QS unveils first B Samples enabled by Raptor
QuantumScape recently started shipping the first low-volume B-sample battery cells for automotive customer testing. These B samples of our first planned product, QSE-5, feature energy density over 800 Wh/L and less than 15-minute 10-80% fast-charging capability, and are made with separators from our Raptor fast separator production process. To the best of our knowledge, these cells are the first anode-free solid-state lithium-metal cell design ever produced for automotive applications.
In this video, CTO and Co-Founder Tim Holme, VP of Engineering and Product Will Hudson and Director of Metrology Hardware Kirsten Hessler share updates on Raptor, details on our use of AI in defect detection and a preview of our first B-sample prototypes.
