    Hello could you please tell me which clay and where you purchase it from, I thought I would elaborate on the lovely design you are making here, which I made last year when I watched your great video tutorials, are you doing anymore building projects with your clay. Hiya and thanks for watching this tutorial again and making the project. I have used a clay called PB10 which is a stoneware clay but almost porcelain - so very white when fired. I generally use this clay for throwing as it can be tricky for handbuilding but if you let the slabs dry out a bit it's manageable. I am hoping to get back to videoing tutorials for TH-cam. I'm afraid life has rather got int he way and I don't have as much free time to dedicate to this at the moment. Thanks for the message. Very kind. Sarah

    Can you use kiln wash on the cookies ?

    • @thepotterycorner
      @thepotterycorner 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hiya and thanks for watching. you could use kiln wash on the cookies but it's not really needed. I tend to use cookies smaller than the circumference of the pot so that if any glaze drips down it doesn't stick the cookie to the piece. Hope that helps.

    I'm intimidated by porcelain. Why won't white stoneware work?

    • @thepotterycorner
      @thepotterycorner 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Jessica - Porcelain can be intimating but it really isn't too difficult to work with. See if you can get a sample pack of perhaps a 1kg pack to give it a try. You can, of course, use normal white stoneware but the hydrangea heads are not quite so fine if using this. Thanks for watching and hope you have a go at this lovely project.

      Hi and thanks so much for watching. I love monoprinting too and what Iike best is the uniqueness of the pieces - no two will ever by the same. Glad you enjoy it too.

    I am interested to know if this is possible, I too have an underglaze black pencil ZQ0069 from Amazon, it’s arrived and I have onto once fired ceramic piece brushed on Duncan Concept, I am hoping I can now draw with the pencil mentioned and apply Duncan EZ strokes to put in some colour, then fire to glaze fire. What do you think? Too much for an 89 yr old I hear you mutter 😉. ……ps the porcelain clay Hydrangea heads are all given away or bought, and one was glazed in Manchester City colours for a friend who like myself is an ex Wren, ..for her husbands grave,…( without the stalk). Virginia Rose.

      Hi Virginia - great to hear from you again. Yes - I think this could work. It is a bit difficult to draw with the underglaze pencil over glaze but it might work better over underglaze. Definitely not too much for an 89 year old ! So pleased the hydrangeas were a hit. My Grandmother was a wren in the first World War. She hailed from Weymouth in Dorset.
