What years were the ultimate Mx in production? Also can you still get parts for them? Thanks.
@@aigauthier1980 I am not 100 percent sure of production years. I believe mid 90s to the early 00s. Most of the parts are still available.
Great video and great explanation!!!! Thank you!!!!👍👍👍👊👊
@@jeffbaloga4376 I hope it was helpful
Can you check the packings without replacing if they still look good? I had left insides of my sprayer not protected over a couple of winters and that resulted in the large ball rusting and pitting along with the foot valve housing that was badly rusted... The packings looked perfect, this is a unit that rarely gets used and prob has a total of 25 hours on it, if that... Does Bedford sell all these parts for the 440i? Also, what type of grease are you using for assembly?
@@fraydcat any kind of grease is good. The packing will come with grease if you get them. To check the packing, prime it. Once the system stops pumping under pressure, it should hold for 30 seconds before another stroke. It may stroke right after the prime valve is turned off a couple cycles but wait. If the pumping stops, packing are good. If it keeps stroking packing are bad
If you still have that part you removed, you can send it to me. I need two parts of that.
@@fredygutierrez9277 I do not, sorry
Does lowering the pressure regulator make the pump last any longer?
@@HappyHands. if it does, it would be negligible. The pumps are made to reun at max pressure for many hours
Greetings, I would like to ask you a question. My pump is a general pump as well and it leaks the oil from the bottom. Should I replace the gasket? It builds pressure but it leaks a lot of oil. I took off all six valves and everything seems to be OK. Can you tell me where I can buy the parts please?
@@Hec-Thor-23 the oil seals need to be replaced. They are at the end of the plunger towards the crank case. Check with watercannon.com for the parts
@@Brian_the_repair_guy thank you… your videos are great keep it up

Excellent presentation. I learned a lot from your video. My Honda GX390 3600 psi was building pressure @ 3200 psi. As soon as I press the trigger the pressure immediately dropped to 2000 psi. Now I know what to do to fix it. Thanks to your very informative video 👍🏽
I hope this video helps. I have a couple others on loss of pressure as well. Be sure to watch those
Thanks
I hope it helps you
lol i got covered in oil because i pulled without the spark plug just to see if it had loosened. I continued the video and you said watch out cause it’s gonna spray out… i laughed at myself… Great video! Helped me out a lot cheers
You jumped the gun.
🤙🏼
Thank you so much for being so clear in this video. It was very thoughtful. I sent a little $ to thank you. Cheers.
I greatly appreciate this. You are very generous
Thanks!
Thank you very much, I am glad it helped
Thank you for making the video. I just got my MX unit and sprayed maybe 3 quarts of latex through it with an 08 or 10 tip. I will read the manual :)
I would definitely think about switching to a larger orifice tip
Our pressure washer pump looks similar to that one. I switched it on today. Hadn't been used for maybe a year. It's actually my borther in law's machine. The pressure washer started up straight away but absolutely no water was being sucked up. I put my hand at the end which is supposed to suck up the water and there was nothing. What do you think could be wrong? These videos of yours are very interesing. Thank you.
When you say sucked up, do you mean the chemical injectoe?
@@Brian_the_repair_guy Thanks for replying. No, I mean the water. The inlet pipe is put into a tub to such up water. This has mesh at the end to prevent any debris uptake. It just isn’t sucking up any water. It's never had and inlet pipe which screws onto a tap. It's placed in a tub of clean water.
@@Carnabwth do me a favor. Find me on Facebook you can send me pictures of the machine and parts that you are talking about
Thank you I needed this video great details on how to clean and use it

