2025/2/2 The Model Prayer #3 Your Kingdom Come. Your Will Be Done Part 1 Matthew 6:9-13
As we continue digging into the Disciples' Prayer, this portion of the prayer may be the most difficult to understand. It brings up questions about God's sovereign will and why do we need to pray for His will to be done? Isn't Jesus already ruling and reigning? Why pray Your kingdom come? Let's see if we can answer some of these questions.

God offers the free gift of salvation through Christ, yet so many reject Him.

มุมมอง 719 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา
So often, when we go through this prayer, we skim over the words without giving them much thought. What does it mean for God's name to be "hallowed"? Is this a declaration about God or is it the first petition that we ask of our Father? How am I to "hallow" God's name in my life? Hopefully, these questions, and more, will be answered as we look at these four words, "Hallowed be Your name".

มุมมอง 1314 วันที่ผ่านมา
One of the areas that seems to be most difficult for followers of Christ to become consistent and passionate about is prayer. We buy and read books about prayer; we listen to sermons on how to pray; we make acronyms like ACTS (adoration, confession, thanksgiving, supplication) or PRAY (praise, repent, ask, yield) to guide us in prayer; we listen to music to get us into the mood to pray; and, af...

How are we supposed to battle against evil in the world, and against the wiles, or schemes, of the Devil? That is what Paul is addressing at the end of his letter. He is getting us ready to engage in the most epic battle of our lives, the battle against evil in our world. Again, how do we do that? By dressing for success, metaphorically speaking. Paul is going to use the wardrobe of a warrior t...

Pastor and author Warren Wiersbe comments, “It comes as a shock to the new believer that the Christian life is a battleground and not a playground. In my pastoral ministry, I could always tell when a new Christian was starting to mature, because he found himself fighting battles. This was a good sign because, as Spurgeon used to say, ‘Satan never kicks a dead horse!’ “ We are living in a world ...

We see in various places in the Bible, stories of people who walked with God: Adam, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, and David, just to name a few. So, what does walking with God look like? And more importantly, what should it look like for us today? This message was born from the struggle of my own heart to answer that question this past week. I don't have it all figured out, but I pray that what I have ...

“The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth answer once and for all the question, ‘What is God's heart toward me?’ At the point of our deepest betrayal, when we had run our farthest from him and gotten so lost we could never find our way home, God came and died to rescue us. You have never been loved like this. He has come to save you in every way a person can be saved. That is God'...

มุมมอง 16หลายเดือนก่อน
What is a joyful life? Is it simply a life of happiness, a life relatively free from trouble and trials? Living a joyful life does often entail happiness. A joyful life is sometimes marked by warmth and cheer, by happiness. But a joyful life is far more than that, because “joy” is more than mere cheer, more than laughter, and feeling good. Look at Jesus’ own words on this word "joy": They are f...

Shepherds are a key part of the Christmas story- the first to hear of the birth of Jesus! The significance of this can't be missed! We live in a world at war, physically and spiritually, and Jesus came to bring peace. He is "the Prince of Peace". How does the message to the shepherds speak to us today? Let's find out!

Again and again in the Old Testament, God promises a sinful, broken and pained world that he will send a Messiah- that is, a Deliverer- to reconcile, renew and restore all things: Genesis 3:14a-15; Isaiah 9:1-7; and Micah 5:1-4 are just a few of the many promises and prophesies that God gave concerning His Son, Jesus, the Messiah. And then…they wait...That blank page between the OT and the NT r...

We’re just a few days from a holiday that is often forgotten. Christmas is just a short month away and there’s so much to do! Who has time for a simple little holiday that focuses on giving thanks? Last week we looked at the husband/ wife relationship and the beauty of biblical submission- a submission that is a voluntary act of the will in which we yield our preferences, desires, and goals to another. Scripture tells us to submit to one another. It also tells us that wives should submit to their husbands as unto Christ. Our passage for today speaks of obedience in the child-parent relati...

As a Christian, every one of us, at some point in our walk with the Lord, will find ourselves in the wilderness. What do I mean by a wilderness? I mean a time when we find ourselves in a place of…uncertainty…spiritual thirst…maybe even aloneness. The words of the Psalmist give us a clear picture of what this looks like: “As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. M...

Last week we looked at marriage from perspective of Christ and His Church. We saw that the union of a man and a woman in matrimony represents the eternal bond of Jesus and His Bride that was created before the foundation of the world. From Ephesians 5:25-27, we gleaned an understanding that, hopefully, laid a very clear foundation upon which a marriage is to be built. . Paul has also previously...
