I am from the southern tier/finger lakes region of upstate NY. I left the area when I was about 12 and have recently moved back. In between I have lived in the adirondacks, nothern and southern VT as well as college in ME. I have been fishing since I was 4 but didn't get into hunting until more recently. My favorite type of fishing is chasing wild trout on small streams with a fly rod. However I also have spinning and trolling gear and own a kayak, a 17ft center console w/outboard and a float tube which I like to use to chase trout and bass on larger bodies of water. I have been hunting deer for the past several years, mostly on my own 35 acres but do explore state land as well. I also have killed a few turkeys and other small game. I would like to get more serious with the video aspect of my outdoor adventures and have purchased a newer gopro and accessories which I am looking forward to using this year to get some of my adventures on film. Hope you enjoy....
My First Buck in 3 Years!! NY Rifle Season - Southern Tier, NY
It had been a few years since I had gotten a buck so I was really hoping to have an opportunity this season. I got a doe during archery and had a few encounters with bucks but no shots. The first few days of rifle season I saw some smaller bucks and lots of does but no mature bucks. I almost didn't get up this day but I am glad I did cause I got a shot at a nice 10 pt buck coming in to check a doe. I got a nice shot on his shoulder and he didn't go far. Great way to break the drought!!

First Deer With a Bow in 2 Years!! | Southern Tier, NY (Self-Filmed Archery Hunt)
มุมมอง 6022 หลายเดือนก่อน
Its been a couple years since I have been able to take a deer with a bow. I have had some opportunities but things just didn't quite play out in favor. I had hoped to break my streak and get a doe in the freezer early in the season and after a missed shot the first week got a good shot and harvested a nice doe for the freezer on a beautiful October day.
Amazing Dry Fly Action (ISOs and BWOs) | Autumn on the West Branch Delaware River - Hancock, NY
มุมมอง 7K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
All the local creeks have been super low with little rain recently so it made sense to head to the best tailwater around and I got out for a day on the WEST BRANCH DELAWARE RIVER. The upper WB was a little high and turbid so made my down to Hancock, NY. The fishing was great with plenty of ISOs and a mix of BWOs in the afternoon to keep the fish rising. Got a bunch of wild browns and rainbows o...
Wild Trout Slam on Overlooked Stream | Fly Fishing - Southern Tier, NY
มุมมอง 4.6K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Decided to fly fish a stream I had drove by/over many many times on my way to other destinations. Had a hunch it held wild trout as it was a trib to a system with wild and stocked fish and looked like it had decent flows and habitat. It wasn't my greatest day of flyfishing and I didn't catch any big ones but I did find 3 species of wild trout and might have just scratched the surface of a reall...

Fly Fishing a New Wild Trout Stream | Finger Lakes Region - NY
มุมมอง 3.5K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
I have drven by this small stream for years. I always suspected it might have wild trout and one day I finally stopped and took a few casts. I was pleasantly suprised with a wild brown in the first small pool I fished. I did some scouting and found some access points. The next week I dedicated the day to exploring and fishing this hidden gem. I had some challenges but eventually found success a...

