were burning coolant i would likely say head gasket is blown.

I thought it was the headgasket 100% but it only blew smoke sometimes and after checking the coolant (I haven’t topped it up since buying it) it’s still all the way at the top and the smell isn’t sweet at all. I’ve done plugs, filter, drained tank (not enough I think), and topped with 98. I am going to try more 98 and some injector cleaner. Thanks for your comment🤟

I ended up replacing the tank with another stock one off another car with low kms. Just keep an eye out for one that’s being parted out with low kms
