I re-mastered the Audio, Levelling the Volume of the 1st and 2nd half, De-noised, Stereoized and added a little low end. I can upload if you do not mind Twisted Trails. th-cam.com/video/HTThME7_AN0/w-d-xo.html
Out of the 1000's of performances Maynard did over his life, I wonder if there was one where he wasn't enthusiastic and not having a great time where he said "can't wait till this gig is over?" I haven't seen it.
prolly when he was`nt feeling good like when he had the flu or some other ailment, and when his son passed, Bentley ( i knew his as Doug ).
Great MF performance as always! Thanks for posting! 🎉
Your welcome!
VALVE TROMBONE? I NEVER SAW THIS?!😂
I went to EVERY Maynard concert in the 70s & 80s! What a Giant talent & Performer!!!😂🎉❤
I agree I played on a jet-tone studio B for over 50 years
Awesome 😊
Nah, not the boss. I know this for a fact. The Bell of that Holton didn't blow off from the pressure.
surely you jest, it is MF.
It's Christmas Eve, 2024 . After searching for Jazz Christmas songs and Maynard Ferguson and Jazz Trumpeters, in particular...low and behold, You Tube gave me this Christmas Present ! Takes me back over 30 years to NO, LA and hearing and seeing Pete Fountain live in his hotel jazz club. He and All were fantastic...both from the cradle of jazz ! To quote Satchmo, yes, I do "know what it means to miss New Orleans?".
Love it ! Especially like the first track Seascape. Maynard just nails that high G like only Maynard can !
Loudest f’s ever
This lineup played at my high school, one of the the best things I ever saw. Roberto was such a monster behind the kit and so nice to this star struck high teenager. A couple years later he was gone, age 29. RIP Roberto, and thank you
The Boss!
Great find !
This concert is definitely one for the time capsule. Too bad there weren't more of these concerts from the glory years video taped.
Al Hirt was a magnificent trumpeter. He incorporated classical virtuosity, for lack of better words, into his songs. He was a popular song player. If you listen closely you can pick out double and triple tonguing. He often said he wasn't a jazz musician. But I loved his style.
Some very insightful comments by Maynard. I really appreciate his take on the criticism he and other modern players received about "selling out" when they played more contemporary music. Diz and Bird we're called sell-outs by the swing era players. The swing players were called sell-outs by the dixie players, etc.
GOOD👍🎺❗️
Great!!!thank you so much for posting this👌👍
you`re welcome!
The little giant. R.I.P.
Yah!! 🎶🎶🎺🎺
Coming up on 50 years. What a freak show.
why 4g4me65? what ever do you mean?
Never be another Jumbo
The thought of Maynard playing that stuff so well live is unbelievable. Testes of stone.
Absolutely priceless live gig!!!!!! WOW
Oh Satchmo 🥺
What happened to the audio?
i dont know whats up but i can hear it on my end fine.
@@twistedtrails8128 it's better on my PC, has some distortion. For some reason my phone wouldn't play it at all.
I was listening to this last night on Mosaic disk #4. What an incredible trumpet section, and of course, Maynard!
I grew up with LW on TV and loved it! Then I got older and too “hip”. Now I realize I was probably right the first time!
LOL! I know now you appreciate it!
Listening to this as a kid is probably why I could hear (chord) changes when I got older and got into jazz. Such a great foundation for young ears!
would have hated to be in the band that followed that!
"L.A. Expression" here is actually "Fruit of the Loon". Similar charts, but not the same.
Wow
Willie Maiden.
Maynard had such great tone back then.
its just a tuba
Great little concert. Love the tune selection.
Maynard at the height of his 70’s super powers!!💪🏻💪🏻🎺🎺👑👑
Maynard is the Best! He came to BGSU in 1972-76 in the Grand Ballroom. Capacity - 3000. We had to get to the ballroom 3 hours before the concert! I never saw energy & audience juice like that!❤😂🎉
Bobby the Picc. Sounds great!
Yeah Stan!!!!

This is kind of a long shot but do you have a personnel list for this band
This is awesome, so sad they discontinued this band I definitely dreamed of being a part of it when I was in high school lol
