My name is Luke and, like you, I love trains. I am a TH-camr, voice actor, and train enthusiast and since 2005, I've had trains on the brain. My inspirations? Coasterfan2105 and AmtrakGuy365. Now I've created my own videos of model trains and real trains with my own style. This includes anything from local railfanning to informational videos to my popular Steam Locomotive Profiles series. I also have a website for newcomers, old rail buffs, and for people who want to ask questions. Come along for Train Guru! All Aboard!

The Time UP 4014 Pushed a Freight Train
More than two decades after UP 844 helped a freight train, Big Boy 4014 did the same in Nebraska.

Union Pacific 844 has been the "Living Legend" of the UP Steam Program since the late 1960s. Despite nearing eighty years old, the locomotive still has quite a bit of resilience, as shown in 1996. Throwback Tuesday: Memorial Day at Roaring Camp (2019)
มุมมอง 1103 หลายเดือนก่อน
Five years ago in 2019, this was my second trip to Roaring Camp. Still using my iPhone 6s, I recorded on the main campground with the Civil War reenactment in the background firing cannons. This was the last year of the battle at Roaring Camp, and my first and only exposure to it. Enjoy this blast from the past! SOCIALS: Instagram: train_guruyt Website: trainguru.wixsite.com/trai...

I saw this video uncensored before. I think it in " the face of death " documentary film
What psychopaths made the train conductor *reenact* the death?
Its not "watch tiller".... it's "Voyteela". Like Pope John Paul 2nd's real name.
Foolish to even try to beat the train. Just wait. Nothing could be so important.
It happened in 1991? The video looks so old as if it was from the 60s 😢
daily life in romania
I think this was on Banned from T.V back in the day
More examples of people not being aware of their surrounds and paying attention. The crossing gates and noises are there for a reason. It's even worse these days with people looking at their phones and walking around with headphones on not paying attention to the road or surrounds.
Sir ptsd comes at us when we have quiet time. Time to think..time to reflect on our tragic experiance. You had zero ability to prevent that event. Zero. Please remember that always. Dont fight the thought but embrace it and go with it wishing the deceased a restful afterlife. A pilot i flew with in the Marines was training a new officer. The new pilot went inverted and pulled the ejection handle and fired them both at low level flight right into the ground. Guess who was assigned to go retrieve his body. We found just his chest. No other body parts..that was 40 years ago. I see his smile almost every day of my life during quiet times. We were good friend. Ive embraced it. I cant erase it. I didnt cause it. It still sad, but im ok. You'll be ok too... you did nothing wrong. I wish you well in your career. Stay focused. God bless you..
That women was instantly ejected from her body she felt no pain.
Why would you even dare to cross that shyt?
Id kinda blame the lawyer. He ran like it was safe and juked a stop last second. Like guiding her into it.
Reenactment when you have the footage smh
This is not a reenactment video, this is a historical commentary.
@@TrainGuru regarding the investigation where they made the operator reenact the tragedy
I live in the city right next to Gurdon. We used to search for the light all the time as kids. You almost had the name right! It's pronounced Gur-dun
Is this the chick that RBX was talking about?
Not sure…
Wojtyła is a Polish name and is pronounced Voy-tyh-wah.
Correction, the 1225 wears a Nathan 6 Chime. The same whistle worn by the famous New York Central Hudsons.
Thanks for the correction!
@@TrainGuru no problem. I'm always happy to help, and I greatly enjoyed the video.
Neighborville is such a dumb name for a town. I'm gonna call my city Coolplacesylvannia.
It’s Naperville.
We don’t call them “bankers” here.
Imagine signing a lawsuit over someone purposely walking through the train tracks when the rails are down horn blazing bells ringing and even seeing a woman run back after seeing a train. Stupidity stupidity. I would never have the balls to ever sign a lawsuit knowing my stupid family member or friend walked out on the train.
60mph would be incredibly hard to stop at that speed it would take at least 2 or more minutes
A train moving at 60mph will need at least 300-400 m of track to come to a stop. Even if the emergency brakes are applied. Stop, look and go folks...Don't die such a death...
I have a video request. Maybe you should try to do a video on the time when N&W J class #611 raced a stack train on Christiansburg Grade! th-cam.com/video/325g7HS5C8c/w-d-xo.htmlsi=2wdDuMDKDuNqj-An th-cam.com/video/IKT_lHG-D1A/w-d-xo.htmlsi=LdTEhaAt4twCMW8B th-cam.com/video/3_raJs7rnqY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6r_U7r6211hcy_Oo Here are a few links to the videos if you’re interested!

