I'm a 45 yr old momma with 3 kids. I have only converted 1 of my kids...i will keep persisting. This anime is amazing. The storyline is one of the best stories i have ever had the pleasure to witness

15:37 "is it done already?" 😂I felt the same way after each episode and had to binge seasons one and two until I caught up, then had to wait for what seemed forever for the next season to come out.

The English dub for this anime is one of the best in anime, it's better if you plan to upload videos of reactions to TH-cam specially for the tiny subs, just something to think about for future animes. English dub used to be awful, heck the soundtrack was changed from the original sometimes for some reason... but that's not the case anymore.

a drawing that shaped is what we call cartoon... anime has a lot more going on. not for children. especially for AOT with this kind of genre. adult should use more brain watching it and not taking it at face value.

I would suggest watching it in dubs for you first timers that will make it more easily digestible ..... and maybe more Immersive.....

So many people miss out on incredible stories because of its form of media. Animated films, anime, video games. If you’re kids say it’s the best show try and keep an open mind going forward

Don't worry so much about relating through life experience. You guys bring up The Walking Dead a lot and I'm pretty sure nobody on the couch has lived through a zombie apocalypse. 😂 Rather, zombies can become allegories and represent innate human fears. The uncanny manner of the titans, the hopelessness you feel in face of an insurmountable challenge, and the morbid idea of being eaten is the same.

funny how its always perceived that animes are childish by "other" adults.....yet here we see said adults talking about whether the titan is a female or male because they dont see any genitals, not paying attention to the actual trauma that's being shown.....then if you ask them they'll say they didnt understand anything.

To the lady who said this would make a good movie. I can totally understand that thought process but I’ve come to realize that there are things that an animated medium can do that live action could never effectively reproduce, even with an unlimited budget. Animators are able to exercise a level of expressiveness and control over the image that is impossible to match with live staging and real actors. This may in fact be the superior form of storytelling, especially for a large scale epic such as this.

I have to disagree with some of the responses here in that I think the haters had a point, especially on those first few episodes where you guys obviously had blinders on and perhaps hadn’t adapted to the medium yet. I think it’s fair to be frustrated when someone doesn’t seem to be giving something that you love a chance, and most of us have experienced some level of that with the people in our own lives so it hits close to home. But I also have to agree with those here saying that you deserve a round of applause for even going on this journey to begin with. And as the episodes go by I can see you starting to glimpse some of the beauty that we see in this story and this medium as a whole. Please keep going. Most of us have parents that will never even attempt to understand so seeing you do this is a nice consolation prize.

The fact that they had to go back and rewatch it again DUB and connected with the characters better, shows they just need to watch it that way and not SUB. SUB is great but damn the DUB is the way to watch it.

Well yeah, to be fair, I think it all boils down to generational gap in regards to relating to a story/show/film. As the anime industry boomed by the last few decades of the 20th century, us youngsters are so used to a story-rich animation culture. You'd be surprised that so many animes out there are made and especially catered to adults instead of kids. So, in a way, for us, we can easily relate to anime/animation as we do to stories that came out of real historical events - even if it’s fantasy or sci-fi genre. Again, thank you for being honest and for reacting to one of my favourite series. I really hope that you'll enjoy the rest of the story, trust me it is all worth it! Every question will be answered and most of it in the least expected way! 😂

Some close-minded people out there acting as if people only can react in one way to something they liked or their view of the world - and then, they have the gall to persecute those who beg to differ. Just for some clarity. Pyxis is transparent about the "Operation" to retake Wall Maria in order to stress how vital the outcome of the Battle for Trost is. When Wall Maria fell, thousands upon thousands of refugees had to be sent to their death in order to supply the remaining population with enough food. If the next wall fell and another refugee crisis happened, the soldiers wouldn't just be fighting titans. They would have to fight their neighbors, coworkers, and friends in order to survive due to the conditions that would be created in an even more cramped living space. Rule of law sometimes goes out the window in times of crisis, and Pyxis believes that their society would crumble into senseless violence because of these factors. So, he's saying, "Fight with me here against these Titans for a 'civilized' future, or fight against one another in the weeks to come." He's just not going to lie about their choice, like the ruling government did with their previous plan.

I love this group and their ideas.

As first time anime viewers it would be easier watching the dubbed version so you can pay more attention to the visuals and not have to read. It can also make it hit harder because it carries more weight in your native tongue.

Overall I would describe Attack on Titan as a sobering look at the reality of war and repeating cycles of violence and abuse. It’s one of those shows that can really make you question the perspective and narrative we are fed by mainstream media.

This is going to be us in 20+ years watching new anime’s😂
