Kinetic splitters are definitely underrated. Save the ugly knotty wood for the hydraulic splitter and fly thru all the straight grain logs. Just got a new supersplit hd 3 days ago. I figure I only need to split 33 facecords to pay for itself. Time will tell how much more wood I can make in a yr compared to a 30ton hydraulic splitter. I also seperate oak, cherry,Hickory, and birch so I can get more for it and split everything small for fireplace wood
Same here I separate by type as well. Mainly for dry times. Don’t want dry cherry under wet oak. Doesn’t make sense and like you said 💵. You’ll end up making a WHOLLLLEE LOT more wood in the same amount of time
Picked up a similar 34 ton offshore unit works good for about two cords than the idler fell off and shredded the belts. I suppose this is just a quality assurance issue as it came loose. Anything else you can recommend for maintenance??
My idler pulley bearings went out not long ago. Replacing was a breeze. Had to replace most of the bolts on the unit. Like the ones that literally hold the engine on I went to tighten them 2 stripped 1 broke. Chinese crap I’m guessing. My belts shredded after the first 2 hours I used it. Put better quality cross referenced belts on it. Haven’t had an issue since and I use this ALOOTTT. After replacing most of the bolts this is a solid machine. Can’t complain about reliability at all. Keep your rack lubed and that’s about it.
That’s some fast beautiful firewood! Great job!!👍🍒👍
