Congratulations Sarah on your 10 year anniversary. I'm very glad you're better and able to show us your pottery techniques and kiln openings. With most sincere best wishes.
I love to watch your kiln openings you are very thorough. I wish i lived close i would definitely join in your classes. But i live in South Alabama in the states. Thank you for doing what you do
Thanks for joining me Debra and for your kind words. I'd love all my TH-cam viewers to be able to visit but it's a long way from Alabama. Just imagine that you're here when you turn in because that's how I feel - that I'm speaking to you all personally. 😊
Sorry, I'm commenting as I'm watching lol. Love you boob mugs, and I'm sure he will be so touched when he receives too. What a special thing to do. Georgous test tile results too, some stunning combos there! I've only done upright test tiles myself but now realising the benefit of doing some flat with texture as I am starting to do more plates and always at a loss how to glaze with combos. Thanks as always for the inspiration.
Absolutely- it's a beaut but I think it needs an internal surface to get the detail. Going to try it on some larger bowls when I get time. Hope you didn't mind my cheeky mention- love you! 😘
@Lisa Dewyngaert - I fired it to cone 5.5 to 6 actually. I didn't realise Elements was low fire - hilarious! No wonder I got such an interesting result. I really should read the instructions on the glaze Pot- but wouldn't that be boring??😆
@@thepotterycorner well we would never get to see such stunning results if you always read the instructions. It's a real beauty that I think many potters will want to have a try at. Your an inspiration Sarah. Lovely to catch up with you here too Lisa ❤
Oh Sarah you made me laugh so much today!!! Yes I'm obsessed with Chips but there is only one glaze I've saved in pots of three sizes 😂. It's one I use lots and had too much to fit in one pot, so took advantage of storing them in three pots in different sizes. But I didn't do that intentionally, that is beyond obsessed 😂😂😂 however I do have a lots of pots in individual colours.. I know....totally addicted. Love your combo with the black underside, goes so well with the chips inside! Very chic!! ❤
Beautiful kiln load, as always! I love seeing all of the different pieces your students make. I would really appreciate a video on how you remove your cookies. I have so many pieces that are stuck to cookies.
I was able to find that set of 12 new glazes in Spartanburg, South Carolina. I cannot wait to try them. I found a 6 week handbuilding class and I am making a baby nightlight house. The teacher made us all make a coil pot so I made a shot glass. It was dwarfed by all of the large bowls the other students made. I used a leaf stamp on the side. Then I got busy cutting out my house!
I love the results with your sample pot. I just pulled three bowls out from Gerome, and THANKS TO YOU they were reglazed. These three bowls were going to head into the trash bin, but I heard you whispering "nothing lost if you try REglazing them". and I am over the moon with the results. Thanks for all your tips, tricks and tutorials. and your ADVICE! now to work on this glaze hoard I have before buying some of that new glaze that you shared with us. Hugs to ya friend!
That Amber Ash is AMAZING! Can you let us all know what clay body you used. Im in the States and actually have a small bottle of AA and would love to know if you used it on porcelain, white stoneware or maybe even a buff colored speckled? TIA for ANY info you can share! Thank You LOVE ALL YOUR VIDEOS!!!! OH, just got to the part with the "boob" cup....1st: its AWESOME and 2nd: Congratulations on 10 years! Whatever entity you might believe it, I will be praying that your "Almighty" keep you well and healthy.
Thanks so much Marie. I use PB103 white stoneware for throwing as it's the closest to porcelain without being porcelain (which is tricky!). I am grateful to have survived for 10 years post breast cancer and hope by sharing that women will check their own boobs! I will be forever grateful to Avi Agrawal for his skill in saving my life. 😊
Yup!...that Amber Ash is a beauty! I also got my hands on the new Mayco glaze set. I am looking forward to see what you do with the glosses. I will be experimenting and sharing too! Love that Rainforest! Thanks again for sharing! Have a great day!
So happy I have found your channel - love the test tiles. I was wondering what brushes you use for glazing. I’m not having much luck getting an even covering and I’m a tad jealous of the beautiful rich colours that keep appearing out of your kiln.
Hi Jackie and thanks for watching. There is information on the brushes I use on the glazing tutorials. I use make up fan brushes from Poundland! Cheaper than buying fan brushes from a pottery supplier. Hope that helps. Happy binge watching. 😆
My my, again so many beautiful pieces! Love that mirror with all the personal details! I am curious what you think of the new mayco glazes, I have seen them around on the internet but was not (yet) very inspired to buy them. I will be testing more jungle gems at cone 5 soon too, hopefully I won't forget to use cookies. 😅 Hugs from Bonaire! 😍😘
Hey Debi. I need to get hold of clarets glaze notes! I will pin the combos when I've seen her. Sorry not to have them. Thanks for tuning it in again. Amber Ash a complete surprise!
Hi Sarah. I'm watching your video again and enjoying it very much. I have a question about the glaze chips, you say use acetate. May I ask how you do that? Thanks so much Sarah.
Lovely Sarah, would you please share which solar system you use. Is it only for your pottery studio or whole house? I want one just for my studio and I don't know where to begin. Thank you.
Hi Kathy We've had solar on the house for about 10 years now and this feeds into the National Grid as well as running the electricity of the house and studio. We had the panels fitted when IKEA used to do them but I don't think they do them now. The solar power really helps with the cost of running the kilns - especially as the electricity costs are just so high at the moment. Hope that helps. Sarah
Was the bowl glazed in Amber Ash/Glowing Embers fired at cone 6 or cone 06? Was this on low fire clay or mid range clay? Were the test tiles fired at same cone as the bowl? If so, why such a difference?
Hey Shelly and thanks for watching. The Amber Ash was fired to cone 6 (1212 degrees centigrade) which is my usual stoneware temperature 🌡. My clay is a high fire stoneware called Earthstone Original which has a white clay body. Test tiles fired to same regime but are flat so didn't see how the glaze would move on a vertical surface. Very interesting results! 😁
Congratulations Sarah on your 10 year anniversary. I'm very glad you're better and able to show us your pottery techniques and kiln openings. With most sincere best wishes.
Awww thanks so much Kandace. Very kind words. 😊

