so Vinyl Me Please does do good sounding re-issues, cool!!
last 35 secs of 'some girls' is like passing thru from an earthly to a divine dimension.
The T Rex was also a Rocktober release in 2016.I bought this one as well as the Rocktober release. The vinyl me please was much better. The fold over flap was completely removable on the Rocktober release.Vinyl me please did a much better job as far as presentation in my opinion.
Thanks for the info. I’m glad to learn the VMP was worth the purchase over the Rocktober. 👍🏻✌🏻
🙏🏼
They're such a different band now......If Neil wasn't there it would be a tribute band.
Originally they were 3 members. 2 are still in the band (Neil & Nick). 🤷🏻♂️
@@fidelios_frequency Yere, I know, with Mark Hart from 93......but Neil got rid of him.
Great comparison Arnaldo I knew the UK will win I agree I do hear a slight siblance on the US copy . I’ve never ran across any UK pressings of The Smiths on the the 12” s . Man Arnaldo now I have to seek the OG UK ones out .i missed out on the box sets they are very pricey now . I really enjoyed you breakdown in detail on the different pressings man I was completely surprised about German 1st and the the Queen is Dead box set sounding not that good I thought it would of ranked higher but those extra look cool as hell. Have a great week Arnaldo and take care .
The thing about the sibilance is interesting. I have noticed sibilance on 80s SRC pressings many times. Not sure if that is a trait of certain pressings from that specific plant. I will have to ask Patrick PbThal. Do you know which pressing you have? Thanks!
@@fidelios_frequency the Queen is dead I have is the W1-25426 on Sire
@@fidelios_frequency the Queen is Dead I have has slight sibilance the matrix is W1-25426 US Sire original
I ended up buying a P6 and I am very pleased with the sound but just wondering if you were able to get rid of the squeak on start-up? My lid is also scuffed along the top edge.
Squeak is still there. I understand that is a common trait of most Regas. You should ask for a replacement dust cover. Either the retailer or US distributor should be able to assist you.
Really need to get you a CB oven mitt for that scathing analysis of the anniversary edition 🔥 Always hate when they give the perceived value (new set, box, etc) only to shit the bed on the mastering of the album itself.
🤣Well the anniversary set is good for the extras and the new artwork… and for crazy completists like me. 😁
A great album and wonderful review/perspective. Nice job! 💚🩷🩶
Thank you! ✌🏻😊
I have one of these...it's good...I enjoy listening to it...👍🫶👍
Not sure which one you have, but that you listen to it is all that matters! ✌🏻😎
I really like the 2012 reissue (cheap 🔥!), completely agree with your takes on its sonic qualities...super balanced, dynamic, and lively on my system/room. Intrigued now and adding the uk to wantlist...ty for the review & love the autograph flex (so awesome)!
If you find a UK original in good shape it’s worth the “investment“ ✌🏻😎
I have a few copies of this album and similarly I have been listening to it since release, I wholeheartedly agree that the UK 1st is the best but would recommend the Japanese 1st pressing if you like treble and the Australian version for a different fade on Some Girls.
Yes, Japanese pressings (although super quiet vinyl) are known for the lack of bottom end and boosted treble. I never come across Australian pressings but will keep that in mind. Thanks!
I think it’s pretty common knowledge the Sire pressings are a little on the bright side. I have just about all the UK pressings including TQID and they always sounded better. I agree with you the UK pressing sounds the best. I also have the 2012 pressing which I really like and would rate it a close second. The 2012’s have a nice bottom, a little more bass which gives it a nice fuller sound. I bought a few of those and normally play them instead of my originals. Nothing beats the UK 12’ single pressings, those are the best for individual tracks.
💯✌🏻Thanks Frank!
hello can you give us barcode of uk first pressing lp ty
The UK first pressings do not have a barcode. I will post the Discogs urls for each pressing in the description.
Love that album so much. Btw, big news, video is a few days out, but today I got my The Smiths 7’’ whale! I am very happy and now own all their 7’’ released in the UK during their existance as a band! Great video, thank you! Cheers from Morten
Hey Morten! Looking forward to your video. Please forward to me in case I miss it!
@@fidelios_frequency I’ll make an effort to do so. It’s ser to premiere on July 2nd (3rd here). Thank you!
@@mortenaastad796I’ll be on the lookout.
My new P3 has the squeak, the cueing lever has free play. I also have a loud noise through right speaker when removing tone arm off record. Also my wool mat has the hole off centre so it spins crooked. lol. These little things are frustrating for the cost
Who did you buy it from? Maybe you should contact the retailer or ask for a replacement.
I think you miss the point. The word is INTEGRITY.
Not sure I understand what you mean.
I generally like Rickie Lee Jones, but this is sad. It's such a great song and to have her sleepwalk through this doesn't do it justice. Show some passion! Use those pipes.
Lenny rocks
🤘🏻🎸😎 Indeed.
Excellent reviews on these new drops, ty for sharing your takes! I have floors to clean tomorrow and will be streaming Kravitz & Crowded House to demo based on your recommendations. I am really looking forward to Empire of The Sun's 4th lp later this month & loving Khruangbin's latest lp, "A La Sala" (we are seeing them in Oct in STL).
I haven’t had a chance to listen to Khruangbin yet. Thanks for watching. 😊
I’m not generally interested in new music. Most of it seems kind of pointless. Seems like it’s all been done before. But I know there is some worthwhile new stuff coming out. You have superb taste so I appreciate your take on new releases. Thank you very much.
There is a lot of great music made nowadays. Is it original? Some of it is. But then again, what is original? 😎
I don’t think you understand what the mastering engineer does. Nonetheless, thanks for the highly insightful comments on the music. Your space is such a pleasure to look at. I look forward to your future videos.
Thanks for your compliments. However I would like to know why you said that I don’t understand what a mastering engineer does. Isn’t the mastering engineer responsible for the volume level going to the cutting lathe? 🤔
@@fidelios_frequency The cutting engineer would need to make that decision.
@@PrismApplied the mastering engineer many times is also the cutting engineer. Maybe you should read about what Kevin Gray, Ryan Smith and Bernie Grundman do. They master and cut. 😊
@@fidelios_frequency "Mastering" is the last subjective decision making process in the creation of an album, and is done before "cutting". Mastering may involve equalization (balancing frequency response), leveling relative amplitude between cuts, adjusting spacing between cuts, using other signal processing devices or software (for adding echo or compression, for example)... in other words, all the last minute adjustments to the music after mixdown of the "master tape". Adjustments through mastering are typically required, because individual tracks may be recorded at different locations, at different times, using different equipment, different instruments, different players, etc., etc., requiring that the final product have some smoothing done to it to create a more integrated, consistent feeling whole. Cutting is the last step in production of the physical lacquer, which will ultimately be used to produce vinyl records. During cutting, the master tape is played back, mastering adjustments are applied to the signal, and that signal is then sent to the cutter head.
@@PrismApplied thanks for the explanation. However, the Billie Eilish record was recorded digitally. There was no tape, just a digital file.
I love that Lenny album as well! Lenny is suck just a great artist and so much an independent soul and true to himself! I’ve never not liked anything he does just for those reasons!
I wish more people would listen to his music. So much better than a lot of the other albums in the charts. 👍🏻👍🏻😎
I picked up a copy of that Jessica Pratt album after Jose mentioned it. It’s growing on me; definitely cloudy at times. Picked up a signed one online via Amoeba 😄
Lenny!
@@ConcertBuddieTK421!
Sweet! It was a discovery for me. That first track got me hooked right away.
I was on the fence about the Beth Gibbons but you convinced to cop one. The packaging and pressing tipped the scales. Fidelio may I recommend something that may be in your wheelhouse but may have escaped your attention - check Alice Russell's I Am. It came out last month and is my contender for album of the year. I think you will enjoy.
@@roberttaylor2035 Alice Russell is on my radar, but I haven’t had a chance to listen for it yet. Thanks for the reminder. 👍🏻

