Learning To Figure Skate In My 20's - MY FIRST PROGRAM - ISI Adult Silver Freestyle
Here is my first ever figure skating program, which I performed at ISI West Coast Champs in april 2023, the weekend of my two year skating anniversary!! What a lovely way to mark 2 years of progress.
This ice was so soft lmao I felt so slow and it really messed with my edges 😅😅 but I had so much fun!! I was the only skater in the adult silver category 😂
Music is Ready by Montaigne, and I cut it myself =)

Here is my journey as an adult figure skater over the course of two years! Since it may be confusing, my two year anniversary was in 2023, I just didnt get around to making this video until now!! All of the clips used are from my first 2 years of skating even though it has been 3 years at the time of posting. I hope that makes sense!! Also worth mentioning- I was injured which took me off the i...

'o' that's my home mall what
You are really good!
this is so inspiring as someone who started at 14 and thought i started too late, i’m 15 now and i hope i can improve as much as you in the future 😊
Is rollerskating also good for off ice practice?
Wow I never thought of doing it this way! Looks like it worked great!
Was the last part at lloyd center? I skate there a lot and I just noticed that it looks really similar
I just got my toe loop 😂
Eyy congrats!!! 🎉🎉
montaigne!!!! i love your program you did so well!!
Thank you!!!! Love them 🥰🥰
Yaaaay! That must have felt like such a breath of fresh air!
yay!! i’m so proud of u! i’m still working on my axel and double salchow ♥️
This is a great program honestly and so well executed!!
Thank u jess ❤️❤️
Really beautiful ❤
Yea Marshall!!!!
Thank u kim 😆
Oh wow! I have recently taken up ice skating and you’re doing so much in 2 years! I aspire to be like you ❤
Aww tsym ❤️❤️
That was gorgeoussss
For two years that is so fantastic! I’m two and a half years and I’m no where near as good!
This is honestly such an inspiration for me!!! Though I'm still young(13) I still feel awkward being in basic 3 because I see all these 8 year olds landing crazy jumps right next to my lesson, and videos like these really help remind me that I don't need to be skating since I could walk to compete and get good<3 You did amazing!!!
Omgggg you skate so beautifully and this program is amazinggggggg!! I also started to learn how to skate in my 20's but I'm adult/basic 5 so you are literally goals to me 🥰 Keep up the amazing work!
Tysm!!! Keep working hard!! ❤️✨️
That was SO good! 👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you!! ❤️❤️
My favorite part is randomly almost falling at the end 👍😂
girl ur spins are incredibl. By the time I reached backspin and axel I ended up switching full-time to ice dance with a partner :)
Thank you! Aahh ice dance is so cool!! In the last year I've been taking ice dance lessons to supplement my freestyle stuff- I wish there were any male skaters at my level that I could partner with bc I just skate with my coach atm 😩
i would like to see the program from your first competition!! your progress is so amazing i'm always practicing spins and not jumps coz i still find them scary haha
I'll be posting my program tomorrow morning! And thank you 🥰
How often do you go skating?
Hi!! Unfortunately my practice schedule was extremely inconsistent bc I was in college at the time, but it could be anywhere from 2 hours to like... tops 16 hours a week if I was going crazy, but I might miss multiple weeks at a time when school got busy.
Yeeesss, you are so cool!🎉🎉🎉
Thank youu 🥰🥰
That was the most gorgeous spin I’ve ever seen are you kidding meeeee
Thank uuu 🥰🥰
@@marshallspins of course!!
Incredibly inspiring. As we age, we should continuously seek to learn new things, we must improve as individual everyday
Absolutely agree!! Life would be so boring if we stopped learning new things ❤️❤️
My little cameos at the end 😂 Those were so fun
Hell yeah!!! It’s never too late🤍 The hard work and dedication is palpable
Thank you!! 🥰🥰
thank you soo much for uploading your progress❤❤
Your off ice axel is stunning
You improved so quickly!! Wow this is so motivating. What was your routine?
THREE MONTHS?! wowww
This is very motivating i really want to learn how to figure skate 💞
Hi just curious what type of skates do you have? Tysm I’ve been trying to find a good upgrade form the soft skates.
Guys i saw some of you said it wasn't possible but I've been skating for almost 2 months and I'm kinda like her not really that much good but I can do most of the moves that are in the video so if you are dedicated and passionate you would be like me
Did you buy skates before first lesson ? Coz I wanna learn but I’m not sure about the skates …
for the first 3o second i thought you were the coach ahaha
i just watched ur pne month video and u improved so much super good keep up the good work!
I can relate to this. It's still painful
More than me haha I just got to the 3 month mark and I just learnt a 2 foot spin 😅😊
Yes! I am also I beginner but I have been practicing for around 10-11 months ( Minus the time with my injury ) trust me, things will get hard once you start learning harder moves but one thing is to never give up❤️ I’ve already been learning the scratch spin for a month and I almost got it successfully, this stuff will take time in the future so please, stay with it no matter what!❤️
Was that the lloyd center ring?? Me and my sister used to skate there when we were young 😢 so many memories made there before they changed the place
Wow this is amazing progress for such a short amount of time! Amazing!
I love the people in the back celebrating on landing their 1 Lutz!
When you do your sit spin, try to turn your free leg out a little more, it will help you get down further 😊. Impressive for only 11 months. Jumps are good. Keep it up, well done 😊
I am a kid and i better
@@perspectiveast You need to learn some humility and proper grammar.
😮😅😮😮
You goooo girl!!
I can't wait to start skating! Watching videos like these, where adults start skating, are very motivating. I just bought my first pair of skates as an almost 22 year old. I have absolutely no experience aside from skating a handful of times in rental skates, so I'm both terrified and excited.
Some nice spins there. Try to point your toe and turn out your foot a little on the camel spin. Turn your foot out on the sit spin and you'll be able to get lower. As with all skating spins and jumps, practice, practice, practice - but you're doing well. Keep it up, well done 😊
That dbl loop attempt was solid!
