I have a 40 hp mariner on a bass tracker had the same issues. Changed gas line to motor like you and the impeller last was the fuel filter like you said and boat is running like new. Thanks for help figuring out the fix.

well here I was worried it maybe wasn't getting enough fuel... now convinced I had flooded it. letting it try out, I have two sore shoulders from attempting to get it to go. Exact same motor. I think fuel tank out in sun may have expanded and flooded it started part of the issue. hopefully can get it going

I use a jet sweeper on the garden hose. Just take off the screen stick it in and it blows everything out no problem and you dont even need to run the motor while doing it

Got a 2005 6 hp tohatsu was running great first pull 2 times third time i tried i forgot to put the choke in wont start now checked the plugs they are fairly rough and not the right plug either very weak yellow. Spark . Checked all the fuel lines they seem fine i checked the pan on the carb and no fuel is coming out of it any help would be appreciated

My engine is leaking oil from the top somewhere.. it drips down from the hole at the shift lever.. I can't find out where it's coming from I hope it's not the head gasket.. it comes somewhere around the fuel pump but I can't find out from where. It's such a pain..

I have a Problem with my 3.5hp Tohatsu. Fuel is pouring out the fuel vent tube and I keep running out of fuel in the top tank now. How do I fix that?

i know im late but your the second guy ive seen having trouble starting his engine and immediately start screaming carb check your compression these outboards run at high rpm so they wear quckly so you may be dealing with a high hour count engine also those mercury engines are known for being hard to start

Change your fuel too the black fuel line especially in a tank like that that's not letting the fumes out it will eat a stupid cheap liner in the fuel line and clog up your carburetor and filter , I did it a couple years ago I cleaned the carburetor 2 times before I took the line off at the tank and it was clogged with like a white gel.

Such a helpful video for impeller replacement. Replacing the unit is tricky as you and others have said. After 10 minutes of trying, I used a cheap wireless inspection camera that I've got, pushed that up the leg to find the location of the drive shaft tube and guided it in with that - done in moments. It's a Depstech camera - cheap and cheerful but really helped. Thanks again from the UK!

Love your videos! Bought myself one of theese 2 years ago and its so great! Had a 5 hp 4 stroke yahama before and i like this better. Its more powerful in any way, makes a little more noise and shaking a little more. But all in all the greatest engine i owned so far! Greetings from Denmark! :D

If you have the flow the wrong way it will vapor lock you fuel tank and will pinch your line.

Just bought a used boat with a 2006 Merc 6HP with no internal tank but a 6 gallon external. No wonder it had bad gas.

I'm having an even bigger problem. Maybe you can help me. Mine is a 6 in it runs, but it will not rev up what is causing that it. It was running fine 1 day and then it started acting up and it shut off. And ever since then I have not been able to get it to crank. I run right it runs but it only idols it will not rev up???

It WILL work , but the carb has to be jetted to match the airflow volume. Currently - the carb is jetted to match the airflow the engine can draw through a filter without ram induction. With the blower - there's forced induction / pressure and the carb is not jetted to match the air volume.

Wondering if anyone can help. Just got my first boat, an 88 ranger 393v with an 87 Johnson V6 150 vro, the vro has been removed and I mix the gas and oil at fill up. The fastest I have ever got it was 55 twice. I typically never run it that hard but I like to now and again just to keep everything in good working order, just Incase one of these fla storms pop up and we gotta boogie. At any rate, it's starting to do something weird. I can hammer down the hot foot at a dead stop and she till be at 40 mph in no time at all. Now once I hit 40/45 if I'm still hammering it down, the engine will bog, I will lose thrust, almost like I'm running out of gas, until I let it up and once she's back around the 30 mph it recovers and runs like a champ again. I recently changed the sparks which made a huge difference in start up and idle run. I noticed on my fish finder at times my battery will read as low as 11.4v at idle or no engine, but when running the outboard will jump to as high as 14v. But the last time I went out, I noticed that more than twice my fish finder shut off at higher speed and my radio as well. Bought a new class 27dc yesterday and will try that out, but the sticker on the battery is pulled out was from Jan of this year. The previous owner wasn't able to run the boat too much, so I'm not sure if that affected the battery or if that's even the issue. One person suggested that it could be the link and sink needing adjustment for over extending in wide open. Sorry for the long post! Thanks for anything you could suggest!

For a Honda 5 HP , does the pin matter at all or ? Noticed this aftermarket Trim bolt = bolted on there and is not as easy as press in , and change pin location.
