Bikes, Cars, and Chat, exactly what it says on the tin! Mostly bikes, with some car content on the side.
Thoughts in my helmet as I ride. I talk about bikes, crashes, disasters, trips, and some tales of my previous life as a surveillance operator.
All my videos are as is, one-time recording and no editing, so if I call a bolt a nut etc, forgive me 😁

I had the same e11 code but I have better luck with heating the display instead of the glow plug
I'd be interested to hear how this works, as it makes no sense?
I don't know how it works but I didn't have any luck blowing heat in the intake but as soon as I warmed up the controller it stopped giving me the code.
Thanks for the video by the way otherwise I would not have gotten it to start
@Primary_intelligence as long as it worked! A bit odd though? Maybe it was coincidence as the glow plug had just enough warmth to do its thing?
If you return the air intake back into the room the system will run better and more efficient, my caravan is contant 22 degrees on the lowest setting
@@Turbofab you'll see that's all done in a later video, and yes, a big difference 😉
@BikesCarsandChat oh is it, I watched it all and double checked but couldn't see the intake routed inside
@Turbofab it's in a later follow up video, not this one 👍
I had a RD250LC, then a CB250RS, then another LC (RZ250LC) - looks like you have an RS in the garage too, great bikes tame after an Elsie. Wish I had my CB250RS now.
@@rogerkay8603 they are tame, but there's a time and a place for just bimbling about on the RS 😉 Still lots about, and a big following, get another one 😉
Great video about the Pantah 😊 For everyone else, i was the intermediate owner who bought it and then sold it back. I loved the bike, it looked great and rode really well. I did 750 miles over 2 1/2 years, a special bike for special days 🥳 Including a Bike Shed trackday at Brands Hatch. I’m glad you have come to like the replacement headlight 👍 My MOT man didn’t like your original 😂 Now get that new reg number on the bike ❤ Ps, I was in France and witnessed the coming together which cracked the front fairing. Little did i know about 10 years later I would own No.6 🥰
@@ChasTass great days! It's currently SORN'd, as yes, carbs are a pain in the arse for an occasional bike! 🤣🤣🤦♂️
I love CB250RSs!
@ITALIANMOTOR cheers Adam! The RS is a thing of beauty 😉 Hope you and yours are all well 👍
My RD350 had reed valves, not YPVS, but it had white paint with blue stripes. Maybe they had different nomenclature in Australia. The gearbox was much the same as far as I remember. That stripped shaft thread was painful to look at. I busted most parts fixing mine but I never did that. Having both raced and commuted on mine I had about two and a half bikes to keep one going.
@@originalmianos it sounds like yours was the original LC, so yes, the YPVS was a later model. This is an original LC, but with a YPVS motor 👍
@@BikesCarsandChat The YPVS must have been a huge improvement. Mine had insane top end power as I had expansion chambers and two part reed valves but it hardly had enough low end power to pull off the line without a hell of a lot of clutch slipping.
@originalmianos the YPVS does give it a much better bottom end 👍

I'm getting a 94ah rex on Saturday, I have donloaded that app, itll be interesting to see what my 24kw leaf will do 30 in and compare it to the i3. 😊
@gravydavy4188 the little i3 is pretty quick around town! More than fast enough to beat most normal traffic 😉👍
@BikesCarsandChat good gawd. You're up late or early! It will certainly be the fastest car I've had! I've got an R1 tucked away so when I can be bothered to put it back on the road I'll see what that does to 30 mph, I don't think it'll be much quicker, 0 to 100 would be a different matter. 😁
@gravydavy4188 the joys of working a nightshift! Bikes are harder to get off the line, as you know, but would soon smoke the car once rolling 👍
@BikesCarsandChat I'm on a nightshif tomorrow night, 10 hours from 9.30, trouble is I got up at 8.30 yesterday after only 5 hours sleep, I'm knackered but can't go to bed. I need to replace the clutch on the bike and make it road legal as everything has ran out now but I can't be bothered, had it since 2007, done lots of miles on it. Won't ever sell it.
Just looked on your channel, you've got a cb250rs! I had one in the 90's, I'm restoring an xl250s. 😊