Great video. I need help. Pull start cord rips out of my hand when i attempt to pull / start it. Does anyone know why and the fix? Its been a year and I'm still at a dead end. Ryobi GCV 190 3100psi 2.5 GPM
They can do that on the compression stroke. I usually cycle through a few pulls to the compression stroke, then make my pull
@Brian.... I have a Westinghouse 2700 pressure washer with a Westinghouse 212cc engine. I need a new water pressure pump assembly but am having trouble finding actual replacement parts for a "Westinghouse" unit. I'm reluctant to purchase one of those cheap knock off pumps from that Large online retailer bc they just seem too underpriced. Are you aware of a decent aftermarket or compatible pump and where to buy? Such as Maintenance parts: water pumps, carb rebuild kits, etc. Thx
Watercannon.com does a great job with keeping a huge selection of parts and pumps for pressure washers. I personally lean towards the AR pumps on the smaller units
I have question. My pressure washer build up pressure when the equipment is off what can cause that problem?
I am not sure what you are asking. Can you reword the question
Brushes were good. Bought it used after it had been outside in the weather for 2 years. Pumped solvent fine but smoke coming out vents after 5 seconds. Took apart again so armature in my hand. VERY warm after 5 seconds of run time and 5 minutes to disassemble. All I can guess is a short inside the spinning armature. Oh well.
Exactly right.
Awsome video thx Canada
I hope it helped you
How do I find out what check valves I need on my machine
Your pump model number should be on the top of the pump and you can Google it from there. Or you could contact watercannon.com they are pretty good and figuring the pump out
Hi Brian - thanks for your video. Tried all of your steps. Rope pulled easily when I took the spark plug out and I didn't see anything come out of the hole. Put the spark plug back in and then it was hard to pull again. Any thoughts? Troy Built Pressure Washer, Briggs and Stratton Engine 875exi series, 190cc OHV. Thanks
If it pulls with no plug, but locks with the plug then most likely there is still fluid in the cylinder. If you have a compressor, blow the cylinder out.
🎉🎉😎
what is the name of the red tool you used to tighten
It is a hinged wrench
great video Thx from Canada
I hope it helps
Abandoned machines can pile up too.
There's no way a shop repairing spray machines will not get paint splattered everywhere on testing equipment. I've been surprised enough myself. I swamp out especially when I lose balls or tools. I keep my tools organized to find them and nobody likes living in a hoarders house anyway.
Are you referring to the condition of the shop?
@Brian_the_repair_guy I'm referring to my shop at home there's nothing wrong with yours. I don't know how you tubers deal with trolls without getting gut sick and quitting. I appreciate what you offer
@@WilliamWinsor I appreciate you. I clean my shop on Fridays, during the week I keep is mostly straight. My tools are never laying around, they are put back after each use. Makes the job easier. You are right. Between leaks, ruptured hoses and basic dirt and debris brought in by the machines it can become a mess quickly
🙂👍
Thank you very much I learn a lot it will come handy in the future God bless
I hope it helps

@@Brian_the_repair_guy thanks but I dont do facebook…
@@Interestedsomewhat ok, YT is much harder with a 2 way conversation. Heavy delays and no pictures or videos.
Very well done. If the check ball and spring are gunked up is there an effective way to clean them as well as inside of injector ?
Just washing is off with fresh water, be careful with the spring, it is a very light gauge
Thanks! Will do.
Could you please send a link where you get the external unloader from Amazon?
The unloader will vary depending on the pump you have.
Do I need to remove the flywheel and check the key in case it has sheared? Could that be cause of the partial pull lock up?
I don't think so
Repair Question: Honda GC190 with new pump, spark plug; unit never been tipped or turned over. Oil level ok too. I pull start; it locks half way in the turn, then frees up; not enough pull to fire the engine. Press the trigger, no pressure, just water flowing out. thoughts?

Good Info, everyone that has equipment with recoil start should know. Brian, I am guilty of rotating the recoil especially when truck mounted to give the operator ease of access. Thanks for sharing.

I have an MTM belt driven pressure washer with GX 390 engine. I replaced the carburetor one of these Chinese ones that didn't have that extra little bowl. When I started it and try to put the choke in,it races like crazy.. you know what's going on?
My guess would be the throttle linkage is binding. Pull the airfilter cover off with the air filter. See if you can move the linkage back and forth freely with your fingers. No need to start it to do this
Brian thanks for the reply I probably didn't get those thin cables connected properly. Does it make any difference about the carburetor being slightly different I see online they have the ones with what looks like a mini bowl next to the regular Bowl. Mine had that originally.I went by a place in Richmond, Virginia.. the guy just didn't have anyone to look at with his backlog @@Brian_the_repair_guy
@@irish89055 the little bowl is a sediment bowl. It will catch small debris that might be in the tank. Not needed.
Great thanks!

Hey Brian, do you adjust the pressure while holding the trigger on the wand( with the tip) or running without the trigger? Thanks
Without the trigger pulled. If you pull the trigger and set the pressure, your pressure will increase once the trigger is released. Could be too high and stall the engine
Nice Vid!
Hope it helps
I do this all the time. The only problem I come across is the fitting threads. There seems to be either bsp or npt threads. What a load of crap. It should all be metric.
Thanks Brian excellent information 👍
