COMPLETE GUIDE to setting up an automating your INDOOR GROW STATION
The growing season is upon us and the first thing to get set up is your indoor grow station. I like to automate it as much as possible so that I can focus on growing my seedlings and not have to worry about whether they're getting enough light, whether the temperature is right etc
Let me show you exactly how I do it!
Here are a list of products that I reference in the video:

    I thought you let them stay in place for 4 years and then you dig them up and seperate. That is what the instructions said that came with my corms. 2024 was my first year planting these. I purchased 12 corms and each one produced 2 lovely flowers for me. Thanks for the info on the plastic chicken wire. The squirrels in my yard are crazy critters! I planted mine in an ice chest ... because I knew I would be moving. So they currently just have sticks in the corner with insect netting over them. I am in my new house now so when they go in ground I will definitely keep those crazy little guys out of my saffron garden with that plastic chicken wire!! PS: I live in zone 5a planted in August -6" deep and harvested the saffron the end of November.

    • @GreenLove1
      @GreenLove1 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@gloryb5513 would love to learn how your journey goes in 5A. Saffron is a Mediterranean flower so prefers winters to be a bit milder, but can grow in much lower temperatures as well. Very forgiving. Yes, ideally you want to just put them in the soil and forget about them for 3 to 4 years. But since I was doing containers, and also I wanted to understand how saffron multiplies, I have been uprooting them every year. This is the first year I'm going to be letting them stay in the ground, for the next 3 years or so. The journey continues!

      @@06snydernancy that's an interesting suggestion. The main problem I would see is that you would need liquid for the blender to function properly...and you definitely don't want to add liquid. It's EASY to CHIT POTATOES! It's also time to plant(January )in my Northern California garden! I left these smaller ones from my harvest last season covered in this wooden box for at least 6 months. I just opened the box and they are chitted nicely and ready to plant for the garden. By the way these were started from grocery store organic potatoes last season, which is what I always do. ⁉️Do you chit potatoes before planting? Also, do you buy "seed" potatoes or just grow potatoes from the grocery store? I am curious! The internet is divided on this topic! I did an experiment last year to see whether chitting potatoes made a difference versus just burying the potato without chitting it. I found that the chitted potatoes grew consistently well, versus many of the unchitted potatoes rotted. So I do believe chitting potatoes does make a difference. What do you think?
