This is a great video. I've seen these vertical towers promoted in many channels. Usually showing different planting strategies or add on features. This video shows the reality of the labor needed for success. This information is very helpful in deciding if this product is for you or as a gift. Thank you so much!
Thanks, I like sharing my realities in case people have similar issues. Also GreenStalksnare not for everybody, as some of my friends found out the hard way. I do love them so much though!
@@car507 I love that you subscribed to my channel too, Thank you!! I have linked the spinner base that I used for four of my GreenStalks in the description. But to be perfectly honest, I am saving up to replace them with actual GreenStalk spinner / movers, because those are just so much better! A bit pricey though!
I had lots of issues with aphids, to the point that I pulled out all my plants from the greenstalk and planted them elsewhere. I also found that because I was watering too much, the berries were tasteless. Giving it another shot to see whether I have better luck this time.
Thank you for the advice. I wanted to primarily dedicate one of my GreenStalks to a few pepper plant varieties. I will be leaving the GreenStalk outside year round (zone 8b/9a) and using the Frost cover when necessary. This spring will be my first time using my GreenStalk. In the fall will I need to treat the pepper plants like I am overwintering them and simply place them back into the GreenStalk?
My experience with pepper plants has been that it's best to leave them in place, don't disturb the roots. Those overwintering steps are needed only if you are bringing them indoors.
Well I got these plants, from a friend, and I'm trying to plant them and see if they can establish some roots before the cold weather really hits. And yes, hoping they will overwinter! If not I'll just buy a fresh batch and plant them in Spring
@@GreenLove1 I've got some strawberries that are still outputting in my green, so I might roll it to a more sheltered/warmer area and see what happens.
I like your screen idea for sifting...Thank you so much I'm glad I seen this
@@jolee6751 yeah, I know a lot of people who leave the roots and those will decompose, so that's fine too. I just like to start off clean!!

@ thank you I think I might do the same and save up or put them on my Christmas list lol
Curious to see how the strawberries do. I haven’t had much success with them in my Greenstalk.