@grayharwood I bet it's true though 😉🤣
I had an RD back in the day but I've never heard of a hybrid RD, what does that mean,
@sicks6six the Hybrid term for an LC, normally means it has a different motor and/or suspension changes. Typically, the later YPVS motor was fitted, sometimes with a Banshee quadbike top end, or Banshee racing parts.
Guessing lc bottom end and ypvs top end ? Do you have the power valves and associated hard/software ?
@toeknee6588 no, it's a YPVS motor. You can't put a YPVS top end on an LC. Yes, all the valves, servo motor, and wiring etc are there 😁👍

I have a 520i g30 2019. It has departure time in app. Does it heats up the car engine and defrosts the car?
@ferozkhattak no idea for your car I'm afraid? Some ICE BMW's just run the blower, but don't heat the car. The i3 warms up, or cools down depending on the temperature 👍

Great video 👍well done for the effort in showing this! 😊 Honestly this is such a big positive for an electric car.. I have an i3 also and frankly it’s the best car ever!! It’s light, it’s got sports car handling, it’s cool, it’s still ahead of its time, it’s made of carbon fibre, it’s massively economical on electric.. it’s bloody brilliant.. !! It seems like only 250,000 owners across the world know this (because that’s apparently all bmw made) such an underrated car. Thanks for your you tubes I follow you mate!! ✅ Go go i3!! I love every minute driving it!! BTW I own an i4 too… it’s brilliant too but you lose that driving feeling it’s not the same.. it’s obviously better for longer distance and range has more power, acceleration, speed.. but it’s not the same.. i3 better!!
@nicholasroy1025 cheers! And thanks for the kind words. I love this car, it does all you've said. My only criticism would be the ride could be softer on our crap roads! But getting into a warmed or cooled car is just superb. I work in France and park the car in the UK, I warm or cool it using the app from under the English Channel! 🤣 It's then ready to drive when I get back to it, a real bonus to pull out of the carpark in the winter while your colleagues are scraping ice off a cold car...queue a Jeremy Clarkson smug grin 😁
@@BikesCarsandChatI’ve also got 20 inch wheels on my i3S and I believe 19s would be far more compliant. I might get a set in the long term
@thumper1747 you're probably right, but the 20's look so good 👌
I use the cabin preheat at least once a day, I believe it also charges your 12v battery keeping it in good condition. I don’t have the car plugged in at the time either.
@mfheli9666 having it plugged in uses mains power, which saves the battery, so I prefer that 👍

Love these. Never owned one but have ridden a red kick start only and a blue deluxe with electric start👍
@Roger_Ramjet you'd better get on eBay now then 😜👍 Thanks for watching 👍
I had one of those when I was about 19. I was always deeply envious back then of the bikers screaming round on GSXthou's and Z1's etc, cos that's what I really wanted. It was generally a good bike. The camshaft bearing went on one side at one point so it continually rattled as it ran. I got a new head for it and put it on. It was only a single so it was simple enough. Sorted. My bike was the 'deluxe' version with the electric starter. Sounds good, but it didn't have the kick start mechanism fitted. And the bl**dy thing never started on the electric starter! I had to keep jump starting it all the time. I got so sick of it that I decided to get a kick start mechanism from a breakers, and shove it in the engine, so I could start it with the kick starter (look I was 19 okay). So I took the engine out, dismantled it and put a secondhand kickstart mechanism in it. Put it back in the bike (I just shoved it in by hand - nearly killed my back) and jumped on the kick start. STARTED FIRST TIME!!! Yahayyy, done it! Then had an immediate sinking feeling as I heard a continual clicking sound as it turned over. I'd left the return spring off the kickstart mechanism and the ratchet was permanently engaged. D'OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH! I sold it after that............😆😆😆
@@alexguest9937 a great story! Yes, the added kick starter is a common mod to those with a DX 👌 Still time to re-live your yoof 😉

