How to fix your pool heater . Why Pool Heater Won't Start . Pool Heater Problems ?? [Air source heat pump pool heaters]
How to FIX FLOW SENSOR error (water flow errors) on a swimming pool swim spa or hot tub Heat Pump unit.
If you have a problem with your pool heater in that it will not turn on or fire up, most commonly this problem is from a protection sensor (safety switch), such as the flow sensor (or related over temperature sensor i.e. thermister temp sensor).
(If you have a sand filter be sure to backwash it thoroughly to resolve any potential flow problem there also. You should also check that your circulation pumps are running ok, as pumps can and do fail)
If you have a cartridge filter be sure that your cartridges are cleaned with a proper degreasing filter cleaning agent (not just rinsing them off with water). Good cartridge flow rates are very important.
These mechanical paddle swich FLOW sensors can often fail after excessive movement cycles.
Replacement procedure is relatively straight forward and can be done in 20-30 minutes.
Once replaced it will restart with waterflow triggered by your pool's pump/filter system flow and the error will be cleared.
If a valid Flow rate is not present it will usually stop the system flow and Heat pump after about 30 seconds of no flow sensed.
This particular unit is a SpaNet 12Kw SN-HP-120P ( HP-120P ) [12.0kW SV Series Heat Pump ].
similar procedure will apply to
5.5kW SV Series Heat Pump SN-HP-55P
8.8kW SV Series Heat Pump SN-HP-90P

Please ensure the power to the unit has been turned off/disconnected before you remove the lid and replace the flow switch
This fix will be similar on many many Heat pump units, in particular this example is used on SPANet heat pumps & Oasis Heat pumps. These are used on a number of pool brands including Alpine Spas silver spas Vortex spas hot spring galaxy spas spaworld silverspas
