Thanks. This was very informative. I have one for the same reason and so far I've been happy. Suggestions for Goldenmate v2 is a mute button (as so many have complained about) and MOVE THE POWER BUTTON. Being on the bottom makes it too easy to accidentally hit with your foot or chair.
Suggestion: Have a real-world test instead of just plugging something in. If you had it plugged in the wall with the fridge already running and then cut the power it would probably keep it running. Like what would happen if you lost power. You did that with your computer. It would be interesting to know how long it would stay running.
I have been so annoyed with every UPS I've had as the battery goes bad before the next power outage and they don't last more than 3 seconds. I order a new battery and then the cycle repeats. I'm ready to see how the GoldeMate lasts.
I am also running an experiment. I had a Cyberpower that died that I was using on my aquarium to keep my fish alive and I purchased a LiFePO4 battery to replace the lead acid that was in it. So far it is working but am concerned the charging circuit isn't 100% compatible. I've had it on there for a couple of days watching it closely. So far so good, but haven't tried to unplug it yet. We'll see soon.

Thanks for your comment! It’s a fantastic UPS. And great suggestions! The fridge would probably run if it started while the UPS was plugged into wall power. However, once the fridge cycles off and then tries to start again, and the power is still off, it will overload. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the review, I have a unit on order already and will get to try it for myself in two days. Also thanks for opening it up, now I don't have to. ;-)

I generally just use a small blob of blu-tak to 'almost' silence those annoying buzzers. I'd still like an alarm, just not one that can shatter a wine glass.

Great idea! Thanks for watching and commenting!

That is a great idea. I’ve used a blob of silicone into the hole of the buzzer and it lowers the amount of noise I assume similarly. Thanks for sharing.

It's rated 3 stars on Amazon, but it's all due to loud fans and buzzers, no buzzer switch, and a fan that kicks on in 120v mode. I can fix those!
Question: Does it hold 118-120v even when the batteries are discharged, or does it dip to 110v or so? Thanks, great review!

Thank you! It’s held the voltage rock solid for me! You’re going to love your unit! Thanks for watching!

I’ve tested my refrigerators on a lead acid UPS and it worked just fine? I’m wondering about the surge rating?
I find when switching back-and-forth from grid to off grid on my hybrid solar system, that it doesn’t surge when I’m hooked to a UPS. Otherwise, you get those big surges that use a lot of power!

Yeah…I think the surge capacity on this unit is just not huge. It doesn’t need to be huge…but maybe large enough for a refrigerator would be a good idea for future iterations. In any case, I love my units for my electronics! Thanks for watching!

Can you tell how much capacity is in the built in battery pack? Do you think it keeps the lifepo4 pack charged to 100% all the time until power disruption? It will be curious to see how much degradation occurs over time if that is the case. Was the empty male xt60/xt90 on the internal board used for anything?

As far as I can tell, it keeps the battery at 100% state of charge all the time. I believe that plug is for the battery pack to connect to the main board. I had it disconnected at first for safety while I fussed with the buzzer initially, and then plugged it back in later. Thanks for watching!

Could you let me know if you’ve come across any UPS systems that support external LiFePO4 batteries with at least 20A charging? This UPS is very good, but it doesn't support external batteries.

i would like to get a better look at the internal battery connection. i have a lead acid unit in need of replacing. on my existing ups i extended the leads to an external 100ah battery in place of the factory 7.2ah. could this mod be done to this unit?

Not sure. But I do show in my video the battery connection. It looks like an oversized XT 60 connector. Thanks for watching!