@bananabrooks3836 why Honda didn't fit a filter is just unbelievable 😳 I check the balancer tension each time I take the clutch cover off to check the daft gauze 'filter'. A pain, especially every 1,000 miles!
Back in the 80's I had a chance to ride a CB250rs and was impressed how quick it was but it literally felt like nothing when sitting on it compared to my GS1000S. I bought one of these new back in the day. I had passed my test and ordered a new Suzuki GS425 from one of the discount dealers in Manchester I think it was. I should have checked what the insurance was before placing the order as I could not afford it! I ended up getting a Yamaha XS250 instead but that was a terrible bike in every way. The Yamaha had less than 1000 miles on the clock when I traded it in for the RS. The RS was a brilliant bike but I did end up needing something faster after a few years as I was riding with a bunch of other people in the college bike club.
@Phiyedough that's the only thing about the little RS, they're not really fast if you're riding with mates on bigger bikes!
What it was telling you is to turn off or disable the bluetooth that's in your car natively, as that's what you're connected to, so it couldn't connect because you were already connected to the car

I loved my RS. I bought it in 1987, and rode it for the next 15 years. The only modification I made, was to fit it with Superdream wheels (also with cush drive), so I could use tubeless tyres. I used Dunlop Arrowmax tyres exclusively, and the bike handled beautifully. I averaged 10,000 to 12,000 miles a year, and with just regular oil changes and basic maintenance, it never missed a beat. Mate you've done a good job and I appreciate these bikes are notoriously difficult to restore, finding undamaged OE parts is really hard, some are impossible to find in the UK. If you want it how it was out of the crate, there should be no silly stickers on it. The sprocket cover shouldn't be black, no engine parts were black, they were a darkish semi gloss grey. I suspect you may have a 1200 Bandit engine in the bike, very common, have you checked the serial No's? Bandits produce less power in standard tune, have lower compression, different carbs, cams, pistons and clutch. The tank fill cap, except the little flap you lift up, I think it was a gold ish colour, was also grey. I think you did point out the side panels have been cut down, the rear master cylinder should be behind the panel. The gear and rear brake levers should have rubbers on them as should the top of the fork stanchions. Top edge of the screen should have a rubberish trim bit like old car door trim, there should be no cover on the headlights. They only scratch and are a waste of time, I had my 1100 H for 4 years from new, I never had a broken lens the bike was used daily. All that said it looks the part, I loved mine and raced them too back in the day, these bikes where game changers, at the time nothing could get close to them!
@Gundimuck cheers! The motor is out of a later slingshot model, hence the colour. I have managed to find a right hand side cover, so the master cylinder will be behind it as it should be. The gear lever and brake pedal rubbers are still available! The odd bits of missing trim I can live with, but if they turn up I'll fit them. The headlamp cover was on the first bike I ever saw in Bike Magazine, so I had to fit one! 😁👍 Cheers for watching and the decent comment 👍
@@BikesCarsandChat Mate the later 1100K or sling shot as you call it, still had grey engines and flat side CV carbs. Your motor is looking very much bandit! You need to check the serial No's. K motors won't direct fit as I remember, brackets and spaces have to be made up as the frames are very different. Sorry mate just how I see it.
I think from memory it's an 1127 K motor? It's been blown over with black at some point.
@@BikesCarsandChat Possible but the crabs are still wrong. G, H and K 1100's had flat side CV's those don't look like flat side CV's. The only way to know for sure is check the serial No's as said very common to find Bandit motors in Gixxer's as they're are different Gixxer's being far more expensive to rebuild. Bandit is cheaper not as trick and because there's a lot more of them. Hopefully I'm wrong but I don't think so.
@Gundimuck a check of the engine number points to a GSX1100F 1127cc lump, hence the carbs. Question solved!
