Ihavee Joyce this tutorial , I cant stop making them! also a peony flower for cane topper, I am experimenting and having such fun, thank you so much …VR
Thank you so much for the tutorial. I'm using it as a top to an urn. I wish I had used porcelain but I only had b mix. I also wish I had rolled the clay thinner. I'll send a picture when it's done.
Thank you so much for sharing your progress…I am so excited to try and make some of these for my daughter’s wedding in May…Wish me luck I have never worked with porcelain sooo this going be a fun adventure!🇨🇦
Kate - that is so kind of you and very much appreciated. You know the work that goes into this and I am grateful for your support in buying the kit and a cheeky Super Thanks. Top Fan badge to you. xx
Have you ever tried covering the clay with cling film and cutting the flowers through it. I use that technique with other cutters and it gives as nice edge and is easy to remove.
Absolutely! but unfortunately the texture on the stamp did not show through the cling film which is why I didn't do this on this video. Thanks for watching. 😊
Thank you so very much for your kind Super Thanks donation. It really means a lot to me that you enjoyed the tutorial and wanted to send me a tip. Really hope you enjoy the making of this project. Kind regards Sarah
Hi, Thank you for your new video. I’m going to work for the first time. It’s going to be very nervous but also enthusiastic about it. Regards from Belgium
Hi 😊 thank you so much for sharing your knowledge ❤❤ I would love to give it a try with porcelain but I'm a bit "scared". Do you have a video on how to work with porcelain? Thank you in advance.
Great tutorial!!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge & skills!! Can you show us or tell us the second cutter that you used for the petals on the mop head hydrangea? Those petals are very different than the plunger cutters and I love that look! Would like to find that cutter!!!
Thanks for watching. I bought the other cutter some years ago. Haven't been able to find similar 😕. There is a kit in my Etsy shop. Link is in the description. Hope you have a go at making your own 😊
Thanks for watching Sarah. I sell the pack of template, cutters and glass frit in my Etsy Shop if you'd like to take a look "PotteryCorneratNo45. It's a great project to do.
YAAAAY! I have been waiting for this forever woman!! Hahaha. I went to your Etsy shop and you don’t have anything for the hydrangeas on there. Are you sold out and will you be getting more?
Hi Michelle. Thanks for your note. Sorry Kits are all sold out on Etsy which was rather unexpected. I'm working hard to restock so bear with me. It was a pretty mammoth project to get up on TH-cam 😊
@@thepotterycorner I can’t even imagine. You’ve been hiding this tutorial too long!! You know we were all waiting for this, of course you’re going to sell out! Lol.
Hi Debra - Yes they are uber fragile. Very tricky to transfer to the kiln in their greenware state. I leave them on the tin when they are drying and then move them just ONCE into the kiln - rather than loading and moving etc, but you really do have to be careful. A couple of petals sometimes get knocked off which is annoying but they don't usually spoil the whole thing. Thanks so much for watching. 😊
Hello those cutters don't they have a plunger to pop out what you've cut. The ones I have you push the plunger thingy and it pops out. Just curious that's all. Beautiful tutorial.
Hi Heidi- they do have a plunger but the porcelain gets stuck! It can take ages to cut enough for one head. Corn starch or baby powder is key. Thanks for watching 😊
@@thepotterycorner oh ok I'm not familiar with porcelain so good tip. I wasn't trying to be cheeky just thought maybe they were different cutters. Going to try some in a bit. Not going to use porcelain, only because I'm just starting in pottery and don't want to buy porcelain if I'm not going to use it for anything else. Thanks again for a great video.
Hi Jessica - Porcelain can be intimating but it really isn't too difficult to work with. See if you can get a sample pack of perhaps a 1kg pack to give it a try. You can, of course, use normal white stoneware but the hydrangea heads are not quite so fine if using this. Thanks for watching and hope you have a go at this lovely project.
Hi Julia and thanks very much indeed for your kind Super Thanks donation. These donations mean that I can continue to provide free tutorials for all the clay lovers out there. Really hope you have a go at making your own hydrangea heads. Thanks so very much again. Sarah Amos

When cutting out the flowers, cover the slab with cling wrap then cut the flowers, no sticking and lovely edges
Hi Margo - that would usually work but in this case you loose the texture from the stamp. I've tried it! Thanks for watching 😁
Lovely to watch - they're beautiful!!
Thanks so much Lorraine. Great to hear from you again. Hope you're well. 😁