Absolutely legendary! May steam glory return!
3:22 Edward Helps out with Union Pacific 844 And Super Rescue with Daron(Union Pacific 4014)
I would also like to point out that the 4014 did experience some wheel slip while pushing the other train. considering Big Boy don't slip, that train was HEAVY. I still want to see the Big Boy pull 143 container cars (or more) by himself
There's a saying, "common sense which is not common"
From what I’ve heard, the 2nd locomotive of the freight train that 4014 pushed was dead, hence why the freight train stalled.
Man these 2 were REALLY trying to reenact what Edward did when he had to push Gordon up the hill multiple times
what about the time when 3985 pulled a intermodal freight.
Stay tuned!
Pere Marquette 1225 Was The Locomotive Used For The Polar Express Movie In 2004 And Book In 1985
Shoving a train is one thing... but nothing will ever compare to 3985 hauling 143 loaded wellcars up archer hill by herself.
Keep on the lookout for a 3985 vid!
Two Super Rescues. Reverend Wilburt Awdry would grinning ear to ear lol 2:37 That stack talk 😌👌
Excellent video
Thank you very much!
@@TrainGuru Anytime
Listening to the late Bob Kreiger, who was the engineer that day on 844, tell this story really puts in perspective how much power they were putting out on the engine as they were burning 52 gallons of oil a mile!!!! Just goes to show the power of steam engines and the upside that they still have despite being out of service on a large scale for over 60 years.
Dang it, I wish I knew that fact earlier! Enjoy the pin!
@@TrainGuru Bob also talks about the infamous doublestack train with 3985.
all we need now is 3985 to repeat history again after its return to steam
Or we wait for a 3985 Container Train vid... 😉
Who would've thought 26 years after 844 rescued a freight 4014 would've done the same?
I think it's safe to say that 4014 had a much easier time pushing the freight train than 844 did!
@@TrainGuru iwas there the day this happened ,,it was one awesome sound hearing that steam engine unleash it's power , i have been close to 4014 several times since it was restored and it's an absolute marvel to see in operation
This is my favorite part of 4014's 2023 excursion, because in fact: I portrayed 4014 as Edward (my favorite Thomas character) four to five years before this scene occurred (though I portrayed Daylight 4449 as Gordon). Notthern 844 as Henry (Super Rescue) Big Boy 4014 as Edward (Edward being old, weak, and slow while 4014 being large, heavy, and expensive, but both proved to be useful)
This song still slaps many years later
That was an excellent video, Train Guru
Thank you very much!
What a mind wreck for the not quite ex-husband. The wife is killed on the way to finalizing a divorce. There's still some pain that comes with that, plus the kids lost their mother. But now he didn’t have to go through a divorce to be done with his wife and gets to keep all of his money.

What a terrible story. A horrible thing for the family, friends and any other person seeing it. All that said however, our world is crazy with lawsuits. Nobody wants to have personal accountability anymore. Everything is always somebody else’s fault. These are things that we set bad examples for with our children now. Tragic things happen to people, and most of the time those tragedies are their own fault. Sometimes our minds and bodies do things that don’t make sense that cause these things. The lawyers mind and body reacted sharply enough to prevent his death. Her’s didn’t. Her mind and body senses were distracted and preoccupied. At least she didn’t suffer. She probably had about one second to be consciously aware that she was about to die as she saw the train in her peripheral vision.
Very careless of her. What can one say about the video or her?.
Song name?
For which section of the video?
@@TrainGuru the start
@@BNSF_4971 Old Flame - Railroad Tycoon
I would cut her some slack, the lawyer and her were going to her ex-husbands house because she was dealing with a divorce, probably had a lot on her mind, if you watch the video closely you can see the lawyer look at Mary right before they started sprinting to beat the train and say something, probably like "Hurry up" as right after they started essentially running to beat the train, they thought that the noise was from the parked train that they could clearly see was not in motion. Also, Mary's view was obstructed because of the lawyer who was significantly taller than her, combine that with her stressed mind from the divorce and I'd say that this death is not her fault, She put all the trust into the lawyer, but only one of them made it out with their lives. Tragic for the family, even after 30 years.
I remenber hearing about this years ago== but Ithought it was he Big Boy
Calling a helper a banker is a certifies Thomas fan brainrot moment
I may be a Thomas fan. But it just rolls off the tongue better.
Why the hurry
A few years ago a old Prussian G12 was used to transport new railway sleepers, because the diesel locomotive was out of order. For that single day she was in active service to help in railway maintenance, like she was 100 years ago.
