my first time on the Nordschleife was crazy
Sorry for the bad audio quality, didnt have the time to set up my Audio Recorder properly :,)
Laptime was about 9:00min BTG
As said in the tItle, it was my first time on the Nordschleife Touristenfahrten so i didnt have the balls to go any faster. I learned my track knowledge from Sim Racing, which made it feel like ive known the track already.

those bikes should have 72hp. Why 48? Obligated to limited the power in your country?
@@dokterkarel yes exactly
EDIT: see below comment lol .... Are you fr? This bike should be 34hp ( never existed with carbs limiting it to 48hp) and when seeing this video it looks that this bike is 34hp only on its police papers :D
@@_sahaathyva_4791 I'm BE. And I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. These bikes should have 64hp. I said 72hp before but I was mistaken with the next gen SV650 which has 72hp, such as mine.
@@_sahaathyva_4791 Here in germany we got "A2" regulations. If you get your license at the age of 18 years old, youre only allowed to drive bikes up to 48hp for 2 years. The Bike is restricted by the throttle, not the carbs. Thats why it only loses a few kph topspeed compared to the original 70hp, the enginge got the same Power, but the throttle is limited to the equivalent of 48 horses ^^
@@dokterkarel full power is 70hp for carburator one and 74HP for the MKii sv650 (injection one) IIRC

I think "its absolute limit" requires the rpms to be higher

Nice, I had the 1000 once with twin remus and a dream machine gsxr paint job. Baffles out sounded amazing, you get alot of bike with sv, s!
having the guts to take a blackbird on the Nurburgring is wild! Even more wild with a bunch of cars there. How'd you feel about the linked brakes during tail braking? I wasn't so fond of them when I had my Blackbird...
@@pratmak I didnt really trailbrake hard cause it was my first lap and id rather brake too early, but the rear felt a little slidy during hard braking so i definetly wouldnt test the limits 😅
@@mariuslk8968 my biggest concern was if the rear would lock up, because there’s no way of controlling that with linked brakes. Getting skiddy with linked brakes can be sketchy😂 that’s why I kept my SV so I could improve my technical riding. But being able to ride a blackbird and SV is an awesome opportunity

Bleib sitzen.

Hello, I have some doubts about the SV650S, I hope you can clarify them. Is it normal for the handlebar to be really hard to turn? I also find the throttle grip so hard to turn comparted to the GS500 I used to have, so I was wondering if that is normal for that model.
Shouldn't that bike have preload adjusters on the front shocks? I thought it was only the naked one that came without preload adjuster. I have a gen1 and both sets of front shocks have preload adjusters.
@@Mekanikern I really dont know, i havent played around with the suspension much, only swapped the rear shock and did some preload adjusting on the rear
@@mariuslk8968 what rear shock did you get? I need to upgrade mine… 😁 Just ordered a GSXR rear wheel on ebay, hoping to swap this winter to go from 4,5" to 5,5" rim
@@Mekanikern i only bought the stock one but with less milage, bc my old shock was leaking and bouncing in corners 😅
@@Mekanikern there are some aftermarket ones from YSS they should be fine, i also heard about people putting in the gsxr600 shocks in there with little modifications
@@mariuslk8968 I’m looking at a ZX10 upgrade, I think some year models are a drop-in upgrade. Mine is bouncy without leaking 😁 Had the front shocks rebuilt with thicker oil but it feels like it’s getting softer so I may look at a GSXR swap there too. The SV is really nice for the money 🙂

I envy your down-shift skill. I recently got a yellow gen 1 and I find it much harder to rev-match than my old mc.
@@m.n.8957 if your old bike was a 4i you might be engaging the gears the other way. You really only need two ignitions with extra gas to unload the gears, after that it'll change and the revs will sort of float while it settles. Also these bikes are carbed so if you're used to early 00's FI gas response your timing might be even more off.
@@TijmenHatesadshow would the response be different? Was EFI response just a lot slower back then?
@@happyrobot6396 yeah older FI systems have a bit of lag for sure, enough that I think it would throw off your timing for a bit.

You find the SV happy clutchless shifting?
@@maxpane657 Yep Gear changes are way more smooth clutchless 😅
That's some nice riding! Feels pretty smooth going by the video. I notice you sometimes scrape the pegs a bit: i have the same bike (1999 650S, in yellow!) and ive noticed that for me i get more corner speed by hanging off a bit more and keeping the bike a bit more upright. They can hit the ground if the surface is a bit uneven but it's not like my other bikes where i have to bring replace the feeler sticks every once in a while. Does it feel the same for you, or are you simply keeping a bit of lean in reserve in case you need to adjust your line?
@@TijmenHatesadsThanks for your tip! But what you can hear was my knee scraping, not the pegs 👀 I always keep some lean as a reserve for mistakes
