I'm currently building up a Subaru WRX for Time Attack, so youll find lots of videos demonstrating the modifications I do to it plus videos from the track days themselves.
Being a car enthusiast for my whole life, I also go to lots of motorsports events (Drifting, Drag Racing, more Time Attack, etc) and I'll post lots of clips from those too.
I hope you enjoy the videos and if you've read all the way down to here, please subscribe!!

THX for your video, you saved my day. Greetings from germany.
I am currently swapping '16 STI transmission into my '13 WRX. I was planning to use the STI axles up front, but they didn't come with C-clips, are those needed?
Where buy this tool thanks
The tool is included with the whiteline steering rack bushings. I got mine from either rallysport direct or import image racing.
Thanks
Knocking? Looks like it's the ac compressor
Can you list what you used ? Gun spray Sand paper Tool Machine I have a hood like this I would love to gather everything and start this . TIA
Does the hood still work well with the stock hood struts? I know seibon says to not use those and get an actual prop.
Yeah ot works fine. Ive never had an issie you just have to close it with both hands to prevent it from flexing
What clear epoxy did you use
We just used regular 5 minute eppxy from walmart to fill in some chips. If youre doing a big job you can use a resin from total boat but make sure you get the clear epoxy
@@nickquatrini thank you so much
You didnt finish. Freeing the hub is only half the problem LOL that dust cover is also seized on. A simple swing of the hammer aint gonna do it. I had to use a hub buster and then also a 12 ton press to push out the hub from dust cover.
link to the subframe??
Tssfab.us
not sure what year you have, but i had to pull my retainers
What's the blue part and did you lifk the engine a bit do this? I'm having the same issue with my 06 OBXT with STI 6M and think it could be the transmission making it pull to the right. Your thoughts please.
Cusco brace amd no i did not lift the engine. I dont think the transmission could cause a pull though.
@@nickquatrini perhaps the front helical diff?
What HP are you at, i ask because i received a stg 2-block 82mm car and wondering how it may compare at track days. getting 6 speed swap now
440 at the wheels
Thanks SO much! It's Saturday, I've got my wife's Subi torn apart in the driveway, and I was TERRIFIED that I'd have to wait for a specialty tool to show up! You saved me! 🙌🙏🙌🙏🙌🙏
Glad to help!!
Do not use these people for fake unreliable battery service! Use a store like Autozone or Oreilly, Walmart, or even Amazon/Ebay I drive a Toyota been with AAA 12 years and the AAA battery dates 1/24 was not even a year old and died leaving white acid all in my engine compartment. Did not work after I had it charged at Autozone for 3 hours. I dread calling AAA and this time got no text message update and the robot system sucks want a live operator that is what AAA should be. I had dinner waiting on me. The tech first drove off when I was upstairs and I had to wait an additional 10 minutes. He said 550 Maine on the phone and I texted him 555 the number in the ticket. I called again and he hung up on me 2x. Then he made me dig through my car for the receipt. It is 2024 treating me like a criminal for the receipt and every time have to tear my car apart and he ended up calling the call center anyway. My replacement battery in my Toyota compact car is a H22 and he quoted me $212 for a battery that is $110 The dude did not want to sell me a battery either he had none, since I look in the back of the open bed f150 pick up and there were only a few used batteries. No ford transit enclosed stuffed full of batteries here. Then the guy parks his big truck land states that I have no warranty no discount on my battery replacement. He clearly did not have a battery to sell me so in addition to being rude he was wasting my time. Been a member with aaa for 12 years. Then it is 20 minutes til auto zone closes and the guy did not move his truck I audibly told the druggie to move his truck he took 5 minutes even walked up with jumper cables. He was busy on the phone talking to his dispatch about me covering for the fact that he is lacking. I had to jump my own car to get the windows closed and car locked, take out and put in my own battery, and paid more for autozone battery since they have digital receipts better batteries and no bad attitude tow drivers with no batteries this is not the first time I get a drug addicted racist tow driver with no battery to sell.
Cool engine. Common for connecting rod bearing to wear out.
So what was the weight of the oem subframe
Its at the end of the video
Thanks 😊
Dust cover on clutch?
What about it?
@nickquatrini my bad it still on there. Not used to seeing so much of it. Looked like wasn't on. Thanks
Where is that body kit from?! Trying to build a friends car
Unfortunately they aren't in business anymore. I forget the name cause it wasnt my car but the company was in russia and when the ukraine stuff went down they closed their doors.

