does it need a remake? me no. remaster would be fine for the ps5 for me, ff13-2 is my favorite. i think people hate on it because online ppl just bash on it so others agree. but a remake would definitely change others opinion and be great.

I'd probably burst out in nostalgia tears if Final Fantasy 1-6 got HD-2D remasters let alone remakes.

I don't think the new audience cares at all about ff of any kind. Sales have shown that over and over. I personally have never liked any ff game. Boring and slow with characters I never gave a damn about. And I'm talking about the first games

If a HD remake why not just make the game 3D then!? We've already got an HD-2D remake with the Pixel Remaster!! Unless you're talking about adding voice acting otherwise with Pixel Remaster we can already play FF1-FF6 in HD!! Just an opinion!!

make shitty Final Hallway XIII, sucks, everyone says as much, rubs salt in the wound by making 2 sequels instead of letting Versus XIII with Nomura's vision, get half baked soft reboot as XV instead., Can't ever forgive this game. It deserves double or triple the hate it gets.

Secret of Mana for the SNES for the USA was my favorite!

It would be the best FF if it had the same battle system but with the improvements from 13-2. An expert crystarium, air ship that lets you return to chapters 1-10 which all have post game areas with optional content and quests that open up, towns with npcs along the way and the ability to switch between party members during battle. Also more emphasis on the villains like Jill, Roshe and Cid.

i feel like old school hardcore FF series fans have been gatekeeping alot against FF13 trilogy imo

I bought it and never played any previous mana titles but it reminded me of the time my big brother used to play allot of jrpgs like ff4, ff6, and secret of mana ..so I gave it a go. It’s an endearing nostalgic story and has its charm as well as fun and easy to play combat system I’m halfway through it and I love it. The world, story and character designs and environments are amazing.

Mana is not mana without so glitches and flaws 😃

FF 4 was my first and favorite RPG. 6 is close behind. I would love to see both in HD2D. Take my money now 😁

My childhood was spent on Legend of Mana and Sword of Mana. I would kill for Sword to be brought onto the Switch! Such a beautiful game. Even if co-op wouldn't work, I still want to replay it proper.

They need to give us a completed ff15

Trails is so underrated, i can recommend the series to every Jrpg player, also the Steam Versions of Trails in the Sky are amazing and are beloved by the community due to technical perfect port and the amazing translation (and thats one hell of an achievement given how text rich this game is)

Remake is a bit strong, i mean Chrono Trigger, 6,8,9 and 19 (and why not 4) are more pressing concerns i think. a Remaster would be perfect, the Steam release of 13-2 and lightning returns is a mess, i would buy a PC version of the Trilogy on day one!

FFVI is so good. In my top 3 FF games. I hope SE never touches it again, it does not deserve that.

I really hope they do this with some quality of life enhancements like being able to change characters. Also make money from monsters it takes forever to make enough money to make ultimate weapons.

i think they put the hd-2d opera scene in the pixel remaster in just for one reason: to show fans what could be and to make fans voice their interest in such a remake! maybe it was a programmers idea who is also a fan of 6 and made it? i mean Square needs eternity for projects and often enough they invest the time and money in the wrong ones, foam stars, avengers, forspoken etc...

The visual design and audio design of this game are simply masterpieces! I really like this visual - a mixture of the Star Wars world with Japanese stuff) You can already play the remasters if you install mods from the Nexus for these games. I would like to see remakes with a completely redesigned game world. Make it more open and interactive. Make more exploration of the world and interesting hand-made side quests to further reveal the characters and world. Reading the in-game encyclopedia to understand the game universe is sooooo booooring! I would like to learn this directly through the gameplay! The game world has a lot of potential)

I do think if they do one, then yeah HD-2D one. Tho the real question is does Chrono Trigger deserve a HD-2D Remake?

Remaking FF9 or FF6 is the best choice. FFXIII despite of being 15yo the graphics is not that old, and they spent so many years for that game. Instead, why not giving the old FF a chance to be modernize. Many fans doesn't bother for FFXIII to have a remake. Personally, I wish they remake FFT, or non-FF like Vagrant Story instead.

I remember playing this when it came out. Definetly one of the best PSP games and those anime cutscenes are pretty well made.

So much charm in this game! Can’t believe it came to psn after years of wanting to play it. Think I’m nearing the end of CH6 and I only picked it up last week!

I honestly don't understand why ppl say 13 needs a remake. It already has good graphics. IMO the graphics were the only good thing about the game.

Lovely little review! Would enjoy seeing some deeper dives. Unfortunate about the unfounded critique elsewhere. As always the hipster critics have something to prove. I don't know that any male critic, with a large following, under the age of 35, would be able to stop themselves from finding some glaring "issue" to harp on about... even if it's something as hollow as "Not breaking any new ground" ... Asif every game has to ¬_¬'' Show me the last From Software game that wasn't just another reskinned Dark Souls.

This was my favorite ff series

I just replayed the first two, besides the first one being quite flawed but still enjoyable for the story I think they still hold up decently and find it unnecisary. Rather do 6, 8, 9 or 10 imho. Although they should hold off for 6 so the they can eventually do it with some future tech that will make it possible to make it fully remastered in 1 part, but that seems impossible.

It's on my "to get list" but it'll be a while until I get around to playing it. Too many games on the backlog 😂

Would love to see a remake as i had fun with paradigms and crystariums. But what i hear is that crystal tools, the engine the game runs on, would be hard to translate to modern consoles. I would love to revisit gran pulse with real questlines, and the cut arks.

The game is going to be remade at some point. While yes they could remaster it, I think XIII had some pretty amazing cinematic scenes that would be done a great justice if remade/rebuilt for current gen. It would be one of best triple A visually appealing titles

I'll never understand what makes mana visions fun to play I guess the world is amazing I just played the demo and unfortunately didn't liked it thought it was too generic for my liking yeah I would say the pacing, the designs of the charaters and generic jrp dialogue maybe I'm just getting too old 😂 But I'm glad for those people who enjoyed the new entry of the game cause sounds like it's been long time a new entry came out
