Nicely done. I'd have added a barrel plug power out drilled into the base and just added the ring lamps power supply to the existing one - keeping the original goose-neck. Heck check the existing bigger switching supply to see what it outputs - it may have been 12v out.... ?

Sweet. There is also a 3D print to adapt the rectangular housing to a circular one for those ring lights. I'm trying to find a arm so I can ditch the stupid base these things have. Its limiting the positions I can put the board in. Not to mention if you move it too far to one side the scope falls over... I'll check out your other videos on this scope and see if I can pull any ideas out to do to mine. Thanks

This is a fantastic video Billy - great explanation and attention to detail. I have one question - can you explain a little more detail about how you wired the capacitors to the tone controls? I see you use some additional bare wire first before soldering in the cap - can you clarify the connections? What I think you are doing is connecting the far left lug (of the pot) to the pot casing, the middle lug (of the pot) to also the pot casing and one end of the cap to the pot right side lug and the wire that goes the switch to the other leg of the cap? Is this correct? Thanks in advance!

Another problem with that guitar. The octave strings are upside down. They're supposed to be low-high. You've got them high-low. If you're going after that traditional Rickenbacker 12-string sound it makes a difference.

Those old Jensens can’t be beat in my opinion. When functioning properly they sound amazing… at least every one I’ve ever tried. I would gladly pay $100 for a reconed 1960’s Jensen that’s gonna last me another 30 plus years over any new speaker replacement. They definitely don’t make ‘em like they used to. It’s crazy that the two best American guitar speakers were both made in Chicago- CTS and Jensen. As a side note the modern day Italian made Jensens are garbage- they don’t sound anything like their vintage counterparts, which is unfortunate.

What an experience. Thank you for not only your amazing story but also for sharing this "episode" I had a stent installed in 2011 followed by a triple bypass in 2013. I had 3 major heart attacks on February 16th 2017. One for the ride to the hospital and two more while in that same hospital ER visit. The heart surgeon installed 7 more stents, as the deemed another open heart surgery "too risky". Some of the stents were among the smallest medically available in 2017. Of all the things I have been educated about because of my heart issues and I have never heard of this possible risk. Now I do thanks you sharing. I need to have a chat with my Cardiologist.
