You are covering nice bedroom communities, but you are overlooking even better areas. Bainbridge Island & Poulsbo are 5 miles & 18 miles away, with very affordable housing. Poulsbo the more affordable. Why not spend 30 minutes on a ferry versus an hour in stop & go traffic? Many ride bikes to the ferry. Some guy has a lot Christmas tree on his bike every December! We live on the Olympic Peninsula, 33 miles from the ferry & 5 miles added on ferry ride. We are 1.5 hours from Seattle, which is equal to commenting from Auburn. We live among farmland and dense forests. In addition to homes being had at lower prices (minimum five acres) property tax is 1/3 of a small house in a tiny lot in Auburn), we are from Auburn.

Lifetime resident greater Seattle area. Burien? Too close to White Center aka Rat City, too much crime; hard pass. Renton? Used to be great, now more crowded and more crime, no thanks. Kent - still a decent place. Likewise for Auburn - but a bit south to Lake Tapps/Bonney Lake/Sumner preferable. Mountlake Terrace - too expensive but Edmonds SD is good. Lynnwood - too much crime. Pass. Everett? Never liked it much but lots of Boeing workers up there and pretty affordable.

Yo, I’m a lifelong California resident, live about an hour east of Sacramento and starts to get dark around 4:30 in the winter, so not much difference tho. However during the winter season it may get as high as mid 60°s, but that is only about 15% of the winter season.

Most of homes in Bellevue are pretty ugly split entry or at best outdated homes from 50s and 60s. The ones which are modern are really out of the range of most people $3 mil and above. Sammamish’s is the most beautiful place to live on the east side especially for families with kids where larger homes are still in “reasonable” range 1.5-2 mil . Commute from Sammamish is really bad if you have to go to Seattle , but ok to go to Redmond or Bellevue. Redmond is somewhat in between . It is not as nice as Sammamish but still has good supply of modern homes in $2+ mil range and cheaper homes from 80 and 90

I am a Washingtonian born and raised here, don't move here unless you are willing to put up with the following: - CONSTANT rain. It may not be extreme like Texan flash flooding, but it wears on many with time. If you love year-around outdoor activities, this state is NOT suited for that. - Are you willing to put up woth a 4:30 PM sunset in the winter? - All beaches are not swimmable. The temperature isn't hot enough for it, unless it's a mega rare 100F day. Lakes aren't swimmable most of the year. - Hilly - If you want flat, go to the East - Allergies - Alderwood, cottonwood, pinetrees, and common grasses. Washington is full of vegetation year-around. This will vary person-to-person. I get runny noses, headaches, and sinus issues all the time. - Housing prices - We're some of the worst in the Puget Sound area - Liberal police - The crime rates have gotten pretty bad lately. BLM and Antifa were known here during 2020. It is not uncommon for people driving illegally or murderers to get light punishments. - This state is NOT business friendly - We have no income tax, but minimum wage and cost of living prices are very high here. The minimum wage in King County is now 20 USD. 16 USD for the rest of the state. - Rent prices of 1.5k gets you somewhere in a high crime area - Washington is super boring. We do not have amusement parks or outdoor events at all outside of summer. - Liberal politics - This is a blue state. If you are red, I highly discourage coming here. Your children will be taken away if you refuse to affirm their transitions. This state banned non cage-free eggs, gasoline in newer buildings, and so on. More is to come. - This state is NOT walkable at all. Even Seattle is rather poor for walkability. - If you go to Renton, Kent, Seattle, or Tacoma, beware. The crime is out of control. Dr-gs are everywhere. On the bright side. - This state has no massive floods (outside of low areas and ports). Tornadoes do happen, but they are so rare that hardly anyone knows they can happen. - The weather is never extreme

East side has horrible traffic, way overpriced and the most likely place to experience the "Seattle Freeze" meaning you won't likely make many lasting friendships, many of the residents are self absorbed techies so if you aren't, this area is not for you. The working class down to earth friendly types will be in places like Everett, Renton, Monroe, Burien, Marysville and Tacoma. But I'm just a native whose lived, worked or had business in all of these
