  • I started skating on April 24th 2021, this was filmed on December 31st 2021.
    I missed months 6 and 7, but you can see some of what I was up to during that time on my Instagram @marshallspins . Why did I miss months 6 and 7? well, in-between months 3 and 4 videos, I had to take almost 2 full months off of skating due to my rink being closed. I filmed month 4 right after getting back on the ice, so even though it was actually about 5.5 months since I started skating, it was still representative of my skills 4 months in. Then month 5 was filmed a little less than a month after month 4. Then I was unable to film the following month due to the rink being so busy for the holidays. SO basically, I've only really been on ice for 6.5 months, but its been 8 months since I first started. I hope that makes sense haha. I'm gonna start adding dates to my videos so its super clear how long its been. But I wanted to get my video titles back on track so that when I get to 1 year, its been exactly 1 calendar year since I started.

      I'm SO glad to see this! For the love of God, I cannot understand the scratch spin! How on earth do you get your leg in front of you without falling backwards? I will feel invincible once I find the scratch spin!

    Incredible! So glad to see you again! The ending is also very relatable because it's finals week for me.

    Wow, impressive. I had three months and still working on consecutive edges, and 3-turns and x-over. Struggling because I’m flat footed so I don’t feel correct positioning over the feet 😩

    Nice extension when you come out of your spins. Try and work on the exits, but you know that already. Super position on the camel spin. Point your toe especially on your free leg in the spins. Other than that, some really good skating, well done you 😉

    Nice to see how youa re jumping. My loops are very not there yet. I love watching how you do it. I feel I am making harder than it should be. So I always fall and over rotate. 😬

    • @marshallspins

      I used to make loops wayy harder than I needed to! I wouldn't lean into the edge at all and it was soo hard to get all the way around lol

      @@marshallspins it is hard. Last Saturday I was finally able to jump, which was harder to do for me, but my landing was not perfect yet.

    I recognize Winterhawks arena!! 😀 that’s where I’m learning to skate. I’m starting in basic learn to skate classes. How much do you practice per week (just roughly). You are amazing!!

    I'm learning the flip and toe loop atm and like- I have to make my coach demonstrate like 8 times bc I forget what legs or arms go where and how to do it💔

    • @marshallspins
      @marshallspins  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hahaha I'm the same way 🤣 literally I still never remember which way my arms go for my edge exercises

      @@marshallspins YES!! When I was learning outside consecutive edges I kept going from outside to inside and it was so embarrassing 😭

    Does it hurt to fall? I'm so scared of breaking bones or other injuries 😓

    • @marshallspins
      @marshallspins  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really depends on the fall but tbh not really haha. You get used to falling pretty quick (especially if you do it a lot 🤣) and naturally start adjusting your falls so you land more comfortably. The most painful falls I've had have been the random ones that you don't expect like getting your blade stuck in someone else's rut. Jump and spin falls don't hurt much especially cause you can tell that they're gonna happen usually