I have 10 copies of the 4 Blue Nile albums on vinyl. The first two being 1st pressings of AWATR and Hats. I have everything else they have released on single and CD single. The sum total of their work adds up to just under 50 songs. Salutations from Belfast Northern Ireland 🇬🇧
I have pretty much everything they’ve released on vinyl (and on cd) except for a few 12” singles & 7”.
@@fidelios_frequency . It only took me 2 years to get the lot. I even have a promo pressing. To do this now is impossible unless you want to spend a small fortune.
I n Britain were these turntables are manufactured the Rega dealers would never use a courier service, my local dealership set up the turntable in the shop and installed it in my home for no additional cost. I have owned theP6 for about 4 years and have had no problems
I wish I had someone come to my house and set up the turntable for me! Thanks for watching 😊
I saw The Blue Nile at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall in the early 90's. Hats is a masterpiece, and I'm glad you enjoy listening to them.
Lucky you! I had tickets to see them in the late 90’s in NY but they canceled the tour due a death in the family. They never rescheduled.
I got the Little Richard but swapped out the Alice Coltrane for Don Blackman.
I’m thinking of getting the Don Blackman when it gets repressed
The stones made the ultimate deal. Holding up their side of the bargain. Wine ,women , music ,drugs and lots of money.... A very scary dark path....
I am surprised Rega didn't put a grounding lug on the power supply, I had noticed from watching another video about the P6 that the chassis grounding wire inside the power supply was connected to the silver screws on the back, but who would have known that??
Yeah, you would think? 🤔
This is Devil music!
👹
What was the music that you played over the footage? Sounds great!
They are tracks I created myself through GarageBand. Thanks!

One of the best songs ever written. 😍
Well shot! Thank you for sharing. Loved the crowd singing along. I wonder how many times he's sung that song?
Thanks! People were singing on all the old songs. Distant Sun, Fall at your feet and Weather with you especially was phenomenal. ✌🏻
That was great!! Nice angle too !!
Thank you!
Those VMP releases for free Jazz are a no-brainer. Sound great, and much cheaper than a clean OG!

The Lemon Twigs are soo great ❤ I was old Pet Shop Boys in the 80’s 🤗 The last album is okey, maybe i must stream that more. 😎 Thks for the video, we need more videos with new music 🤗
I agree. I will try and make another new music video soon. 😊
Rock on 🤟
🎸🤘🏻😈
You closed me on PSB (I like the singles) - ty! St. Vincent seems dark on this one (I will keep streaming) vs. Daddy's Home (fav)? HIGHLY recommend your hometown band Vampire Weekend's Only God Was Above Us (clear x2) & Cage The Elephant's Neon Pill (pink/purple)...both dead quiet and perfectly mastered to vinyl...both arguably Grammy level releases.
I have the first couple of Vampire Weekend albums but then lost interest. I’ll give the new one a listen and Cage as well. Thanks!😊
One thing the Stones always went big with stage set up every tour. Great clip thanks for dropping it.
Glad you enjoyed it
