Would all damage be worth more or a less compared to attack with weaker marches? All my equip is epic im in kvk 2, trying to figure out how much all damage is worth vs attack and wether it scales better with strong marches or weaker

Even if you max tech in kvk you only get about 40% of a tax stats less than 50 anyway. so we all jumped in and say put defense and health on your gear. if you’ve been playing for sometime you’re going to have quite a bit more than 40% of defense and health in gear. My point is that you no longer need to worry about decreasing marginal returns if you add attack. So, in a roundabout way, I’m saying, I agree attack is underrated.

@@c.j.reynolds512 I tried to turn it into a Google sheet but so many of the formulas fell apart. There are some advanced functions that seem to work for excel but not for sheets...though I'm no sheets expert.

No. I quit RoK around about the time this video was recorded (looking back).
One constructive criticism about wick and about anyone doing rage work is that they assume that every march is going to deal out counter attack damage. That just isn't the case in a five march surround, where one march is legit dealing and receiving both attack and counter attack damage. But, you have 4 marches that will be hitting the target and not be receiving direct attack from the enemy, meaning you will not be dealing counter attack damage. This really changes the face of rage gaining. It makes horn and feral nature a lot more relevant when you take the lack of counter attack (ie 16 rage per counter attack) into the equation. This is why I default to getting feral nature, and horn, almost always.
My rage simulator allows you to remove the counter attack rage. But it's true most calculations assume you are also being attacked.

hi: I make a big distinction between dealing out counter attack damage vs not dealing out counter attack damage. When I do a five march surround, at least 4 of my marches do not deal counter attack damage. (ie: the enemy is only directly attacking one of my marches, and that is the only march dealing counter attack damage). With each counter attack being 16 rage, that is a huge chunck of rage that I am not gaining. This makes the calculus for feral nature very very different. It is all the more reasons to max feral nature and to have horn. Those 16 rages per turn, or lack thereof, amounts to a huge delay in cycling. So conclusion: in a five march, often 4 out of the 5 marches will not be dealing counter attack, meaning it is all the more important to have horn and feral nature to make sure that we have the acceleration needed to fire off that skill.

At the time I recorded this video, I had not built in all of the game mechanics into the calculator, just place holders for where they would go. Other values in the calculator are weighted averages that reflect an effect over time. Calculators are not simulators. Effects that occur with some chance probability (e.g., 10% chance to increase skill damage for 3 seconds) can only be estimated by taking a weighted average of their most likely effects over time. The result of a calculator is an average expected result, whereas a simulation would give you a distribution of likely results. That is why you see things like 13.13% skill damage.
Please include suggestions for those who don't have a horn of fury!

Idk but to me it seems like rage timing the joan passive extra 2000 damage factor to work every skill cycle is better than having 6 turn cycles but missing the extra joan hit every other cycle
It's a good thought, but you are also reducing your uptime for all of the other active skill effects if you do that. The basic question is which is better: getting a bonus 3rd skill every cycle but slow cycles vs. a bonus 3rd sill every other cycle, but faster cycles? I'm pretty sure keeping your cycle speed faster is better long term, even if it means you only trigger joan's 4th every other cycle.

That's a good question. I haven't done many analyses with special talented horn of fury (although it is very easy to do) because until recently I didn't even have one. I can start doing some updates with special talented ones.
Great video. Have you tried comparing ring vs horn effectiveness at different battle durations in the combat simulator? I would be interested to see the results.
I haven't tried comparing them directly. They are pretty tricky because it really depends on which commander you are talking about because every active skill is different. And, of course, with AoE commanders it varies as well.

I thought rage gain was different when "losing". Do you know if undying fury help in this situation without horn? Also do you know what is the metric that makes your troop winning or losing? Is it the normal attack number?
Also, why is Joan getting only 5 turns of rage bonus if primary? Isn't that only when she is secondary?
@@Razznaz Yes, you get 10 more rage for losing on attack and 10 more rage for losing on counter-attack. The metric isn't just total amount of troops lost though. I have a video on this, but (from memory) I think it is actually the percentage of troops lost that counts. My rage simulator has an option to indicate losing the trades as well. In my previous analyses on cavalry commanders, I found it was even more critical to have undying fury if you don't have a horn. I believe I have a rage video looking at Saladin that shows this.
@@Razznaz She only gets 5 turns of rage bonus as primary because the timer resets when the secondary commander fires. So, her active skill gives 2 turns of rage bonus before the secondary commander's active skill starts giving the bonus, which lasts for 3 seconds.
I ended up with 6% all damage on my nev Joan. Hits like a truck and helps with people targeting that march because of the counter att from all damage. Break downs like this are huge Gg on the video answered alot of questions I had

I like the analysis. Not just on all dmg vs other stats, but the relative value of stats on different meta builds. Could you do a similar analysis on mitigations? I know it’s situational (i.e., counterattack reduction is sometimes nearly useless and sometimes mitigating everything coming in and commander dependent). But, on average, all damage reduction vs. skill damage reduction vs counterattack reduction vs normal attack dmg reduction vs stats like health and defense. Heck, vs the benefits of X seconds of silence!
Some of these are quite a bit more complicated than others, and require simulations (which are much harder to do) rather than calculators like the one I have. Calculators have to approximate and use weighted averages. But in general, mitigations have the same impact as buffs. So, all damage reduction is the same "effectiveness" value as all damage increase. If that makes any sense.
nice video, it only knows before 2021 so answers are probably a little dated haha. 😀 Plus it might of gleaned it from a specific ROK website. What could be interesting is using chatgpt to help advise or give advice on best equipment, armaments choices based on stats, calculations that you give it...would it be better than the spreadsheet calculations out there.
I considered asking it some equipment questions, but I didn't have a great way of evaluating its answer because the reality is that the right answer requires knowing many, many specifications (which civ, holy sites, special units, SoC tech, commanders, etc.). Based on its answers here, I would not consider ChatGPT a great source for answers on that. And, certainly it won't have any (useful) advice about armaments as they were not added until this year. I don't think it has any chance of outperforming my calculator, for example.

Almost universally, 15% attack is going to be more effective than 5% health. How much more depends on a whole host of other factors including troop, civ, commanders, gear, etc. But it is quite rare, if ever, that you'd give up 10% of total stats for a single stat.

Unfortunately, it is not easy to convert to a Google Sheet where I can share it readily. There are lots of formulas on lots of sheets running in the background and some of the functions only seem to work in Excel, not in Google Sheets.

Can you be more specific about where this is coming from? Do you mean the RCF? You are right, it doesn't include any Holy Site's from the LK. I can add the RCF pretty easily.

@@PsychOutROK i made a matlab code to calculate rok stats as you. With 40% damage from kvk buff it will make damage:health ratio 3:2.

@@moutan100 I can't be 100% confident until I go back through the calculations myself, but because all damage is calculated at the end, my intuition is that this won't affect the ratio at all. That is, all damage -- to my recollection -- should not have the diminishing returns we see with other stats because it is an end of formula multiplier.
