TH-cam's a fickle one for sure, and things are very regional even when you find a popular niche. Back in the heyday of motovlogging I was part of the OfficialSmo's community, a guy who rode a Streep Triple 675 on the IoW if you were around then; I was one of his Twitch/Discord moderators. He tried doing YT full time for a little over a year after he got laid off, but because UK motovloggers get such lower views than those in America, even though his videos were infinitely better, more entertaining and more highly produced, he just wasn't able to get the numbers needed to live on it and eventually had to go back to normal work. For me, I've no delusions about living on YT in any kind of full-time capacity, even if that would likely suit me better than traditional work sometimes does. I would like to get monitised some day though, even if it's just to earn a hundred quid a year to pay for a new camera or microphone now and then, or a bit of fuel in the tank. Make it a self-sustaining hobby.
Hi there nick I’m currently doing an old cb250RS up as my first bike and I wondered what tyres to get and what size etc ? I want them to look retro too cheers.
I currently run a pair of Metzeler ME22's and really rate them. I'm not sure they're massively retro, but the tread pattern certainly doesn't look modern. I did have some cheap Chinese tyres on, and they were truly awful! 😂 You'll be hard pushed to wear tyres out fast on an RS, so decent rubber will last years 👍
The old (retro) tyres had a squareish profile. Bank the bike over and hit the edge of that profile and you'll lose grip end up in someone's front garden (like i once did in Bromley)! Put decent, modern rubber on.
Not sure that anyone makes much out of YT these days. It’s all geared to maximising advertising revenue from all the free content they’re provided with. Seems that the successful TH-camr treats it as promotion for instagram and Patreon. I had the pleasure of meeting a successful TH-camr(not motorcycle related) a couple of years back……….and how he stayed sane I’ll never know.
Non-monetised youtubers like you have a bit of class because you're not that desperate for a poxy £20 a month. I recently watched a bike vid by a guy pleading with us to subscribe then he told us he works as a route planner for civil air traffic! He's obviously on well over 100k a year so I'm, like, mate keep your dignity. You dont need tacky youtube money!
Funny enough, the reason for the waffle was how desperate some people are to earn a tenner from TH-cam! This, for me, is nothing but fun, and a way of recording my drivel for future generations etc. If others like it, that's great 👍
How dare you! I’m no duffer! Oh well! Suppose you’re right! 🤣🤣
Nothing wrong with being an old duffer 🤣🤣😉👍

Exactly! I have absolutely no desire to earn any kind of living from TH-cam, I just enjoy chucking out the odd video of complete drivel! 😂
Hi, Nick. I believe that is part of the track for the power station , to transport the waste.
You could be right!

@graememorrison333 well ahead of you on that one. A lovely pair of Metzeler ME22's are on now.

Yeah, not my kind of thing, I'm happy doing it for shits and giggles 😂
