you should know that is a 4 cylinder tach. it will fued with your 8 cylinder engine. they will not agree on RPM's....

Why WOULD YOU ENCAPSULATE ALL THAT RUST??? You need to rethink this, Neutralize the rust with POR15 or the like. If not sell immediately before it becomes a puddle in the driveway. You need to find someone to help restore a car and learn about proper restoring... This was an amateur job and should not be on TH-cam.

a windage tray like what Ford offered for the 289 would be an asset to the hp figures in the upper rpm range.

Hey there brother, glad to see another installment!!! I'm going to use th Scott Drake shorty headers, so apparently, my low end torque, is going to suck, too !?!?!? When I get to install my 347, is like to install my shorty headers on my engine, and then drop in the motor...Did it go in, with both headers on ? Other than clearancing the shock tower brace brackets, of course... Cannot wait, to that startup video, coming soon, I hope !!! Keep after it pal...

Way back in 1982 I built the 289 in my 67 cougar. Tried to get as close as i could to the HP motor. Bored .60, TRWs 10-1 flatops. Melling phase II cam. .460 lift .288 duration. Headers & Holley 600cfm. Ran very well, use to eat up the Z 28s and IROCs around town. Never knew what horsepower it was putting out. Years later I dropped it in a 1965 F 100.

I had a similar issue with my sideloader T10, I had to make the reverse light switch work with my Hurst shifter assembly. Nice work! :)

since you pointed it out, what happened to the back window and how hard was or is it to find a replacement ?

Just a few things, first you might want to replace the "white nylon bushings" with metal bushings, firmer shifts, "somewhat" less shifter rattling (available from Hurst [holley] as a "pit pack" or something like that. Second, at least for me (1967 mustang with a center console) you have to remove the shifter to install the transmission and install the shifter onto the side of the transmission once the transmission is in the car (bit of a pain) but it is what it is.
