Dr Liz. Just read lovely article about you in Woman and Home. You are an inspiration. I had ducal cancer 20 years ago. Recently developed a tubular cancer in the other breast. It’s hard to get much information as it’s relatively rare. I had a lumpectomy and node removal. It was 8 mm clear margins and clear nodes. Hormone positive but her negative. I’m having radiotherapy next week. However I’m questioning whether I should take the hormone blockers or not as I’m 68 and already have back and joint pains. If I was younger I wouldn’t hesitate but at this age I want some quality of life. I would appreciate an opinion. I gather the type I have is slow to grow and spread.

Dr Liz, you look fab. Thank you so much for continuing to educate us while you are going through treatment yourself. ❤ My question is, are there any suitable hair dye products that we can use? Keep up the great work.

Ive got diagnosed with bc a few weeks ago with 38. And I’m so afraid. Sometimes u think having chemo is better than all this for all the years afterwards. But chemo only ist not the answer I know 🙏🏻 still trying to read everything about that topic and educate myself ❤️ thank you for your Videos

I’m 6 months in on Tamoxifen and have noticed the amount of hair loss just recently. Will this get worse the longer I’m on it and are there recommended shampoos/ conditioners with a proven record to reduce hair loss/promote hair growth.

This is misinformation. Sugar indeed indirectly can contribute to cancer development. Excess sugar places the body in a highly inflammatory state, laying the groundwork for cancer to be triggered.

I am diagnosed with DCIS, the cluster is 5mm, and I had a lumpectomy to have removed it with all margins negative, and the closest margin of 14mm. But the Radiologist still insisted me of having the radio treatment 45GY for 3 weeks. Now the oncologist insisted me of taking Tomexifen for 5 years. But I was diagnosed with thickened uterus lining to 11.9 mm 3 years ago when I was going through the premanopause, along with some abnormal growth. Even though now my oncologist ordered another ultrasound and it shows my ovaries are unseen and the uterus is 2 mm, but I suspect myself being overtreated, because all of the radio treatment and the Tomexifen itself would also cause cancer. I don't want to take the medicine. What's your input please?

I’m so glad you’re talking about this. Nobody talks about it, your hair falls out during chemo and then it grows bac like your, then there’s a small minority of us on Timoxofen, Letrosol etc who re live the trauma everytime we look in the mirror. My hair never grew back after chemo and my Drs don’t care because you’re supposed to be grateful you’re still alive! And no, rosemary oil doesn’t work! 😅

Diagnosed with high grade DCIS on biopsy. On surgical pathology, I was upstaged to hormone positive IDC with LVI but was node negative and HER2-. No radx because I have reached my lifetime limit on radx from childhood lymphoma. So, I had radical bilateral mastectomy and no adjuvant tx. I declined tamoxifen, my onc gave me a 1% chance of recurrence. Two years later, I have stage IV bone and lung Mets. Or as the emergency room docs described, “horrendous cancer.” I was oxygen dependent for two months and have been on ribo with lupron and anastrozole since May 1. Feeling much better. However, I often feel that LVI is responsible for my Mets. Yes, I believe in my docs and there is ongoing research and much to be learned. I wish post diagnosis surveillance had been scan based as an earlier finding of stage 4 may have put me at a better starting stage for intervention. I doubt I’ll get to NED status now. And wanted to add that I am very active, alcohol free, and follow a nutritious diet. Thank you for this video as I’ve tried to bring awareness to LVI myself because I’m shocked that it’s not compelling enough in certain cases to upstage or to more strongly recommend targeted therapy. In my region, ribo is finally being offered as a preventive measure for early stage, node negative, hormone positive BrCa. I was two years too late. 🩷🌸

Sugar that is refined is no good for the body. To press this issue only shows the lack of actual nutrition knowledge. Yes the body needs natural sugar from fruits, honey, and other sources but not cakes and sweets in packages. Refine sugar in the human body increases mucus production and prevents red blood cells from absorbing the full amount of oxygen through the body. So yes, taking Refined Sugar out of your diet will help with preventing cancer from coming back but there are other factors as well depending on the type of cancer.

I had thin hair to begin with, and it is falling out and just getting thinner and thinner. And I am getting rather desperate. I have just completed 1 year of 5 on aromatase inhibitors and i don't know what to do. I've heard that lots of the shampoos. Are just scams. Is there anything I can do to help my situation? Also, Will it grow back when I finish my five years?

I was fine during the first weeks but later I statted noticing my whole body is on pain and it felt like I am an old lady. My bones and joints are paining. I also feel tired and exhaustedly. I do not know if this is because of tamoxifen or radiotherapy 😢. I also noticed fluid retention. Anyway the oncologist recommended that I gave it 2 to 3 months till the symptoms settled and the body get used of it.. hope things will be improved. I am worried because I need to work and I am a single mother.
