      Sounds like just a belt problem yes? My belts that came with the machine broke before they slipped after the first 6 hours of splitting. Replaced them with better more quality ones and haven’t had a problem since.

      Holds roughly 2 1/3- 2 1/2 dumped in with some hand leveling at the end. If I did some different size sideboards to get me a couple more inches of height, I’m betting I could get 3 dumped in. I rarely ever sell cords though so I’ve never need it. Only sell by the face cord. I’ll deliver as much as you want but on sell @ $200/face cord.

    When your through using the splitter, You should always turn the gas off and let the engine run until it dies. The reason you are having to pull the plug an blow the gas out is because the float in the carb is bouncing around when you transport the splitter, letting the needle valve come off it’s seat allowing gas to free flow into the engine. Some of the gas will also drain past the rings and eventually overfill the crankcase diluting the oil which can destroy the engine. I would check the oil and if it’s overfull, drain and refill with new oil. Also even if you’re not going to transport the splitter, you should still shut the gas off, because those needle valves are famous for not seating and leaking. Happy splitting.

    Love the video. Baffled by the cost of the bundler though. The technology and material involved to make that appears to be extremely minimal. Those companies may not be making a killing just because of (seemingly) a small market, but their margin has to be insane...

    • @allaboutoutdoors5083
      @allaboutoutdoors5083 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh yes no doubt there steep on price for some metal tubing and a motor essentially. The cost of the bundler by far makes its money back in productivity though. In a time hour I did 69 bundles. So let’s say 50 comfortably. That’s $250/hr cost of $3300 that’s a mere 13 1/4 hours of bundle time for this to pay for itself. That’s 1 1/2 days crazy.

    1. Start with a small operation and gradually expand. 2. Use attention-grabbing techniques, like orange cones, for your firewood stand. 3. Consider local market conditions when pricing your firewood. 4. Always keep enough wood to maintain stocked bundles. 5. Plan ahead for sourcing firewood; make connections with local landscape places and tree services. 6. Prioritize selling quality wood over quantity for better profits. 7. Leverage word of mouth as a powerful form of advertising. 8. For beginners, consider essential equipment: small truck, trailer, chainsaw, protective gear, and a moisture meter. 9. Log splitters are recommended for efficiency when selling larger quantities. 10. Keep meticulous records of expenses and earnings. 11. Reinvest profits into the business for sustainable growth. 12. Time efficiency is crucial; minimize steps in the firewood processing chain. 13. Consider commercial firewood bundlers for increased efficiency in bundling. 14. Track expenses and earnings using tools like Excel spreadsheets and monthly planners. 15. Always use profit money to buy the next necessary item for business growth. 16. Consider a dump insert for trucks for easier transportation. 17. Be prepared for equipment replacements and repairs; accidents happen. 18. Consider expansion plans for the future, such as a firewood bin with a carport.

      I’ve split countless cords with it. The only weak point I’ve found is the belt. Had to replace them 3 times so far but they are fairly cheap so I really can’t complain. I used it for about a year and a half straight with big nasty stuff small nice stuff. No mercy on it trust me lol. I have an eastonmade axis now so I don’t use it much anymore. I will be soon though with my new setup. Oh and also I’ve had to replace some bolts on it with American made bolts cuz the ones that are on it are Chinese metal. Stripping and always loosening but after I did that no issues whatsoever

      yeah definitely not my cup of tea I wouldn't rent it again let alone buy one. The splits were so big I had to resplit everything at least once some pieces twice. Will fly through the wood if your doing boiler wood though. bug hunky stuff is all this machine is good for, the exact opposite of what i need out of a splitter/processor. Japa 405 with the perfect split system will be what i'm going with.
