Catch up with the latest SEO & Online marketing news!
The Beginning of Google’s End?
When was the last time you posted on Facebook? Not marketplace. Not your aunt's birthday. A real post.
Because here's what's wild - Facebook has over 3 billion monthly active users, record profits, and it’s still growing every quarter... but it doesn't feel the same, does it?
Just like Facebook's slow decline from cultural phenomenon to utility platform, Google might be facing its biggest existential threat since... well, since Google killed Yahoo.
Despite record profits and market dominance, signs of Google's weakening grip on search are everywhere: Gen Z is abandoning it for TikTok, ChatGPT is reaching unprecedented traffic numbers, and users are increasingly frustrated with ad-cluttered, SEO-manipulated search results.
Today we're diving deep into how AI-powered alternatives could finally crack Google's 25-year monopoly on search, and why this transition might happen faster than most people expect.

How Meta is stealing users from Google Search
Not being a huge Monopoly doesn't mean being dead, they're clearly on top of AI, Gemini is by far the best multimodal out there right now and the more it will be embedded in all the Google services the closer of being on all around AI it will be. When it comes to Google search it's undergoing a transition period, yes search sucks right now but it's transforming, and we don't know into what yet, they don't know either, they're trying things and looking at the results. That's the strength of Google, they have enough money to try a bunch of stuff, keep what works and remove or kill what doesn't. Look at TH-cam music, it used to be shit and now it's amazing, not as good as Spotify yet but improving faster than Spotify. This video is completely underestimating Google, they are not taking their success for granted, actually it's quite the opposite, chat gpt made them realize they need to focus, and they have. Their phone is better than ever, same for their watches, with Gemini their Google home and tablet are also improving. Google is far from being dead, it's just having a more fair competition which is amazing news for us users. Because we're gonna get better products and services from every actor on the market. But Google isn't going anywhere.
Exactly. Bravo.
Google are one of the major innovators of AI 🤖. They have consistently had some of the best AI people in the world working for them e.g. Nobel Prizes for folks at DeepMind this year! 🍾They have a massive infrastructure, and a comprehensive cloud/AI ecosystem that's essentially a ✨360° solution for businesses. Their low key approach, compared to more investor-hungry competitors, might make them appear conservative. But I reckon - don't be fooled. While Google's AI releases haven't been as flashy as GPT or Claude, their silent power is always there.
Perplexity FTW
I love Google
Let them go to hell with their damn hidden secret so-called algorithms and their damn updates...I wish the same for Amazon
There is just so much thin content on Google now. For years entrepreneurs tried to find any way possible to rank their sites, and game the system, they would then provide the user a page filled with affiliate garbage. This pollution build up continued for years, and I'm not sure if google is going to be able to do enough internet remediation to return the net to its glory days.
Agreed. But by rewarding it for so many years, Google made this problem 100x worse.
Everything that started ends
Hate to say it but if I use a search engine now I generally use bing, not for the search results, but for copilot. When I use google, not matter what search for, I feel like I have to remain focused and resist what they are trying to sell me. It could be the most random search and there will ultimately be some product placement As for the end of your video ....... Google may have to sell off Chrome 😂
The amount of money people put into link building just to 'improve' their seo is crazy. And people are wasting all this time on link building.. ridiculous
Well done
Already using Perplexity AI for the majority of search here
Backlinks have always been manipulated, and search results often monopolized, something Google is well aware of. But who really cares about small businesses?
let’s not underestimate a company that redefined how we access information, If Google collapses, the ripple effect it will have to established businesses on google search will be so overwhelming and search as we know it, will be interfered and complicated to what customers are used to, instead of vouching for Google to fail we better hope Google integrates new Search strategies that resonates with AI and solution first approach rather than sponsored ads.
It's not only the companies that are relaying on Google that will have a big impact. The whole AI thing will leave its mark. Content writers, website and software developers to name a view, will also feel the impact of AI. Like always in the world, it's going to be an interesting time...
So my 2cents.... I stopped using google because I'm so tired of seeing ':temu' on every bloody page. It feels and looks like a cash grab by Google. Yup it is starting to remind me of the 90's where the Netscape (browser 90's) would just have ads for diet pills & other useless crap. Meh... There I've said it.
I start by chatting to Perplexity. Even Copilot gives me better answers than Google.
I've found Co-Pilot to just be the best free AI out there. Google's AI has had so many PR blunders already that I just won't even consider it.
8:09 damn thats crazy lmfao
Perplexity already show you product recommendations and promised no sponsors in that.
Yeah Perplexity is getting better and better at a rapid pace. Whereas Google is going in the opposite direction.
