I was just there a couple days ago fishing the same stream. A lot of nice wild Brook Trout there. It was definitely fun. I felt it was way too windy for the regular river ways also. Great video
Thanks so much, I worry people will tire of watching me catch little fish, but honestly its my favorite type of fishing so probably will make up most of my content. Thanks for commenting!
It's interesting that as you walked to the stream, in the middle of the woods, you crossed a stone wall. Must have been a farm there years ago! So common in rural Northeast.
Nice eye. Yes this was state forest and most of it was bought by state in the early 20th century when farmers had largely abandoned the hillside side farms and the state bought up lots of it to reforest and stablize soils. I see stonewalls everywhere, I love seeing it but its hard to imagine these hillsides bare of trees.
Yeah the creeks are finally at a good level now. Spring is always tough you want it to be perfect but I find its usually May before things really stabilize and the consistent fishing begins.
@@deaddriftoutdoors2940 I really struggled with the rod. I love keeping the line off the water on high gradient streams and just couldn't get comfortable. Went to a 11' Tenkara rod and tore it up.
Thats great to hear! Its my favorite type of fishing for sure. Yes I have posted vids of this stream before. I usually fish it 2-3 times a season, its one of my favorites.
How could you tire of brookies. It isn't the size that matters. It is all about the spirirt. Thanks so much for your care and obvious love of the natural world.
Very nice work.
Always enjoy your content, and I look forward to more

Some nice brookies there. That can't be too far from my place in the western Catskills.
Thank you sir I was not disappointed with those brookies it was a great day!
What size & length leader are you using? 🤔
I usually start with a 4x , 7.5' tapered leader with 5x for the dropper.
@@deaddriftoutdoors2940 Oh wow. Would have thought a 6 or 7x for these. Thank you!
John, I wait for your posts. Like the others, I never tire of watching your brook trout vids. Have you posted this stream before?