12 Tips/Tactics for Finding and Fishing Brook Trout Streams - Central, NY
Awesome video, my home state!
Most rivers in NY are making great comebacks. We should start getting rid of the unnecessary dams that prevent fish from moving.
Congratulations from the Adirondacks!!!!
Thanks so much!
Steuben county here! Congratulations!
Thank you I appreciate it!
Those west branch fish will SCHOOL you! A difficult river but the payoffs can be huge. Definitely my favorite fishery in the east. Great video!
I agree those trout can be tough but when you figure them out it is so rewarding. Thanks for the comment
@deaddriftoutdoors2940 Absolutely, it is almost always a matter of sizing down tippet and flies! Nice job out there!
Just watched this again, man those were some nice big browns…..
Yeah that was a great say, thanks for watching and commenting
Enjoying your videos. We subbed your channel. Too bad it's late December.
Thanks so much. I will try to put out some content this winter but haven't fished in awhile.
You need a bigger net...
agreed
Interesting to see other fishermen on the stream in mid June like this, considering it's not super close to a major city like Rochester or Syracuse. Here in WNY, the streams are pretty much vacated for stockers by mid May and from Buffalo or surrounding vacinity, the streams are about an hour or hour and a half drive away from the city. Always enjoy watching these videos even though I'm an ultra-light with 1/4 oz. panther martin, who excursively fishes wild trout water kinda guy :)
Thanks for the comments. This stream gets a lot of pressure through June but after that it is often empty.
Great job congratulations on a beautiful buck 😊 I'm in the middle of the finger lakes and had a fairly successful season as well !
Me too. Steuben county here
That's awesome to hear, congrats to you as well!
I’m curious, have you ever fished Bennetts creek. South western Steuben county ???
I haven't fished it
@@deaddriftoutdoors2940 another hidden gem. Some real nice browns. There is a nice section that is privately owned. The owner is real nice and will allow you to fish. Some real nice holes, small falls and S curves throughout !!!
I know this spot. The circular cement on the creek. Is a dead give away. I’ve got browns, haven’t hooked into a brookie in that spot
It has some impressive brookies given its small size, I have only got a handful of browns
What part of New York?
southern tier
You should name all useful information to your followers including names of the creeks other wise what’s the purpose of listening to you?🤔
I watch plenty of fishing content for many reasons other than to find the names of creeks but you are free to watch whatever you want
I really enjoy watching your videos. You inspired me to post my first flyfishing video today thank you sir.
Thats awesome I will have to check it out!
What were you're spoon sizes?
DW Super Slim 3 5/8"
Nice, im new to the area, from Iowa, cant wait to hit the lake 2025
Thats awesome! The fishing has been improving on Seneca the last 2-3 years
I dont get this trend of showing us the best part of the video at the very beginning. Although it does save me time by not watching the rest. Congrats on harvesting a nice deer.
Yeah sometimes I do the highlights in the beginning so people know whats in the vid but I see what youre saying
John luz the videos. I love small streams and I am in the market for waders. Yours look confortable. What Brand are ?
These were the Orvis Ultralights
Nice! Enjoyed your filming. Kind of a project using multiple cameras but the results can be worthwhile.
Yeah its super time consuming but gives me lots of options when editing
Nice buck and awesome hunt glad you got him I was excited watching the other deer come in to see the activity always nice to have deer around you
Yeah it was super cool watching them check out the buck
Just so you know the speed limit within 200 feet of shore is 5 mph
it was like 6 am , that shoreline has no cottages, there were no other boats out and honestly I looked at the footage and I would estimate I was more than 200 ft from shore, but thanks for your concern
NICE SHOT
Thanks!
Very nice hunt, good for you. What do you think the does were eating in the weed field? Were they getting in low for chicory or something or just grass? Good luck in the future.
Honestly I am not sure. I think they often go low for clover
Every time I go to the WB it literally stinks. No bugs. No fish rising. I am cursed. The EB and mainstem … completely different story.
Hmm interesting, I guess its a timing thing
Brown trout must be one of the ugliest fish on the planet and they are the colour of sickness, that jaundice yellow is too much for me.I do my best to avoid them.
Nice leaves more for me
@@deaddriftoutdoors2940 You are welcome.
Great camera work.
Much appreciated!
I know you are a good fisherman but your videos are excellent. Thanks you for putting the time and talent into your videos.
I appreciate you saying that. I'm glad you enjoy them!
Great video! I felt the same heart pounding that you had watching it. I like fishing in Hancock but will explore this part of west branch this winter!
Thats awesome I am glad you got some of that same feeling watching!
You are NOT in upstate NY. Upstate would be north of Syracuse or Albany. Nice buck btw.
Thanks. I do struggle sometimes with how to describe locations cause people's definition of certain areas of NY state vary although I did look it up and consistently "Upstate NY" refers to "Upstate New York is a geographic region of New York that lies north and northwest of the New York City metropolitan area of downstate New York.[1][2] Upstate includes the middle and upper Hudson Valley, the Capital District, the Mohawk Valley region, Central New York, the Southern Tier, the Finger Lakes region, Western New York, and the North Country". but I get that people have different definitions lol
@@deaddriftoutdoors2940 Sorry about that Ryan, but north of Syracuse or Albany is considered the Northern portion of 'Upstate.' Upstate is the all encompassing region that describes pretty much everythg north of Poughkeepsie. (Catskill region, Southern Tier, Western, etc) Now if you want to have some fun try explaining it to a southerner who thinks all of NY is just big buildings.🙃
Having lived in the Syracuse area and surroundings most of my life, Anywhere north of NY City can be called upstate NY.
@SiTengoTiempo you can't call 90% of the landmass "upstate".
@ Good point!
Nice Buck, I live in Hector watched some of your fishing videos and realized that your cottage is half a mile down the lake from my grandparent's cottage and we drive are boat past your cottage all the time.
Nice! Yeah I grew up spending my summers there, the place has been in my family for over 70 yrs, I would probably recognize your grandparents cottage.
@@deaddriftoutdoors2940 It is the white one with gray docks, just before the yellow shed and it has 2 sailboats and a Bayliner, in the summer at least. it also has lots of empty beach on both sides of it.
NYS is so rich in fish, game and wildlife. Well done and thanks for taking me along!
You are right about that and you are most welcome!
Congratulations on nice hunt and outcome.
Thanks so much I appreciate it and your comment!
Nice video! Congrats for your hunt
Thanks!
Top notch work on video production ! Congrats on the buck.
Much appreciated!

Congratulations on a nick buck! I really enjoyed your video. Great production value with the drone footage and everything. Keep up the good work! - Hat tip from the ADKS
Thanks so much I appreciate the feedback!
My grandparents had a camp there and we would go every weekend in the summer in the 1970’s what a great peaceful place
I bet that was a nice place to spend the weekends!
Nice buck ! Great southern tier deer right there. We don’t have big agriculture around here so deer are fed naturally for the most part. Dave.
Yeah I see a few bigger here and there on trail cam but this is pretty consistent with what I've seen for decent bucks in my area. Very limited ag in my area. I was certainly happy with him! Thanks for commenting.
This is the kid that showed you my TH-cam account that all showed you my buck I shot last year
Thats awesome man I remember you! Thanks for checking out my vid and commenting bud I appreciate it !!
