What grit did you wet sand with? I would have sanded back the first high build coat until it was smooth and then added a second coat after, for wet sanding with higher grits. That orange peel might have been from too low of temps outside?
I used 320 - ultimately I sanded it back smooth & sprayed a new coat. It looks okay enough for now; I'll respray the hood again at some point. It's summer in South Carolina, temps definitely weren't too low. 😅
I feel your pain... repainting my 66 Fastback (black too) this month....same deal...learned to spray on a boneyard hood with single stage paint, 1 part reducer...then clear over top ....not easy... GT350 tribute?
