Random stuff I make...
S. Feinberg: Piano Sonata No. 3, Op. 3 (Yi - Chung Huang)
I loved his playing of this piece so I decided to upload it. It was sometimes hard to time the sheet music right with the video as I couldn't really tell what was going on 😅

F. Liszt: Hungarian Rhapsody 2 - Friska (Excerpt)
มุมมอง 633วันที่ผ่านมา
Thank you to @FriskaPiano for filming. This was for an entry for a piano competition and was recorded on my school's grand piano. The video had to be a maximum of 3 minutes so that's why I couldn't upload a full performance. It's been a few months since I last performed this so it is a bit rusty. #piano #liszt #hungarianrhapsody #hard #excerpt

This was really tedious to transcribe and took me around 7 hours in total. Prokofiev - prelude "Harp" is on the 2nd place
Also it is surreal seeing how unnaturally even hamelin’s gliss is shocking
Insane
I like playing rhapsody 10 with octave glissandos. Learned the Waldstein first, then used that trick in the Liszt. Very fun!
Atrocious performance. The playing is inaccurate and rushed and most of the polyphonic material is neglected. It's not humanly possible to play this piece at this tempo
3:51 Béla Bartók, is it you? 😳
💀💀💀
The level of technique is impressive, but in my opinion this is an example of why faster does not mean better.
his n6 is definitely rushing, that i cannot notice whole context of the piece. monotonous, firmly, untouchable.
One of the best live performances, even though some of the polyphony was neglected and rushed over - this was played alongside selections of Sorabji and Szymanowski in a monstrous 1.5 hour recital... certainly inhuman playing
What is the tenth piece called?
Inhuman playing
not inhuman at all unless you consider the human to be the mediocre and unremarkable

Faltó la mazurca glissando de Lecuona
That is the most impossible thing I have ever seen! His virtuosity is mostrous! But i still prefer Hamelin's ingterpretation, the voices are heard better in his tempo and there is more energy, but still, this interpretation is so astonishing and tremendous!!
huang is still under 25 and hamelin is arguably the best living pianist, so he has time to improve
@teodorb.p.composer Me too, but his performance of the fugue is my favourite out of everyone. Especially the part where it goes ballistic, I think the tempo makes it sound really cool and menacing.
Very beautiful and impressive!
man really uploaded the whole thing with sheet pogchamp
I was bored. I took me like, 3 hours straight of editing though
no way!!! its yichung huang's boner concert! (1:26:41)
WHY DID YOU EVEN NOTICE THAT
Hello! (:
Hello
I would argue the Flight of the Bumblebee octaves are easier than Le Preux from my own experience with the pieces.
Lmao ofc Cziffra
How are your wrists btw?
not having totentanz on here gotta be a war crime
Of course it’s subjective, but I personally think that the Liszt rhapsody #6 is MUCH harder than most things on here - at least to play well enough to be deemed acceptable by the standards of most people today. It takes incredible endurance and is harder than any pieces I have played with difficult octaves - definitely more difficult than say Erlkonig or the coda of the Liszt b minor sonata, and harder for sure than the octave passages in the Tchaikovsky B-flat concerto. It’s not all that difficult to hit the right notes, but it is difficult to last for that long and to take a fast enough tempo and then speed up, as the music says to do. Props to anyone who can do it well.
Yeah honestly. For some reason I can play le preux coda fairly well, but give up at around the 1 minute mark of hr6 Friska
Realmente impactante y maravilloso
For a Turkish march is ez so don’t even say it’s my dream bruv, I can already play nocturne op 9 no 2 bro rn

Me thinking I’m actually quite sensible on TH-cam. Also me: commenting on a video (of a blind guy upset for being thrown out of a shop because he was blind) saying “Should have seen it coming” Classical music listeners are not sensible.
and the "funny" (stupid) thing is that old pianos had lighter keys, not to mention the ones in czerny's era...
What about chromatic glissandos like in the ghost ship by Liszts student Carl Tausig or Feux d'artifice by Debussy (played by Hamelin!)
The last clip has a chromatic glissando
I quit Animenz My Dearest just bc of the double gliss *_*
imo you shouldve used ldf's performance of the spanish fantasy, but still good video
Liszt Totentanz? Also, the only time I actually bled from glissando was practising the orchestra part in Bernstein's Symphonic dances from west side story.
you need to see Jorge Luis Prats glissando
Сколько омерзительной музыки написано оказывается
Some also play glissando the octaves at the end of Waldstein Sonata 3rd movement... could be included there
the worst glissando i have ever encountered was in ginastera's 3rd piano sonata - a triple gliss moving from white keys into a black-key cluster. ouch. i don't consider it possible LOL my favorite glisses to ever perform were those in the primo part of shostakovich's concertino for 2 pianos
1:06 its not that fast
2 is a pile of cack - how is this even included? 3 did the glissandi way too quick. 7 definitely needs to improve technique if they're bleeding.
lol ok
Problem @@potatohunter3763?
@@potatohunter3763 problem?
When I think of hard glissandi, I immediately think of the final 2 minutes from Prokofiev's 3rd Piano concerto. It's not exactly a glissando because you are playing all the notes with your fingers instead of sliding, but it's still very technically difficult and it's very hard to make it sound good.
sillly pianists, as a harpist this second nature
I suggest you to make your next video with "10 levels of interval", bc it must have Liszt Spanish Fantasy in it💀
Do you mean like ten levels of difficulty?
@@Jartious bruh I'm not sure if I pronouns it correctly, but I mean like third, sixth, octave and as more as possible
"Liszt is a devil, he composed very more charming piece, without thinking what the pianists' feel." Not said by Chopin

I have Etude op.4 no.3 in F major final is glissando

Here are a few alternate fingerings that I have used: Black keys (or any other 5-note pattern): L54321-R12345… White keys: L432-R1234… (I have used both patterns many times so that I don’t have to hurt my fingers) Miscellaneous: G, D, A, E major; L432-R1234… D, A, Db, Ab, Eb major: L23-R12345… B major: R1234-L432… F# major: L432-R1235… Bb, F major: L4321-R123… Whole-tone on C: L432-R123… Whole-tone on Db: L32-R1234 Octatonic: L4321-R1234… (This is not a comprehensive list)
Thanks for the comment! I will try the fingerings later. I guess you came from classical TH-cam slander lmao
@@Jartious In case you're wondering, for the 5-note ones, repeat every 2 octaves, but for the 7-note ones, repeat every octave (I have practiced these fingerings so much)
3:27 is F# pentatonic scale
1:43 You can do it without hurting yourself by using your Middle and Ring finger
It's cursed to see young Katsaris with full hair play
There's BLACK KEY OCTAVE GLISSANDO in Kapustin's 8th Sonata
I've heard the penultimate bars of the Chopin Etude 5 from Op.10 played as a black key octave gliss too.
Can you do ten levels of ornaments or jazz next? I'm subbed
I'll put it on my list 👍
