Hey guys! Yay! You're back😁. Was starting to think you'd done one in the van to Europe or something. Love the video as always. Yes Otis mate, every little wood job you do will take your confidence up and up, but doing great with it all so far. You guys still heading north this month? Looks like I'm working for at least two more weeks before I'm free!
Hey!! Yes we’re back :D we uploaded this at the back end of our holiday using 4G it took 4 hours 😅 not done one yet although we’re very close!! Re going up north yes we shall be but perhaps not until mid September now as SJ has got a couple singing gigs near us in Cornwall - I think the last is 14th September so after that we’re coming for ya! (Pending where you’re at, at that stage lol)
Thanks for sharing. The plywood floor that the premade suppliers manufacture for vans here in Australia use a router to cut each edge so they sit on top of each other, if that makes sense, hence what I'll be doing, routers are affordable and so simple and you use them for almost everything in your build. I think a biscuit cutter is not for me, for 2 reasons, 1 it's bloody expensive and 2 it's too easy to mess up your cuts as you've shown in this learning video, not to mention it won't be used for anything in my build, thanks for sharing to show how to not do your floor, it's handy to have this so we can all learn.
@@vickimathews1970 you’re welcome 😅😅 your comment had us cracking up with laughter cuz it’s exactly how not to do it! Router is deffo a better way of doing it - it does make sense they sit on top of one another (half a cut in each so they kinda jigsaw together) - and the router also has many other use cases throughout the build whereas biscuit is pretty much just the one. Luckily we didn’t have to buy it or any parts as SJ’s uncle David already had it - so we thought why not - but in 9mm ply it’s totally not worth the aggro nor benefits - in fact with our ‘hole’ we now have a squeaky bit 😅 all the best with your build!
@@onroutetonowhere thank you, I'm happy to hear you saw the humour in my Aussie comment...lol...that's exactly what I was aiming for. Bloody biscuit maker, that's sad it's created even more issues, fill it with cream, I mean foam 🤣..lol I've learnt everything from TH-cam to do my last 2 builds and 1 upgrade, soon there'll be a new rig to build and that will be my forever home, it will be fun, I also know how challenging and over it you can get, especially when you're doing it all by yourself. My parent's are in their late 80's so can't help, hence I've purchased many more tools for this build to make my over 50 year old body work less harder...lol.
The van looks great :) All the annoying bits take ages but it will be worth it in the end! I found with our build that these bits took the longest and showed the least amount of visible progress but once you get past a certain point it starts to fly up. Keep up the good work!

I think you are doing a great job. My van build is taking forever and a day too. Mostly because everything is so expensive and of course now my van broke and then my jeep broke :D

@@onroutetonowhere yes. The jeep I needed to replace front pads, rotors and one caliper and my van is the flexplate and rear main seal.
Don't care how old you are a party ring is the one haha can not beat a party ring open a pack say going have a couple packet later haha great job again 🎉😊 also if you never make mistake then we would never learn you always need to crack a couple of eggs to make an omelette

I miss calculated and somehow ended up with a 20mm gap missing from my side step! I'm still yet to fill it. I just said screw it it'll just have to do(making do). like your hole. It''ll fill and be covered up :)

If there small gaps you can run a bit of builder Cork to fill the gap doing a great job

Waste water tank outlet put a waste water tank under the van
Not sure but by the look of it the lip is ment to be on the inside of the van and you would fix it on the inside that if they had cut the hole properly
ahh that would have been better - we really wish we could have done it all ourselves, re-doing other peoples (bad) work has been a challenge to say the least!
