      Really great pieces for a complete beginner having never touched clay. They really had a great time. Joyful to teach people the love of clay ❤❤

    Wow what an opening! I was holding my breath for you! Not too many casualties and hopefully a refire will fix those.
    Yes it was me who used the technique to throw the plates on a wheel using a clay slab. I've just tried some 30cm ones and hoping they don't warp. LOVE your confetti chips on the half with black, super combo! You know me, love chips! I've even made mini pots intentionally of specific colours as I'm so obsessed with chips! Loving your plates!!!!

      Hi Jeanette and thanks for watching. Bet you were surprised at the shout out!! Thanks so much for sharing that technique - it really works well and much easier than trying to spread the clay throwing them. Glad you liked the combo. Thanks to you for sharing your content too I enjoy watching you 😁😁

      @@thepotterycorner LOL, I was super surprised at the shout-out - nearly choked on my morning toast! Thankyou! I'm finding this new technique quite liberating, surprised at how well it works and so far the compression is working and no S-cracks. My problem is my lack of patience when trying to dry them slowly under plastic with sand bags...I'm desperate to bisque them. I'm being a good girl though :) Might try your half and half concept with the chips, really liking that effect. Sarah you have helped so many of us with your online tutorials and videos, thank YOU! Love waking up to a Pottery Corner video! Makes my morning!

    Brilliant video as always, those mugs are lovely for a first try and the bowl that was tinging as it crazed was gorgeous. Iv used Botz Aventurin for earthenware on a bowl recently and I had the same overwhelming surprise when it came out of the kiln and will definitely be using it again. And of course, fomo strikes again and now have to buy the one you used for stoneware! It’s all your fault if I’m poor and end up in the workhouse 😂😂😂 I’ll send you a pic of my earthenware bowl, it looks like a black hole in the base and in the sunlight it does actually sparkle! Thankyou so much for sharing Sarah, always an inspiration, take care x

      Hi and thanks for watching. I have used this glaze before but never with this result. Amazing glitter in the glaze - really lovely - reminiscent of flambe. Good luck - let me know how you get on. It does move so watch your kiln shelves!

    I'm so glad that you got better results than I did when my kiln didn't reach temp! I love the bowl with the jungle gems glaze. I'm wondering, if you took some gold metallic alcohol ink and rubbed it into the crazing, if it might add another level to the piece, making it even more special.
    Your students are doing great! What a testament to your teaching skills! I look forward to your video updates. Thank you!

      Hi Pat and thanks for watching. I'm amazed that I got the results I did - the kiln fired for at least 3 hours longer and didn't reach top temperature but only a few degrees short. Fired again yesterday- all ok - phew! Great idea about the ink - I might try that. Great to have you along 😀

    I'm in California my last glaze firing the power went out and them came right back on. Scare the heck out of me. I got luck that the kiln stayed on and my pots were effected. Sorry that happened to you. 6:00 I watch far forest (Jeanette Stevens) and she has done that. I will have to try this as it seems to work well. I love how we are learn from each other. When you say you are going to refire . When you re fire do you reglaze it and if so how much do you put on to keep same color And do you re fire at same temp

    • @thepotterycorner
      @thepotterycorner  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Faith and thanks for watching. I will refire it after adding another coat of glaze to the affected area and refire at my usual temperature which is 1225 degrees centigrade. Hope that helps! 😊

  • @marciasilviajohnson6461

    I being told if you have a kiln error, just turn it off and wait till it says 80 degrees Fahrenheit and program again the cone you wanted and start it again, good luck. I don’t know if works, I never have that problem, cross my fingers actually I’m just firing my glaze now Just a note maybe you can try that and see if is better luck. I will refire the pieces you have pin holes and hope it will work.🤗

      Thanks for watching again Marcia. The kiln was probably about half way through when we had the power cut so at 600 or 700. I was surprised that the outcome wasn't worse! 😁
