Young man, we had colour TV in the 80s 😂 This song is about heroine addiction and the downward spiral of that addiction. Repeated references to 'let it go' and 'I'm wide awake, I'm not sleeping' and a U2 favourite, 'bloodshot eyes', all describing the despair of their friend trapped in a habit they couldn't escape from. There was a sequel of sorts on Zooropa called Daddy's Gonna Pay for your Crashed Car, where 'Daddy' was the dealer and the crashed car was the addiction. Nice reaction. Maybe turn the music audio up a bit 😊

My "reaction" to your reaction: Your inability to understanding or grasp the lyrics and the song's meaning is remarkable. You sway your head in a weird lady like fashion attempting to appear absorbed in the music, But the fact that you DONT grasp the lyrical storyline clearly shows a lack of cognitive ability. Maybe you should stick to video games where thought is not a requisite.

He wore black leather and was beyond wonderful songs like "Trying to Get of You'.. and "If I Can Dream" his tribute to MLK who was killed 8 miles from his home. You haven't even scracted the surface he had a 23 year career, he recorded over 700 songs, from gospel to opera, he had a three octave range. He started his career in 54, I flipped when I saw him on Sullivan in 1956, I was 12, he was so sexy he made me blush. Now 80 I realize after seeing him in concert twice he is the greatest performer of all time. be Blessed.

I just subbed because of Elvis and I love and respect your reaction, Elvis is not just the king of Rock , which he never liked because he always said and believed that of course was Jesus Christ, Elvis sang every genre of Music and is the only artist to this day to be in every Hall of Fame , this concert in 1973Aloha from Hawaii was viewed by over a billion people around the World in over 40 countries , first time to ever occur and was watched by more people than the first time a man walked on the moon , Elvis set standards that will never be touched by any artist and the jumpsuit he was wearing weighed over 40, pounds ,the concert is on Video and totally worth your time At the end of the concert He throws the studded cape out in the audience , the entire concert was.for charity to the cancer drive , research this man and you're gonna be pleased you did , my two reactions to hear from him is If I Can Dream in the White suit,68 comeback special and Just Pretend in Vegas 1970, Plus you will love Trying to get to you , also in the 68,, comeback special , By the way , ELVIS Will take you you all the way to Church, The one thing that truly upsets me is that he has been overlooked in way to Many ways , Stay safe and stay on the ELVIS journey . His jumpsuits were made by Bill Belew & Gene Doucette; they began fairly simple (see Concho jumpsuit & Chain jumpsuit from Vegas 1970) & became more intricate w-more design, detail & jewels (see 1972 Hampton Roads, Virginia & 1972 Greensboro, North Carolina concerts). The Aloha concert was for charity for the Kui Lee Cancer Fund. Elvis bought his own ticket for $1,000. It was supposed to raise $25,000 but it raised $75,000.

(new sub -- Thank you.) BACKGROUND INFO: The original song is the French song entitled "Comme d'habitude" & composed by Jacques Revaux, Gilles Thibaut & Claude François. The English version (My Way) was written by Paul Anka who re-wrote the original version for Frank Sinatra. Anka changed the lyrics & subtly altered the melodic structure. The original French song has nothing to do w-Paul Anka’s written version as we know it, for the translation of "Comme d'habitude" meaning is “something that happens regularly” or “that isn't surprising.” There is a video of the original French version w-English subtitles on the internet. Sinatra’s daughter Nancy said Sinatra did not like the song to the point of hating it. Sinatra said it was "self-serving" but performed it many times anyway. Elvis did it all regards types of music -- country, gospel, r&b, etc., etc. -- there wasn't anything he could not do -- can't say the same for most singers.

Interesting! "comme d'habitude", is what I would say as a French speaker when someone asks how my day is going "like usual". Not at all similar to the "My Way" title, so I could definitely see how they changed it up, didn't know that! Thanks for subbing and tuning in, I really appreciate it.

@@DanCanReact I have a comment re: what looked like you closing your eyes. While Elvis was tame & subdued in Hawaii, you can't take your eyes off of him when watching a live performance. Elvis was very spontaneous, he could do something totally unexpected, a hand motion, a swirl around, etc., he even flubbed a few lyrics & you'd see him laugh to himself all while singing right along as if nothing happened; he even very subtly "gave the finger" to someone on stage as a joke, all while going on w-the song. Elvis never repeated himself -- he would do 2, 3, or 4 versions & performances of the same song & they were all different -- not like now where everything is perfectly rehearsed. Once he did something, that was it -- he never repeated himself. So eyes open at all times. Thanks.
