  • As a Christian, every one of us, at some point in our walk with the Lord, will find ourselves in the wilderness. What do I mean by a wilderness? I mean a time when we find ourselves in a place of…uncertainty…spiritual thirst…maybe even aloneness. The words of the Psalmist give us a clear picture of what this looks like: “As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? My tears have been my food day and night, while they continually say to me, ‘Where is your God?’ When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me. For I used to go with the multitude; I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast. Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me?” Psalm 42:1-5a
So, where do we go from here? How do we make it through the wilderness? Let's look at an example from the wanderings of Israel and see if we can learn anything.
