    I have been “all in” on QS since shortly after going Public. This Battery will completely revolutionize the Battery market! People will be shocked in a couple of years what potential this Battery actually has and wish they’d bought stock. Great job QS!

      I would prefer to have some stock in multiple battery companies since there is so much competition. Need more money to invest!!

    That discharge rate on short circuit is insane! I guess it perfectly illustrates the charge velocity they're capable of.

    Great video the thermal runaway seems so impressive its hard to believe its real. Please continue to put these out

      It’s actually not hard to believe if you understand Batteries! A Li Metal battery with little to no liquid electrolyte will behave that way. That, combined with significantly faster charging, high discharge rates (if needed), lighter weight, higher energy density are the major reasons this technology will be the future, at least for a while. This isn’t just a new Battery, this is a revolution in Battery technology.

    I assume your reference battery was an NCM battery. Be interesting to see the test results of a LFP battery undergoing same tests

    • @conjoguam
      @conjoguam 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What difference would it make of it was LFP battery?

    • @That80sAstronaut
      @That80sAstronaut 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      QuantumScape's anode-less lithium-metal tech is cathode agnostic and, as such, will support both NMC and LFP chemistries.

    • @conjoguam
      @conjoguam 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@That80sAstronaut I understand that. But my question was, how would Thermal runaway tests would vary between NCM and LFP? Overall test results will be better, if they did a similar test between LFP 2170 and QSE-5 LFP. No?

    • @conjoguam
      @conjoguam 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      LFP offers a somewhat better safety profile than NMC-based batteries; the iron-phosphate cathode material contains oxygen, but that oxygen is trapped in a more chemically stable bond.

    I can't wait till your devices are used everywhere, however I'm a bit confused and need someone to help, towards the end of the video the ceramic separator was referred to as an "electrolyte separator". I was under the impression that there was no electrolyte in your cell. What am I missing?

    • @EddieMao
      @EddieMao 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      08:45 the host said : ....ceramic solid state electrolyte separator, and not just "electrolyte separator". And if you refer the ceramic separator as "electrolyte" , it is still ok. If it is not electrolyte, the ion will not pass through.

    • @zahari_s_stoyanov
      @zahari_s_stoyanov 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      There's always some electrolyte, be it liquid or solid :)

    • @justinmacks1481
      @justinmacks1481 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Electrolyte doesn't have to be solid.

    • @zahari_s_stoyanov
      @zahari_s_stoyanov 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @brucejankowitz4501, I forgot to write this - they've done away with one of the electrodes, not the electrolyte. That's probably where your confusion came from

    • @HsquaredH2
      @HsquaredH2 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s a ceramic separator but QS, since the beginning, has said that this first iteration will still have a very small amount of liquid electrolyte.

      Quantumscape's battery (the separator to be precise) is hard to manufacture and they have not proven scalable, price competitive, mass production yet. That's the bet you make when investing in them.

      Scalability is, at this point, the biggest risk! SSB’s have been tried and lost for Decades now. However, I do believe that QS has the recipe and backing to see it through! I don’t expect anything until 2026-2027 timeframe, which is in line with my expectations.

    I wonder if the wings of airplanes can one day be filled with these batteries instead of liquid fuel? I guess today's electrical infrastructure will have a hard time charging large aircraft if its already hard to charge trucks.

    Jagdeep was holding on till recent, he was the only one I thought still genuinely believed in his company, which made me believe there was still hope, but he started to sell shares as well... I watch SEC Form 4 report way more often than anything else. Your lack of transparency over manufacturing progress is what's holding you back.

    • @HsquaredH2

      @@HsquaredH2 I'm unfortunately long... I wish I were short on QS. And JS has a very decent salary (to my knowledge ~700K annually), what's the reason that he also seems to be starting to cash out now, if it were not due to QS prospects? I had not seen him selling before 2023-03-06. Maybe there is dilution in horizon?

      @@HsquaredH2 Unfortunately I'm long... I wish I were short on QS, could have made good money. To my knowledge Jagdeep has a very decent base salary (~700K annual base), it's not like he's one of those CEO's with 0 base salary lol. And he only started selling as of June 2023. Why not before, but recently? If cash runs out before mass manufacturing (which is more and more likely as there's no meaningful update on manufacturing, they still post 'lecture' videos), there will be massive dilution. Remember last year's ~250M cash grab after stock hit above 10, then stock tanked? I'm typing all these because I have a stake in QS, and it pisses me off to see these 'low energy' people still giving lectures without any update on manufacturing.

      Sure, multiple $5,000,000 investments will be made and more when the team can answer questions like these; Scalability, price competitiveness, mass production (which were also posted above). We need QS to recognize faults and show how the team has plow through them.. along with a few macro events would be rather lucrative