Those wrx axles are the same as the sti axles
Just different spline counts
@@nickquatrini I’m doing a swap I have everything front sti axles are damaged would I be able to use my 2013 wrx front axles on the sti trans
@abbas674 yes in fact you need to. The sti axles require sti knuckles, wheel bearings etc
@@nickquatrini should I use my stock rear wrx axles I have a 2019 sti 6 speed trans with the sti diff and axles but I don’t have the sti spindles if they fit I’ll use the stocks about to do it in my drive way
@abbas674 for the STI rear you need to use the STI axles
Did you have to do anything with the axle? or does it just slide out once you dis connect the lower balljoint?
It stays in the transmission just slide it out of the hub
really appreciate the install tutorial! gonna install mine next weekend!
why is it still yellow
Carbon does that as it ages
Hey man can what’s the part number to that intercooler tube
When you corrected the 0.6deg caster difference did the pull go away?
Thanks man you save me a lot of time 😅
Quick struts or OEM?
Aftermarket quick struts
Thanks bro
That's a 800 dollar tool 😢 I thought it will do the job itself
Where is part 2 for the rears!!
Installed them but video footage got corrupted 😭
Did you guys just cut the panels like the front fenders or did you guys cut and make tabs to weld it
And did you guys add a weather strip to the wide body and fenders?
Where did you buy the widbody kit..??
Inner race stuck on the axle. Does that happen often? In old pressed on wheel bearings it would stick on the stub shaft, but that was already out. Presumably you deal with it the same way, score the race with a grinding wheel, than tap on the edge to break it and slide it off. Too close to the axle grease and bearing to heat it. The only knock against the Promaxx is cost.
Inner race should not stick on the axle, must be rusty if it does. But yeah sounds like that's a good way to remove it
Wow there was nothing left of those parking brake shoes !
Sloppy
Holding a camera in one hand makes the job way harder
Nick, I have this same issue with my Murano for ever, nothing was bent so I was sure it is subframe moved somehow MMs. Glad you ve verified it. ❤❤
Let me know if it works out!
Do they make one for 02 wrx wagons? Front and rear?
Yup they started with GD chassis that's what they have the most of. Check out their website tssfab.us
Great to know, thanks
Is there a link where I can get one of those?
I got mine here www.dccdpro.com/product/dccdpro-universal-controller-spiider/
thank you very much brother
Great work! My '18 WRX is currently being painted from the stock dark gray, to Audi Suzuka Gray Metallic. I'm gonna be re-clearing my APR wing though myself. I only had it a little over a year and noticed it's got a couple cloudy spots (clear failure) forming (even with me stacking 5 layers of ceramic - single layer of gtechniq CSL, and 4 gtechniq EXO). Figured I might as well take care of that now, since APR's clear/gel coat isn't that great.
When I did the hubs on my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee I just used my 5 lb slide hammer and it did the job very well
Where are the torque specs?
Unfortunately I do not have the torque specs. I always just go good and snug. I'm sure the specs can be found online though
Thank you nick you answered all my mystery puzzles.
Glad it helped!
The old seal you remove works perfectly to protect the new seal as you tap it in. Exact size and the cavity on the back side protects the delicate sealing surface of the new one. No need to hunt for a socket or seal driver. Great video!
Good tip! Thanks for that!
Make sure you get a gm part it’s cheaper and the aftermarket plug breaks everytime
Did mine from underneath and it took 2 hrs
😂 I was thinking I'd do something like this too...glad you said
I disagree. All 4 tires need to be independently perpendicular to the ground when cornering, regardless of body roll.
They need to be? For what? All cars I know of with double wishbone or mcpherson strut produce negative camber when the tire goes up/ the car rolls.
@@jackpersales4920 What about the rears? And do you think a negative camber helps on all 4 corners AND left and right turns?
Do you need an alignment after replacing the rear struts? Thanks
It is recommended but I didn't and saw no difference in tire wear or handling
Brilliant!
Is this for a manual transmission? My car part dealer can’t find the axle seals, so I am looking for the correct partnumber for my Legacy ‘07 2.0r with manual transmission
Yes this was a 5 speed transmission. 6 speed should be same though I would think
Okay great. Did you have the part numbers for both sides?
@KeviNissan I do not but they are just called front axle seals, should be able to get them anywhere
That’s the problem. I only found the seals for automatic transmission.
@@KeviNissan did you try the dealer? Or check flatironstuning . Com they have a wide array of oem parts
On the. Older subaru’s you have to remove the retainer. So make sure you put some markings so you can install it the same. I didn’t think I needed to remove it but the seal is placed from the inside. The seal on a 99’ is larger than the opening.
That's good to know thanks for commenting
