I just love all of your videos! 😍 I’m particularly obsessed with the Greenstalk content since I’m a new owner of two. I remember you said you grew a cantaloupe in one before. Did you make a video on it? I remember seeing a picture in a prior video, but wondered if there was a dedicated video on it. If not, would you possibly do one in the future? 🙏🏾
Thanks for watching my videos 🧡! Yes, I grew the largest, sweetest cantaloupe ever in one of my GreenStalks. Did not make a dedicated video, unfortunately, just shared progress updates when I was making other GreenStalk videos. I don't think I did anything special other than fertilize regularly, installed irrigation (which was a game changer in my GreenStalks) and I did trellis it. Not sure if there is a formula here, but I will try again next year and record a video, because you asked 💚💚💚
These are good tips. I wish I had seen your video sooner. Yesterday, I went out and planted one tier in my mom's GreenStalk. She let me use a tier from her GreenStalk for my own plants. 🙂
You're welcome! Yes, it was nice of her. :) I planted Shogoin turnip, cilantro, lemon balm, celeriac, and I already had a Blue Spice basil plant in one of the pockets from the summer.
That's a Texas Tomato Cage - you can do an internet search for the company. They are the best tomato cages you can buy - extremely sturdy and fit well in the GreenStalk. Not terribly cheap, but very high quality. I was lucky to get them second-hand from a generous neighbor!
@@Ladybug-1954 ha ha, maybe GreenStalk should do some kind of collaboration with them. I used them for some pretty large climbing plants in summer, and they held up quite well!
@160Days2Lose2 peas definitely need something to climb on but does not need to be too elaborate...a bamboo cane or something similar, about 3 ft tall, is sufficient!
Love your videos, thank you for the GreenStalk content. Did you mix up your Greenstalks? It looks like you have deeper (5 tier) and the smaller ones on the same one. I would love to do something similar but want to make sure it wasn’t purchased like that first.
Thanks so much! I actually bought one 7-tier and 3 5-tiers, and did a mix'n'match and made 5 total GreenStalks. I like the slightly lower overall height much better. However, you can buy the Inventor's bundle where they do the mix'n'match for you(3+3), and also include the spinner base with wheels and a support. Right now, it's on sale for like $167 (usually over $200), and if you have to buy them separately it's a lot more. So that's a good option too. I always buy the spinner base with wheels anyway, I have to have that. Hope this helps! LMK if you have any other questions
So are you still using the covers you show here (and a rock) now that you have the seed covers from GreenStalk? I did order those so just wondering if I need both or just one.
@@JenGresham I would do both if sowing lots of seeds like cilantro or arugula, because the weight really helps the roots establish well, but once they germinate, the seed houses keep them protected.

@@trobinson89 thanks for your comment and kind words. So nice of your Mom to share a tier with you! What did you plant?

Yes please tell me what that trellis is and where I can get one! Thanks!

@@GreenLove1Thank you for the info. I planted peas in my top tier and didn’t realize they need a trellis. I will look into this! 🙌🏾

Also curious which nursery you buy your starts from since I'm in south bay!
