    Dear Mrs/Miss Baker, suggestion: if holes tapped are not as far in as you want, cut if with a grinder the first part of the tap, the pre-point. Please use wtwr whil using the grinder to cool down. Too much heat will turn it blue, meaning the molecular structure off the steel will be weakened. Maybe try an old one first.KInd rgards, Robert

    Dear Mrs/Miss Baker we are fond off building but lack the art of spraypaint, we do use the panelline accentcolor. Are all part pre-colored in this Pocher model? Kind regards. Robert

    • @splashbakermodelbuilding
      @splashbakermodelbuilding 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Robert: Thanks for watching! 🙂The parts in this kit are pre-colored so you don't have to paint anything. I think I did paint some bolt heads silver in a later step. You can also use a silver Sharpie pen. The panel liner adds some nice detail I think. It builds into a very striking model, but there are some frustrating steps!

    Am I wrong or the Pocher kit doesn't have to be painted? are you painting it just to add details to it? and what about the drilling? I thought the kit as kind plug&play (a long one but still not so tool intensive)

    • @splashbakermodelbuilding
      @splashbakermodelbuilding 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi: Pocher claims you don't have to paint anything, but once you cut the pieces off the sprue and clean them, it removes the pre-painted color. Also, if you fill the gaps with putty, then you have to paint. You don't have to tap the holes, but it makes assembly so much easier. Some of the Pocher screw types are weak and break easily so I find it worth doing. Thanks for watching! 🙂

    • @splashbakermodelbuilding
      @splashbakermodelbuilding 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi: Thank you! I use Bob Smith (BSI) Maxi-Cure CA glue and I often use Bob Smith (BSI) Insta-Set to cure the CA instantly. The Insta-Set evaporates pretty quickly, also wipes up cleanly so I've never had an issue with overspray. I've had good results using these. On occasion; I have used two part epoxy, like Devcon 5 minute or other CA glues like Loctite, but BSI is my fave!

    Nice start to the build. Mine is currently halted due to missing ignition leads... I have also painted my yellow parts, in fact I've painted everything... I also had an issue on the right side. The screw or hub is too short. i think we messed up because we tapped our threads?

    • @splashbakermodelbuilding
      @splashbakermodelbuilding หลายเดือนก่อน

      I plan to paint all the larger parts, probably satin black and maybe aluminum. I think I got all the yellow done. I haven't had any trouble with tapped threads. I had the one piece that was too short for the slot and didn't even go in enough to reach the screw. It just seems like that part is just too short. Once the engine is complete, I might do some drybrush and wash detailing.

    Oh those exhausts! I must have spent 10 hours over three days gluing, filling the gaps, sanding off the part numbers, priming, refilling, re-sanding, painting, all for something that won't hardly be seen on the finished models. But that's just me. As a retired guy, I have plenty of time to spend on such things. You have caught up with me on the engine now, so I'm eagerly looking forward to your next video.

    Nice work Splash,looks great, do you chase the screws with oil, after tapping the holes?

    • @splashbakermodelbuilding
      @splashbakermodelbuilding หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! I put oil on the tap, then clean the hole with an oiled swap and most times, that's enough. If I have a really fussy screw; I'll oil the screw. Often, just oiling a screw instead of tapping works, but I did have one screw break so now I do all I can to avoid that!!

    Hi there, watched your assembly with interest and would like to add a comment, not ment as a criticism. I would like to see the mold seam on the tires removed. This is quite simple with the tire squeezed on to an appropriate sized socket with tape wrapped round it to make the tire secure. Then mount it on a short extension and fit it to a drill. Sand with a mild sanding block till the mold limes disappears and an appealing roughness on the surface is achieved. I believe you will like the result. Cheers.

    I'm struggling with the colour of the glass fibre parts. I wish Pocher had moulded them in a translucent plastic. As it stands, they look nothing like the parts on the real car, which were a pale yellowish hue as far as I can see.

    • @splashbakermodelbuilding
      @splashbakermodelbuilding หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi: Totally agree! Perhaps if the parts had been molded in clear and then we could have put a thinned or clear yellow light coat on. In looking at pictures, the parts (on the real car) seem to darken with age, probably due to dirt. But regardless of color, once you take the part off the sprue and clean it, it takes off color so I felt I needed to paint it something. I like the Vallejo Polished Gold even if it's not precisely accurate.

    • @splashbakermodelbuilding
      @splashbakermodelbuilding หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi: I did not compare the original to the amended to find out what was incorrect in the original, but knowing Pocher, there were numerous mistakes and still knowing Pocher, there will also be mistakes in the amended version. The very first part I tried to attach, the screw wasn't long enough to reach the part. It was fine on the other side though. Being subscription based, each month is about 5-6 steps and the steps are simple. I think it's one reason I've fallen so far behind in building them because you assemble one wheel and something else and then wait another month for more stuff. @@splashbakermodelbuilding yeah, I ordered through a mail forwarding service and because I’m in Canada I can’t get one. I’ve also had no luck getting a reply from them. I’m willing to buy it, but I can’t find it on eBay or anywhere online.

    Building this kit is a disaster. Pocher should be deeply ashamed launching such bad quality.

    Hello, Just a suggestion. Instead of drilling out the holes in the die-cast parts, I dip the screws needed into oil and then screw them into the pieces that need to be joined. This makes the pieces more secure and makes the joined pieces more tighter.

      Hi and thanks for watching. I agree just oiling the screw works most of the time, but unfortunately I've had a few screws break and it's a pain to drill out the broken screw. Certain Pocher screw styles are notoriously weak. So while it's time consuming, I tap almost all the holes for that extra insurance. 😊

    Splash AWESOME came across your build and bought one. I can feel your frustration when something isn't quite going the way you want it. Now i know I'm not the only one. THANKS, KEEP IT UP!

      Thanks!! I think Pocher makes some things unnecessarily complicated and said instructions too vague! 🙂

    You do awesome work. I am building the same car.👍✌If I don't like the music. I can turn the volume down. Keep up the good work👍

      Thank you! I haven't finished mine yet, I set it aside for other projects. I don't even like some of the music LOL! I primarily use TH-cam creator music to help out the community and some tracks just don't fit the ambiance once the video is complete. Thanks for watching. Hope your kit is progressing nicely! 🙂

      Did you use simply tacky to mask off the center part of the wheels?

    did you try cutting the heat shield material with a very hot knife to stop the fraying?

      Hi: No, I didn't. I usually use white glue or fabric glue to "seal" the fraying. I'll have to remember the hot knife next time. Thanks!
