Theres no debating the build quality of the Sage is better but...... what it says it does vs what it actually does are two different things. That being said, it does have some nice features. For me, if you are unsure which to choose, choose the one you like the look of as they will both make the same things in the same way and in the same amount of time. At least with two machines, you can now eat twice the amount of ice cream 😂 brown butter sounds good though 👍
I cannot tell a lie, I'm a Sage fanboy 🤓 but yes very little difference in the end product they create. You won't like that brown butter recipe Nick, it's custard based 😂
Thank you for the nudge that I hadn't published it yet 😆 until I get round to it, can I recommend the excellent Polar Ice Creamery recipe th-cam.com/video/o2ArE5TzUuY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=NXML2D-kU96knEtC
Personally I prefer the Sage / Breville because I like the design details and small extra features. But they make identical ice cream so the Cuisinart is a great choice.
@@BigSpud well I don't make ice cream so I guess that's why I noticed the difference... The temps are slightly off by a few degrees for gelato settings and my Cuisinart gelato melted faster than my Breville which is more like ice cream than gelato...and the Breville is better for ice cream sandwiches and bars and the Cuisinart is better for scoops
Sorry but I'll have to disagree. The breville takes too long to make ice cream and therefore it can be icy. It's a very well known con about that machine. cuisinart is cheaper, quicker and makes better ice cream.
@@Gooie69 I can only speak from my experience. In my tests both machines made ice cream at the same rate, and in over 9 years using the Smart Scoop I've never had an icy final result.
I love the ice cream truck song at the end of the churn cycle! Not a necessity, but that's a fun feature.
Silly but gets me every time too!
I ❤❤❤ my Breville Smart Scoop. Took ten years for me to be able to get it, and boy was it worth the wait.
Glad you enjoy it!
very happy with my sage. I still think it's overpriced but it's the best of the lot in my opinion. Your review is much appreciated.
Thanks! Glad you like it.

Won't you think of all the innocent xanthans.
Can I have the recipe for you brown butter ice cream?

Which one do you recommend? Gary Which one do you think I should buy?

Breville makes better gelato and the Cuisinart makes better ice cream... I have both as well😅
Interesting! I could detect no difference in the ice creams.

İs it really creamy, smooth and free of ice crystals. My machine never nakes icecream whithout ice crystals
As I answered in the other comment thread, both of these make perfectly smooth crystal-free desserts.
