AA has been around 90 years not 100. It works for some and does not work for others. Neither Bill Wilson nor Dr. Bob worked the steps, yet both remained sober--so obviously the steps aren't what makes 12 step programs work for a few but not most. As a society we should all be demanding a better success rate for the disease of addiction. This needs to be insisted on from Treatment centers and AA. Both have at best a 5 % success rate. We wouldn't accept this rate for cancer or any other consumer product. Why is it acceptable for addiction. Awesome video at the end. Thanks for sharing. God Bless

I just found your podcast recently and love hearing all the stories on here. I work as a social worker (working on my masters to be a therapist) and these stories have helped me so much with my clients who struggle with addiction. You all are truly resilient and I am so proud of you all. Thank you for having this platform to inspire others and make a change. I have learned so much while in the field and these stories have helped me be a better supporter for my clients

Gosh Rachel sounds EXACTLY like me as a kid! I binge ate (also ingredient household), I was infatuated with boys all the time etc and looking back I can definitely see that I kept trying to fill a void that I didn't understand

Dude, I love Jack kays. I'm so thankful I discovered him in 2024 for Pierce the veil in Norfolk. I'm so proud of him and so stoked for him and I literally hope such greatness comes for him! I literally love his music so much, it's greatness and my 3.5 year old son also loves Jack and it's very cute seeing him sing along to the songs! Jack, you have divine protection! Keep going!

Deff an old soul and very Mature. He sounds like a 50yr old man that been programming for 15 years. He’s hella lucky he found AA/Sobriety at a young age and really followed the process. Nice to see a young man so knowledgeable and mature.

I love the fact he brought up what the family goes through while their loved ones go through addiction. That is so true! Addictions is the worst. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Such a great touching point.

I work for a large community mental health system where we offer inpatient & outpatient including MAT in West Virginia. Our program still requires a patient be seen by medical provider & a mental health therapist weekly for the first year in addition to weekly group therapy. After 1 year of no compliance issues, they move to monthly appts but again therapy is still required (both individual & group). The state of WV still has compliance standards with MAT programs so no they didn’t get rid of all regulations across the country. It’s sad to me how MAT was spoken about by your guest. Would he suggest I stop taking my psych meds bc they’re “mind altering”? I truly believe without those the likelihood of me relapsing is high. Does it not also say in the Big Book that you should follow advice given by your doctors?? I love y’all……this guest I feel is close minded and that can be so harmful.