@@AuthorityHackerNewswhat does this mean for TASS?
Open AI needs to serperate it's search product ( Search GPT) from it's LLM (ChatGPT) for it to become competitive and eat more of Google's share. Making ChatGPT an all-in-one apps isn't going to work.
google has multiple products like android and other stuff you missed in future there are planning huge I think so
How is AI models stealing all websites' information and reusing it, not piracy?
billionaires are allowed to steal from you, it's how they become billionaires.
Who says it's not? :)
@@AuthorityHackerNews I feel like everyone is ignore this and just going along as if this is all fine. Would have expected more lawsuits and governmental investigations by now
ChatGpt , And other all LLMs need data , they got data from google which is uploaded, written by millions of peoples, if google fails, source of data for these LLMs also stop feeding new information, how these GPTs are survive?? Think twice, LLMs used data of blogs by a illegal way , google have raw material for GPT types products…
The information exits outside of Google. Google just makes its (sometimes) easier to find. AI companies are cutting deals with social networks and other places where users create content. Now that Google has stopped rewarding most small and medium publishers, there is far less incentive to create website content. So that is also a vicious cycle.
Can't believe I'd see the day when AI wud be our great helper! Go, AI, go! 😅
Do you think regular search engines like Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo will die completely because of Gen AI ? I'd love to know what you think.
It’s probably going to be a mix of search engines, gen ai and social that takes over. We don’t see a new monopoly forming the way Google was for the past 25 years.
@@AuthorityHackerNewsso Google has been sued and lost in some countries for stealing information from news websites, how is AI models taking all that data without giving back to websites, not piracy? Logically something like ChatGPT should be getting sued.
5:20 This is what I almost always do. Without adding "Reddit" to the back of my search, Google is entirely useless.
In the late 90s, Yahoo partnered with Google and their Search was powered by Google. Everyone quickly realized they didn't need to deal with Yahoo and could just go straight to the source (google.com). What happens when Reddit build better internal search?
𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍‼️
If you think search is their problem, wait till you look at the abomination they've made with Google Auth and Help and Service center. Auth gets worse every single day and the experience of authenticating my acc for every new tab I open makes me want to unsubscribe my company from Google Workspace forever. Help and service is impossible to get any help. You are not allowed to write your problems, only click on links for problems "they think you have". Every help I've gotten from using google's products over the last 3 years came from the community or forum. This experience got worse with AI chatbots that don't accept free text, only options.
It's good that soon there won't be such a powerful monopoly of the internet which is what Google is. We don't need our corrupt debt-ridden federal government to try to be part of this natural breakup process.
Wtf! Since when was seo a bad thing?
Some are using reddit, nowhere near the people your making it out to be. Too much bullshit talk will get ya nowhere, and Google IS NOT STOPPING IN 2025 GOT IT??????...QUIT MISLEADING PEOPLE CLOWN
Who stole your lunch at work?
Google owns TH-cam don’t forget, they will find a way to improve their search engine for sure.
i find all of google's products annoying to use all of the time.
I still get all the MSM spam everytime I search, the search function on TH-cam is basically broken because they want to push narratives down my throat
It doesn't even show Alex Jones Twitter profile when I search for it. At this point Google is just a search engine for MSM and government sites. I ask for a hammer and they return a screw driver
I'd like to see details on people leaving Google for reddit.....
Great essay sir
Excellent video. It’s no small feat to sum up the complexities of this moment in the Google universe.
How to set SearchGPT as the default search engine in the browser search bar?
I hope they do get slapped and become irrelevant it will teach them a lesson although 'who' they are is is broad as they have 1000's working there, however google is like the bully who get's slapped eventually this will also happen to greedy googhell. They got too arrogant, and have destroyed too many small businesses with their corrupt algorithms and opaque wankers who work for them. a site i had built from the ground up got crushed by panda, oddly enough named after some indian bloke, now the place is full of them. wonder why i am seeing indian sites in google search for us queries and the goofy ceo is also indian. i find these days I hardly use google for anything other than some local queries. it for sure feels like an outdated website.
Early adapters are always the first to know
Reddit and quora are dominating 1 page of Google. What is the solution?
What is sad is that google search used to be actually good in the past, but enshittification and seo made it the slop it is today.
Google is a fucking joke
buy em out boys!
Google eating popcorn and watching this
Clickbait horseshit
Google killed search. No point looking for anything on google as they just put rubbish in the first few pages.
Very well made video. Thank you
Glad you liked it!
Every SEO wants evil Alphabet to follow Kodak and Nokia.
But if AI search replaces Google, every SEO will be out of a job, so will be most websites
