Im gonna lose it. Ive been creating a ttrpg system for the past few months that has nearly this exact same skill system. This is rigged

I've recently been working on a subclass for a world I'm creating that allows the individual to implant themselves with runes to augment themselves like a fantasy version of cybernetic implants. Something like this would work perfectly for that, allowing players that take it to have more control and involvement in their augments. I also had an idea to tie it into a story where in a city or town there's someone providing people with these runes on a hush hush basis, pimps buying them for their 'workers' to make them more attractive and obedient, perhaps some of the weaker town guard have bought some to build their strength, even some fancy nobles have gotten a few to bolster themselves for capitalist gains. what these people don't know is that the person providing these runes has secretly imbued them with a way to control anyone that has them, and when the time is right they'll take control of everyone who has an implant to do something bad that I haven't quite settled on yet. If any players got a rune implant then they have a risk of being controlled as well but due to them being an adventurer they have a better chance of resisting the effects. I'm excited to explore this rune system and getting it to work in my world where magic works a little differently, as well as a few of the other mechanics you've made

We’ve been postponing sessions because of time but also because I was afraid of ending the campaign. Or more like, not knowing how to end it. I am running a single game since 2021 and I must add to it, that while it is good to know your end, don't be afraid to adjust. I had planned end to my campaign, but I still decided to adjust it once I realized my players developed a grudge against very specific baddie, so I will now make him be mastermind behind the original threat so they can kill him too.

Wrapping up a 7-year campaign must feel like saying goodbye to a piece of your soul. The bonds forged, the memories shared, and the stories told become a part of you, and it’s hard to let them go. Hell, even the bartender brought a round of drinks (we played at a bar) and drank to our tale.

I have a question, What Powers/fuels these Runes? Because I see them (And even Script/Kanji magic we see in Exorcist Manga, like say Twin Star Exorcists) as more like the Hardware/Circuitry/Chips and so, which need energy to fuel their effects, like say Electricity in Any Appliances. So unless you supply it the Mana, I think runes won't work. Now in your system, materials and such are needed, and as far as we know, a one time Enchantment/Creation is done and now the rune works. So if that's the case, then do the materials just Ambiently absorb or so, the ambient mana and energies, to fuel them. Is that the case? If not, then just Crafting Runes with materials does the job? If so then how? Please explain

He was a little blue kobold who was a former adventurer trapped by the Mist of Barovia, who took the name "Hugh Mann". He was a salvager, and proud owner of "Hugh Mann's Best Best Salvage" on the outskirts of Vallaki, who'd go out and pick the corpses of other fallen mist wanderers (or just steal into town to pilfer some goods). Talked like if Marge Simpson was a skeksis, loved repeating words (yes yes!), and appraised magical items via taste.