Would love to see a video of you dremelling all the cookies off.
Thanks for watching. I hate Dremelling but there is a bit of this in the 'putting the fountain together ' video 😁
Tack!
Wow - thanks so very much Helena. What a lovely donation which is much appreciated. Sarah xx😍
Enjoyable video again. Love the amber ash bowl. So much information! dremel dremel dremel
Thanks so much Marie. I don't usually have such a Dremelling nightmare two kiln loads in a row! 😄
Your hair is growing fast. It looks pretty. Would love to see videos of the building and glazing process. 😊❤
Awww that's kind. 😊
Wow, wow WOW with Amber Ash on your bowl! STUNNING!!! Hard to believe that's one glaze on the inside, how fabulous!!!
Absolutely- it's a beaut but I think it needs an internal surface to get the detail. Going to try it on some larger bowls when I get time. Hope you didn't mind my cheeky mention- love you! 😘
@@thepotterycorner lol of course I didn't mind your comment. I totally agree with you lol. Really made me smile 😃
Ladies, love you both. Isn’t element glazes low fire? You fired this to cone 5? I freaking LOVE it

I have learned so much from you!! Thanks Sarah!!😃😍
Awww shucks 😊

Thanks for sharing. Great results! So interesting to see the diversity of your students.
Thanks so much. Never ceases to amaze me the diversity of clay as a medium and the imagination of my talented students.
Always good works from the kiln. Lovely glaze ( amber ash) I must looking for it and buy some! Big thanks!
Thanks so much for watching as always Helena and for taking the time to send me photos 📸 😊
I bought Pear Ash and I haven't found a use for it yet. Glad you approached the subject of Ash glazes...Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching again. It's been interesting as the test tiles were so unappealing- can't believe the results. 😁
Love the glaze Amber ash. I have to look for it and buy it.
I've been amazed by it! Great results 😁

Great video as always! Obsidian is so bulletproof! Looking forward to Rose Quartz and Passion Flower!
Thanks Ryan. It'll be interesting to see the new ones. There's been some interesting combos posted by Mayco too - we shall see! 😉

Is there a list telling what combos are on the test tiles? Also, the ash is beautiful!

That new Mayco glaze is good .On the getting cookies off is it worth trying a blow torch round where its stuck , never tried it myself x
Hi Linda and thanks for watching. Me with a blow torch 🤔🤔😆
Hi Sarah. I'm watching your video again and enjoying it very much. I have a question about the glaze chips, you say use acetate. May I ask how you do that? Thanks so much Sarah.
