    I love that Lenny album as well! Lenny is suck just a great artist and so much an independent soul and true to himself! I’ve never not liked anything he does just for those reasons!

      I wish more people would listen to his music. So much better than a lot of the other albums in the charts. 👍🏻👍🏻😎

    Excellent reviews on these new drops, ty for sharing your takes! I have floors to clean tomorrow and will be streaming Kravitz & Crowded House to demo based on your recommendations. I am really looking forward to Empire of The Sun's 4th lp later this month & loving Khruangbin's latest lp, "A La Sala" (we are seeing them in Oct in STL).

      I haven’t had a chance to listen to Khruangbin yet. Thanks for watching. 😊

    I’m not generally interested in new music. Most of it seems kind of pointless. Seems like it’s all been done before. But I know there is some worthwhile new stuff coming out. You have superb taste so I appreciate your take on new releases. Thank you very much.

      There is a lot of great music made nowadays. Is it original? Some of it is. But then again, what is original? 😎

    I picked up a copy of that Jessica Pratt album after Jose mentioned it. It’s growing on me; definitely cloudy at times. Picked up a signed one online via Amoeba 😄

      Sweet! It was a discovery for me. That first track got me hooked right away.

      I was on the fence about the Beth Gibbons but you convinced to cop one. The packaging and pressing tipped the scales. Fidelio may I recommend something that may be in your wheelhouse but may have escaped your attention - check Alice Russell's I Am. It came out last month and is my contender for album of the year. I think you will enjoy.

    I don’t think you understand what the mastering engineer does. Nonetheless, thanks for the highly insightful comments on the music. Your space is such a pleasure to look at. I look forward to your future videos.

      Thanks for your compliments. However I would like to know why you said that I don’t understand what a mastering engineer does. Isn’t the mastering engineer responsible for the volume level going to the cutting lathe? 🤔

    • @PrismApplied
      @PrismApplied 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@fidelios_frequency The cutting engineer would need to make that decision.

      @fidelios_frequency  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@PrismApplied the mastering engineer many times is also the cutting engineer. Maybe you should read about what Kevin Gray, Ryan Smith and Bernie Grundman do. They master and cut. 😊

      @PrismApplied 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@fidelios_frequency "Mastering" is the last subjective decision making process in the creation of an album, and is done before "cutting". Mastering may involve equalization (balancing frequency response), leveling relative amplitude between cuts, adjusting spacing between cuts, using other signal processing devices or software (for adding echo or compression, for example)... in other words, all the last minute adjustments to the music after mixdown of the "master tape". Adjustments through mastering are typically required, because individual tracks may be recorded at different locations, at different times, using different equipment, different instruments, different players, etc., etc., requiring that the final product have some smoothing done to it to create a more integrated, consistent feeling whole.
      Cutting is the last step in production of the physical lacquer, which will ultimately be used to produce vinyl records. During cutting, the master tape is played back, mastering adjustments are applied to the signal, and that signal is then sent to the cutter head.

      @@PrismApplied thanks for the explanation. However, the Billie Eilish record was recorded digitally. There was no tape, just a digital file.
