About time! They absolutely devestated the traffic to my niche news site tanking it by 80%. We dont use AI but we do follow good SEO practices and we still got wrecked. 8 years of hard work destoyed in under a month since the HCU launched.
Absolutely devastated by 80%, so not absolutely. Even my 99.8% down is not absolute, I just went from 5000 a day to 10 a day from Google. It could have been worse.
@@vesogry We run a non profit news outlet covering a specific niche field in medicine, for us 80% is a huge problem. Plus this isnt a competition, we have both lost out big time here, no need to downplay others situations.
I should have said, google cannot be trusted at all anymore, it's almost akin to a protection racket, it's a shame that in the UK/EU we don't have lawyers more willing to take a class action against what they've done - any ambitious lawyers out there?!
From 250000 daily traffic to 20000 daily. Google chop my website head just like that. cant even recover a little bit. A news website. Any suggestions? The google large drop usually cant work on my website because we are publishing like 70 news a day so not like 1 page drop.
I'll take part in the weekly one sided debate. Yes, PR from Google. Of course some people will recover. Those people will get all excited and love Google again, whilst completely forgetting the pain, stress, financial ruin, family break up and, let's be frank, probably suicides caused by a greedy monopoly doing grubby little deals with other media conglomerates.

The problem is that I was using Ezoic, their certified partner, and had the best user experience selected. 3 appeals (nice with explanation) to mentally challenged people in Google and they have this f*** y*** buttons that they press every time you send an appeal. I could be sending them for years but they knew from day one that it won't do shit. After earning them $50K in the last 4 years they can't even send a human written email. No wonder they have a 1.4 score on Trustpilot.

It's just the 1st day out of 30 😄 I'm skeptical small publishers are going to win by the end of this.
