I was born in Seattle and have lived here the majority of my life and I’m 61, I tried living East of Seattle for my first house and the weather over. There is too cold and rainy in the winter. The closer you can get to Puget Sound the better the weather is, I now live in Mukilteo, which has by far the most mild weather of anywhere in the Puget Sound and housing is just as nice but much less expensive than Bellevue beautiful views. The other thing that’s better about it is you’re on I five which is a much better freeway than 405, also has light rail coming next month to nearby Lynnwood
East side has horrible traffic, way overpriced and the most likely place to experience the "Seattle Freeze" meaning you won't likely make many lasting friendships, many of the residents are self absorbed techies so if you aren't, this area is not for you. The working class down to earth friendly types will be in places like Everett, Renton, Monroe, Burien, Marysville and Tacoma. But I'm just a native whose lived, worked or had business in all of these
These prices are insanely high. Who the hell can afford them? We are going into a deep recession/ depression. These properties will be sharply reduced in price.
I’m a native. Bellevue is barf, bridge and tunnel, new money no culture. Delicate transplants please move there, it’s perfectly clean and void of a soul, shop to your hearts content and don’t worry about having to walk anywhere or be near yucky people. And if you’re feeling adventurous you might try taking public transportation. Seattle and all of its surrounding neighborhoods are fantastic. Locals are rare, but if you meet one you’ll get them confused by a east coast New Yorker, we are blunt, have a dark and dry sence of humor peppered with a cynical love of our city and skeptical of the outsiders who constantly confuse themselves as a native just because they have lived herefor 25 yrs. If you want to move to Seattle because it’s “cool”:, sorry you missed that about 25 yrs ago. Gone are our grungy logger bars, and the unique and practical businesss owned by real people, replaced by cheaply made dotted with square stucco boars randomly placed with soon to be outdated color schemes. In 20 yrs seattle will look like a rundown outdated dilapidated city that fell apart trying to stuff “affordable “ housing into every inch we used as a backyard accommodate our addiction to outrageous rent hikes every 6 months. I once ran over bill and melinda gates as I ran out my house to the bus, he must of been slumming it in Seattle. You’ll be shocked at the amount of homeless and drug addicted, considering the number of super rich billionaires that live here, unless they were swept away to another part of the state so you don’t have to be uncomfortable by their presence. 5% of those billionaires bank accounts would detox, rehab, train and house our homeless. Not sure where our pot tax money is? More than likely used to keep Bellevue clean and manicured.. financially you are either rich, or poor., and we miraculously all blend in together, our rich look like common folk here and find the working class quaint and helpful. Seattle is not a city that works for the people that live here, it tries to be cosmopolitan, yet good luck finding a meal after 7.pm as the city goes to bed between 6-9. If you want a city that doesn’t put on Aires and pretends to be something it’s not, go to Portland Oregon, way cooler, way more integrity as a city, better food trucks, restaurants, it’s proud to be weird, just watch an episode of Portlandia. Plus the coast is heaven. Who’s this guy?
Low crime and homelessness in Bellevue but what will happen when the light rail is fully open? Some believe it will bring the worst of Seattle to the East side. I guess time will tell.
Most of homes in Bellevue are pretty ugly split entry or at best outdated homes from 50s and 60s. The ones which are modern are really out of the range of most people $3 mil and above. Sammamish’s is the most beautiful place to live on the east side especially for families with kids where larger homes are still in “reasonable” range 1.5-2 mil . Commute from Sammamish is really bad if you have to go to Seattle , but ok to go to Redmond or Bellevue. Redmond is somewhat in between . It is not as nice as Sammamish but still has good supply of modern homes in $2+ mil range and cheaper homes from 80 and 90

I remember back in the 70's when the tallest buildings in Bellevue were about 5-6 stories tall.

Seattle and Bellevue have two very different vibes.
Thank YOU for creating the video. It’s quite informative.

@@turng absolutely you’re right
I can't believe you said Swellvue as a good place.
Traffic is horrific every direction.
Home prices are easily double the price compared to other areas.
Interesting
Which area did you like best?
These prices are insanely high. Who the hell can afford them? We are going into a deep recession/ depression. These properties will be sharply reduced in price.
Thnk you for the information.
Key Peninsula is heaven. Please stay on east side of narrows bridge
Why didnt you show the Microsoft buildings, NW college and Seahawk HQ?

Who’s this guy?
So why should Sammamish be avoided?
Kind of far away from the major Seattle area but Sammamish has great single family homes, parks, schools, and streets.
Hmmm... a fixed rail train on a floating bridge?
Am I missing something?
The engineers earned their paychecks on that one!
Do you cover Redmond?
Absolutely! There are Redmond videos on the channel. If I can halp out with anything don't hesitate to reach out.
Where is the chipper area in bellvue for rent a 2 bed apartment
There are NO cheap areas😐
Relative cheaper places may be near Sammamish high school. School is not so good though. Anything on 148th near Microsoft would be more expensive.
Low crime and homelessness in Bellevue but what will happen when the light rail is fully open? Some believe it will bring the worst of Seattle to the East side. I guess time will tell.
Seattle politicians made light rail dangerous by not having a regulated payment system to get on the trains.
The zombies can already take the bus into Bellevue.
All depends on Bellevue PD enforcement then. There had been lots pan handling at street corner around 148th/20,24th. But have been down recently
bellevue isn't a suburb. bellevue is the second largest city in washington.
Spokane is the second largest city in Wa state.
Bellevue is #5
Don't make claims that are very easily disproven.

You mean cheaper homes built in the 1980's and 1990's?
The east side totally sucks insane traffic, expensive parking, karens, and enemy nationals it's basically ugly like sfv.
Bellevue sucks
Bellevue is not Seattle. 3 areas that are not Seattle at all.
Bellevue sucks. A very expensive, high end, snob filled community.
Worthless program.
