Kings Plus 270 Tourer XL Freestanding Awning
My personal review of this Gigantic Freestanding Awning which we have installed on our Mobile Camper.
The Kings Plus 270 Tourer XL is currently the biggest in the market, and certainly well built. We needed a decent awning system that would wrap 270 Deg around our camper and offer very quick setup & pack up time. This product certainly fitted our requirements well, so we wanted to share our experiences with the product for others wanting a similar solution for a 4X4 camper or mobile Unit (perhaps even retail Trailer ?).
Our views are independent and not associated with the seller or suppler of the products.
Adventure Kings 270 degree Awning Review (XL Extra Large version)
Gigantic 14.57sqm Coverage | Perfect For Large 4WDs & Camper Trailers.
Compaired to many other brands we looked at such as RMR, Darche, Bushwakka ARB Touring , Maxi Trac, Rhino Rack and even Oztent options, we believe this was the best option, in the Batwing style of Awning.
Tell us what you think of your Experience in the comments below.

    Thank you, that is excellent demo. I have tried so hard removing rhizome of bamboo with a hoe, twisting and only the smaller bits would come out. I will buy a long heavy wrecking bar and try what you do. I hope I have the physical strength to manage it.

    Great video, however, probably for many, the steam handle breaks because the valve is wearing and it is very hard to operate. So your new handle will probably break again. Well, this was my case at least.

    Thanks so much for showing this method. The bar works and you need something that strong to make an impact, but it is still a horrible slow slog nibbling away at the clumps of a huge bamboo planted more than 20 years ago! I found the bar and a mattock was a good combination.

  • @L-36
    @L-36 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    A Milwaukee ax Sawzall blades 12inch 3tpi will cut the roots even in dirt. That damn blade made a nice cut in the fence post concrete when I accidently tried to cut it. It also helps to use a 2x4 under the pry bar as a fulcrum. That said, the bamboo I deal with is way bigger than what you have. The shoots are 2 inches in diameter and the root balls are hard to lift. I would use a pry bar like you did for that kind of bamboo.

    Great idea. I had to use a grubbing axe that is at least an axe you dont mind blunting and potentially breaking. Bamboo roots really are tough to get out. The wrecking bar is a great idea as is water pressure. If no pressure hose, I reckon its worth soaking the ground prior to working. Good advice.

  • @billdavis3957
    @billdavis3957 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    In my opinion the roots will grow back in a year. The bamboo plants on the other side of the plants will grow and push down the fence in a few years.

  • @rufiorufioo

    Yeah so I have absolutely a massive patch of golden bamboo roots to dig up. Have a excavator coming eventually to rip them up. I will use my wrecking bar for the smaller roots on the outside diameter of the patch.

    Great instructions, gave me the confidence to replace the steam control myself, but misses the obvious… first try easing off the broken steam handle before disassembling the coffee machine - this could save you a lot of work (as it did me!)

    The power saw method does work. I even use a blunt blade. Removing bamboo from containers and the ground. Cut down the bamboo. Dig as much soil away to start then start cutting away at the roots. Use force to pull up the roots from the soil once cut. Recheck the cleared area for stray roots. It’s always a hard job. With the pressure wash you make a mess and mash up the form of the soil.

    Seen my Bamboo send roots out 60 feet under ground. The horizontal root comes in about 9" sections ,each capable of starting a new bamboo system all by itself. Trick is to lop off a bamboo stalk about 3-5 foot high and within 30 second pour a half teaspoon of Roundup into the "cup" of the stalk. That will kill the root for about 5ft in each direction. Diesel, gas or bleach will kill the stalk and the 18" long section of root on ether side. The best mechanical removal method is a strong tractor with a 12" deep plow. Or cross cutting the area with a trench digger after stalks have been cut.

    My son just completed the removal of clumping bamboo using this method. The bar actually bent! It was very heavy work but it took about 3 hours. The area was 2 ft wide by 3 feet long. I planted one single bamboo 4 years ago and that is how much it spread. I tried the salt, vinegar and soap method to no avail. Now I will tackle the papyrus which is also very hellish in its agression. My son will use the same method.
